There were times I was choking with emotions watching Nomadland in the theatre, my wife was asking me if it is because of the scene that got me all emotional, but it was sheer brilliant art put up by the entire Nomadland crew, such a powerful content that will uplift your soul to a great dimension
The fact she didn't feel the need to resort to some kind of political statement but instead saw it as an opportunity to share a message of universal understanding. 👍🏻
When i walked out of the theatre watching Nomadland I was like this is probably the finest film made in many decades. A journey seen through the eyes of Fern will take you to new spiritual heights. I could relate to this one on so many different levels. Congratulations to the entire Nomadland team for achieving this feat, and thanks for giving us this excellent art that nourished our soul.

The first time watching this movie I did not even know it was made by an Asian female director. But I did know it is probably the best movie that I have seen in decades. Well deserved and congratulations!

Trully deserved it and about time, a female and of colour won it. I know many alike critised the film goes to show u don't understand what a class film this is.

Not all Chinese-American directors make good/great films; but once in a while some of them craft stunning "out of the hollywood box" masterpieces - Wayne Wang's The Joy Luck Club, Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain (+ Crouching Tiger, HD; Life of Pi) and now this gem from Ms Zhao. (Although Lee was born in Taiwan, he is ethnically Chinese.)
