If it didn't have excessive oil consumption and cvt issues it would be one of the best cars what honda was aware about and never issued a recall only a service bulletin at customer's dime
I have a 2014 Accord EX-L V6 that I bought with 6 miles on the odometer and currently it has 212,300 miles on it. It has been completely trouble free and extremely reliable. Only problem that I have had is at 185k it got a small oil leak. I was going to trade it for a new vehicle, but I decided to keep it and just buy a new vehicle. I had the oil leak fixed and I drive the Accord more than I drive my brand new vehicle. Sometimes I regret the decision to buy a new vehicle given how great my Accord still is.
I am at this point with my Honda at 311,000k. I think it is time for a new car due to the mileage, but it rides so well. But, I am thinking about a new car.
I own a 2013 Accord LX sedan with 96K miles. Only problem I had was having to replace the valve cover gasket due to leaking oil from the engine. Other than that, no issues whatsoever, not even oil consumption! Definitely a BUY!
My accord is around the 130k mile range right now and I did indeed need to replace both the valve cover gasket and the starter right around the 100-110k range.
@@TopLineRacer I currently own/drive daily, a 2007 Accord sedan with the v6 and 6spd manual which has 323k miles! Not sure what I will go with once this car lays down on me.
I currently owns a 2016 Honda Accord it has close to 200.000 miles only major repair was Timeing belt had to be changed other than that it's the best car I've ever had.
I have owned a 2013 Accord EX CVT with 110K miles from day one. Hands down the best car I have ever owned! I change the oil every 5K regardless of the MM; burns no oil. I did DYI ceramic coating + Klasse sealant (one a year) and the paint looks like new.
Good video. I have a 2010 accord that has had the check engine light on for last year plus. Replaced the coils, plugs and PCV valve and all are gone! Runs, drives like a dream - you would have no idea that it has 240k on it. I'm wanting to trade it in and get something else, but man I have a hard time letting go of it. Bought it years ago with 100k on it, almost no maintenance needed other than normal wear items like tires, brakes, oil changes and such. GREAT CARS!!
Mine is just about at 160k same exact car besides the paint color. Same story man, great vehicle no issues besides the starter and the valve cover gasket which i replaced both of myself. I'm hoping to not get in a wreck and last to 225 miles, or 200k of my own This is the best diy repair car you can own, huge engine bay and easy to work on. Great in every way
I own a 2013 accord sport that was bought brand new, it has around 200,000 miles on it right now. Only service outside the regular one was changing the Catalytic converter, just outside of the powertrain warranty. Overall it’s a great car, I have owned Hondas with some of the worst paint jobs ever, the paint on this is excellent, still looks brand new. Also never been a fan of how the CVT feels, but it did make it 200,000, so it lasts.
Just curious do you notice a slight whisle sound when your going like 15-20mph I think it’s the cvt but I’m having trouble online figuring out if they all do that or not because I find conflicting answers online
@@silverspector1400 I do have that exact sound you describe coming from the cvt in my 2013 accord… I started hearing it at about 90,000 miles .. spoke to a Honda tech and he says the sound is a characteristic of Honda cvts…i now have 174,O00 miles… sound stayed the same, no change.. I have heard this sound in the civic as well…
Just had my 08 4Runner SR5 totaled from being rear ended. My job gave me a few days off to scramble to get another car. Just picked up a 2013 accord with 113,xxx miles. I hope it gives me the dependability as my 4Runner
Even when new, some of those CVT"s has a vibration when you would put them into reverse.. they had a shake /quiver. A Honda Service Tech told me they need to warm up before they ran correctly... When cold the transmission can stall and not respond which could be dangerous.
I have owned my 2013 Accord since 2015, and it's a great car other than they did put very crappy starters in them.. I've replaced it 3 times now with the miles still under 80k.. When this happens just buy a quality new starter NOT rebuilt.. The good news about this is, when the starter starts to go out, there will just be a click when you go to start the car.. Most of the time the car will start the 2nd try when this first happens, but don't put off changing that starter for too long.. You have maybe 20 click no starts before the starter won't start at all.. The starter is between the engine and firewall and mechanics in my area quoted me $700 for the job.. A car lift would of made this much easier, but I just used car ramps and with the right socket set/universal joints it's only about a 2 hour job..
have the same problem on mine one and paid $760 nzd here for replacing new one including labour. this is the only actual "repair" thats ever done on the car.
Have u ever done a high mile review on a Nissan Altima/Maxima? I once brought a '07 Maxima with already 221,000 mi on the odometer and the car lasted another 4 yrs. It was a reliable tank! I was driving the car everywhere and it wasn't breaking down on me. When i was done with the car, i walked away from it with 267,000 miles on odometer.
300,000 miles, eh? My 2013 has 132,000 miles. Nice to know I still have a ways to go yet. Love it. Great car. I only wish they made one with fins and two tone paint.

I have a 2013 EX with 105k. I bought it used when it was 4 years old and had 20k mi. Like other Hondas I've owned, this one has been reliable. However, it is not my favorite one out of all of them. I like this car, but the one I loved the most was my old 02 Accord EX with a conventional automatic transmission. I just don't like the CVT. I seriously miss my old car but I sold it when it hit 200k mi and started needing lots of repairs. I will not buy another CVT car. I wouldn't turn down an older Honda with a conventional AT if I could find one in good shape. I'll keep my car for now since it's paid off and has been trouble free, but when that time comes to replace it I will go with Mazda. Lots of friends and neighbors own them and love them.

Cam chains are biggest issue on 2.4. The suspension is way too stiff, why do they make the springs so stiff? The engine noise could be just the injectors they loud. But $3k is an awesome deal.
You got lucky on that CVT, most of the time those CVT'S don't last long. I've seen on the 9th gens that they fail early without tranmission fluid changes. 120,000, 140,000 and sometimes you can have about 170,000 miles on the CVT. But you got extremely lucky that you have above 200,000 miles on the CVT
That direct fuel injection system is shit too, along with the motor, and the shity belt driven transmission, yeah the transmission doesn't have gears..why would Honda change everything from a damn good car to a pile of junk is beyond me
