This has been a challenge for me my whole life. My innate instinct is to fire off a shotgun of thoughts and words so that the person listening can understand every nuance and layer of what I’m saying. This has lead me to saying WAY more than I should. Then I’d get carried away and wear my thoughts and feelings on my sleeve. This would make me look weak, scatterbrained, nervous, etc. I now think very carefully about what I’m going to say and I try to make my thoughts as concise and brief as possible. This one exercise has drastically improved my life.

Someone, treated me as s dog. What’s the best way to react to this? Should I tell that person what she did?

I'm sorry to hear. Incorporating stoic philosophy into handling toxic people is such a practical approach. Reminding ourselves of the transience of life and focusing on our reactions rather than the events themselves is powerful.

Talk too fast. No time to think and absorb.
