I really wish someone could have shown me this video back in first or second year. Another thing about private engineering college - a lot of advice you get is half-baked, far more dangerous than no advice at all. The environment is such that you get conditioned to underachieving. Not yet a registered student of yours, sir, but really respect you as a teacher and guru
One of the best videos I have seen from you - Thank you very much sir. I remember how hard it has been for the last 4 years to barely get anybody to guide me on even a simple profile building game-plan, such as this. Gosh, if only I had such a guiding video when I was in my 1st year...
Things get even worse than this - In pvt engg colleges, typically most students (not staying at nearby college-hostels/mess) spend at least 2-4 hours daily commuting for college, and after returning home in the evening, they are bogged down with huge amount lab reports to write for the next day's lab (I've even had to hand-draw GUI's I coded), leaving barely enough time for studying regular subjects, let alone out-life or refreshments. This process continues till the week before midsems when we are forced to study up (staying up till late night, if not whole night), take the exams and back to square-one after that. Then finally arrives the endsem - and for the last 3-4 weeks, having little time left in hand to cover huge volumes, we are forced to resort to low-quality shortcut books, notes/xeroxes and such patchworks, despite having access to best books / online materials. And another sem just flies by... This is a normal sem among 1st 5 sems - a terribly shallow, low-achieving experience that slowly and steadily blunts down even the sharpest of minds. Add to that, the continuous nagging in the ears from college authorities about how great it is for anyone to join a services-oriented IT company - eventually managing to brainwash and destroy the word "ambition" (funny that students who had once been preparing well for exams as tough as IITJEE, ISI are made to feel so scared for preparing aptitude from indiabix) Finally before placements, students are pressed terribly hard to prepare for campussing-drives knowing fully well that with as little to say as having good attendance in class or a 9-pointer at most, the best that any student can hope for then is getting placed in any services mass-recruiting company. Get placed, spend few more months enjoying, get B.Tech - college life over - a typical nil-output 4-year B.Tech in a pvt engg college.
***** very nice tutorial, but i have 1 problem. Please guide me in this. Actually, i done my engineering from private college and got placed in services based company (Infosys). I have 2 years of exp. now i want to switch from service to product based company. Don't know where to start please guide me.
+Gate Lectures by Ravindrababu Ravula rightly said Sir i am a fresher now in my 3rd year i was happy before joining the college that it will going me to good learning experience but everything is turn's out to be a jail i was programming in java before my college completed a full working database project with my own with proper steps (not just by mugging up )and in my shitty Engineering till my 4th semester i was not having java and finally we got a mam who teaches us just class, object variable and all bullshit and the java course was over and i am paying high for this shit .What pains me is not that i am studying in private but my parents hard earned money are just getting wasted just to get degree of random pointers which nobody gives a shit about it . I am working with my own to improvise me each day :) and i feels good about it that still i am up for something :)
This is a great video. I regret not knowing this when I did my engineering. Whatever is said in this video is so true. Trust me it's hard getting into a good company. I haven't done well in my engineering (& I take full responsibility for it) even though I was interested in CS engineering and it has definitely hit me really hard. It's been a year since I graduated and I'm still jobless. So for the people who are in the beginning stage of their college in the computer science field please follow these steps. All the best!!!
I came out from a private engineering college, I attended several service-based companies which I did not crack due to lack of English knowledge and communication skills, but I attended some product-based companies which was comparatively very easy and I got placed too. I did not prepare for any gate exams but I was doing many Projects that helped me to understand the core concepts in very better. So applying whatever you are learning in real-time is the key to crack anything.
Yup you are correct, the candidate who has grasp on DS, participate in programming competition, contribution to open source projects. You are good to go in the universe of programming.
Hats off Sir ! have been preparing gate and building the basics through your videos and this one was a MASTERPIECE. My 3rd year has just started and all i needed was this ! Thank you sir :)
Hey Ravi! I was watching your "Algorithms Lecture" past two days and was really good. And I watched this video, and want to leave a comment. This is really wonderful and priceless suggestions and advice any Computer Science student ever get, especially in our India. And If people who are watching this video are students, you are really lucky to find this video. Very valuable and real information. Thank you Ravi. It was really helpful even If I am not from Engineering background. I am too late. :) Except that 'C' language thing though. It can be of any one Good language that Big Four company uses. Like Python, C, C++, Java, would be fine.
You are really awesome....you make me realise most of things....i feel happy i have internet connection otherwise i would have never got chance to listen these valuable suggestion.....thanks a alot sir
Those which are from IITs, NITs, IIITs aren't born lucky, they WORKED to get Lucky, to get into those. You shouldn't say that we ARE lucky. This is the truth, no hard feelings.
I didn't get a guide like you during my 1st year of college..! I promise that i would have prepared for GATE if i had a guide to give lectures on the subjects..! Seriously worried for watching this video during the end of 3rd semester :(
I am well versed in C/C++ and Python and its concepts including Data Structures and Algorithms(still a lot to learn). I also know how to use Git, Github but haven't contributed to any OpenSource yet. My Summer Vacations are almost over and I will be going to 4th year of my B.Tech. Should I go for Open Source or just honing my Core CS subjects? I am in I.T branch. Thanks for the lessons! :)
Sir I am very lucky to watch your video in my 1st yr. Sir u practically showed us the gap where we lack and where our college lack. Thank you very much for making the way to product based companies look bit simple.
Why do u say only C programming language is enough? C can't teach us what is object oriented programming and Functional programming which is mandatory in today's trend.
Sir, can you make a video on how to contribute to Open Source?. Thank you Sir, for all the guidelines to get into Product Based Companies...You are the BEST!
I wish I had watched this video when I was in the college :( I didn't even know what product based companies were. It was only companies and their salaries.
You are quite popular . No forum can tarnish your image . Even in my company people speak about and regret of not knowing about the course in their college
That's really a great video. I wish I had watched this video one year before. Because then ,at least, I would have tried to focus on one thing i.e. to make my technical knowledge strong. But now it seems like I have created a blunder for myself. Lets see how things go now.
Sir this video is really a lot informative and helpful. I find myself lucky to have watched this video when i am in 1st year. Thanks a lot for this video sir. but i had a doubt , i have watched this video now in the year 2020. So will the same things apply to get a job in product based company or should there be some changes for the present scenario? It would be really helpful if i get an answer to this question. Thanks a lot for this video sir. Its Really Helpful and very much useful
The video is really best and helpful.please get me the stepwise things to do from 1st year as i am now starting my college.pl.sir it is my humble request
thanku so much Sir, for helping us, to get more aware about the system. sir, I have one most important question regarding my Career. I'm 2 nd yr student of electrical branch from good private collage, but sir, I'm interested in programming, coding. please, suggests me how it is possible for me to get into product based company..

Sir,your lectures are superb!, I'm currently pursuing CSE in a private college and I'm in the first year. How do I increase my knowledge on core topics from the first year itself?
Hii sir, I am working in service based company and completed 2 yrs. I am preparing for gate and also trying for product based company. Can you please guide with the approach for the same.
Hi, Can you please post some motivational videos for the people who are working in MNC companies and are willing to do M.Tech or M.S and want to get into a product based company.. personally i wasted my Under Graduate by not doing any fruitful work and finally landed into a MNC company. How can I prepare myself for a hardworking path to grab a job at product based companies?
