- Revisiting the high profile new SOG Pentagon from the newly reformed company now known as "Studies and Operations Group." This is certainly a unique (and fidget friendly) tactical / EDC flipper, thumbstud XR locking blade.
Take a look and see what your take is on this, new for 2020 blade.

Classic shape, I'm gonna call it a spear point. Things become a classic for a reason. Your points about competing brands are well taken. In my mind it is priced a little on the high side. I acknowledge that I'm a penny pincher so take that as you will. Still, it does appeal to me. Congrats, looks like you'll start 2021 with over 600 subs.
Thank you, sir! Yes, if you can get a good discount on the Pentagon XR is a solid folder from good materials. Yes, closing in on 600, sights on 1k! 😎👍🗡️
Bought one and I love it!
This is now my favorite daily carry knife, and I own dozens of knives, ranging in price from $10 to $500. I love the Pentagon XR!
Great choice! 👍🗡️👍
SOG and Kershaw are the biggest comeback champs in these last couple years. Had my eyes on this guy, Kiku XHP XR is a beauty as well. The XHP revival is a relieving and welcome Blessing. Love tour channek
I've been happy seeing sog make some good changes. I have the terminus xr and it's really a good little knife. Much like this model very fidgety and well made. I think the price is fair to the quality and materials you get. Great video 👍
Thanks! I might look into picking up the XR Seal once they're back in stock. 👍⚔️👍
The sharp tip is hard to see online. I'm glad you emphasized this point in the review. Now I really like the new lineup of XR-lock knives. I bought two SOG Kiku XR folders. Finally, a hefty knife with three inches of CA legal steel. I also see it as an improvement over the axis lock. Fine review.
Thanks for the review.I think SOG is doing a great job at rebuilding itself. The Flash seems to get great reviews.Looking forward to more from them next year.
One thing that I always think about when I see these crossbar-lock knives is that tiny spring that holds the bar in place. It seems to me that a liner lock etc. is less prone to fail at some point vs. having this little spring snap. I don't know if my perception is correct. I also heard that SOG/GSM customer service is terrible, so idk about getting some spare springs.
This one's been in the collection for quite a while as indicated by the age of this review. While I don't carry it regularly or heavily, the spring hasn't given up yet, however many Benchmade owners have complained about the Omega springs breaking but replacements are easily had. Other manufacturers provide additional springs in the box for that just-in-case moment! 🗡️😁👊
Taiwan does a good job . $90 a midway atm in CTS XHP will defintely be a good user for anyone . I seen they use carbon fiber scales in the lte version which is pretty cool imo .
I’ve thought about picking one of these up as a full size user. It is up there in price with some of my benchmades I think in the 140 price point they sell way more but 30 bucks is t a deal breaker for me
Yeah I think they feel that bumping it up to CTS Steel justifies the price. That is the case for many manufacturers. Thanks for watching! 🗡️👍🗡️
Never had a sog.Been thinking about picking up a Pentagon or Maybe a seal xr.
I'd say they both have the same level of action and sophistication, although I haven't yet been able to get my hands on th Seal XR. Soon, I hope! 👍🗡👍
Just picked one up, and what red blooded American wouldn't want a knife called The Pentagon 🤣. Love my seal xr so this should be fantastic as well.
I also have a seal XR and it's a beast! Enjoy your pentagon! 👊🗡️👍
I can wait to play with it! I also have the ultra xr the most fun (and useful) folding knife I've ever owned It hits way above its weight. @@OGBladeReviews
In Cali this might be illegal? Sense it has a double edge?
Not sure, since only the top of the point is sharpened on the back edge.
I have the black one for my wife
