Well yeah...until they let go a key reason the band achieved most of it's success. Tuomas and Tarja were an unbeatable team...sadly neither act is anywhere close to what it was when they were together IMO
to most people with an IQ, they already are.
I have no words to describe this song, Floor touches you in a way like never before. When she says "another birth, another monster" my heart just melts.
The best song of a whole amazing album because of its lyrics, and that line alone could be enough.

What Tuomas' composes are great compositions with great lyrics.

It's written from the point of view of a current civilization as seen by a future one, anytime. As we see the runes or the mayans, sometime from this time we'll be seen by someone. Hopefully.
As a biologist by profession, this song slayed me totally. The damage we are causing to the other inhabitants of the pale blue dot is shameful, but what are are doing to the animal world, for our own greed, is unforgivable!

As an hobby botanist i agree completly. The problem is it arent only the well known big wild cats who are endagered, but also unspectacular plants and animals 99% of the people even dont know they exist. Its all about protecting untouched nature against economical interests, and thats so difficult, if you eg. show them a plant that for them just looks like a common thistle, but isnt common at all.

It's rare that a band can have it's best artistic achievement after 25 years, but Nightwish somehow took it to another level with this album. Simply breathtaking!
There's something morbidly grandiose about recognizing our own specie's impact on the whole planet, let alone having it put in such a poetic, melodic, almost tranquil way. But this seems to be the way Tuomas thinks and has been thinking, not of his own life alone, but our collective existence. Since Dark Passion Play the lyrics have warped from obvious suicidal thoughts to oblivion of all that is. Guess we should start preparing? Or repent? Or whatever we atheists actually do when facing imminent demise... screw around and do drugs?

Yeah, I never understood that line. But last I saw a documentary about history of the Earth and pikaia were fishlike creatures from the Cambrian explosion. They were the first creatures with something akin of a spine.

What I noticed about myself whenever I listen to new Nightwish music:
The first reaction is most definitely an abundance of goosebumps. Then the melodies and the lyrics start sinking in. After that I start noticing the intricate details Tuomas likes to hide in his compositions. And then, only then does listening to the new material become a full experience. That is why I love this band and will most likely be listening to them until the day I leave this pale blue theatre stage.

I shamelessly wept. I am a small part of this procession. You are a small part of this procession. We were both here in this moment to listen. There are many examples in this human world of bad deeds that cannot be undone. But this song...this album is a good deed that cannot be undone. It should be shared. Let it become well known. Let it start conversations. Let it bring a tear to another cynical eye.

Powerful song, powerful message. Floor is again making use of her amazing ability to project emotions. A beautiful melody about a sad subject. Tuomas doesn't shy away from putting the spotlight on bad things. I prefer this kind of song to most of the "baby, love, tears, yada, yada" you hear today. Truly magnificent.
I don't know why but there's something in this song's emotion that made me listen on it again and again for me this song is one of the best song in the entire album

Which clearly explains why the world is how it is and this is the reason why they've written this song. Music is above all pure poetry not just something u can use to shake your head back and forth.

This song is the apex not only og Nightwish, but probably storytelling in general, like the musical equivalent to One Hundred Years of Solitude. How can we not tell the song and the /band/ themselves were not orchestrated across space and time by an advanced form of life to give us this message? It's literally /impossible/ for us to know. Or to feel, because it's absolutely gorgeous.

Tuomas is my god now! I really can't believe how someone in this modern world writes such beautiful lyrics. I'm impressed. And the best part is that Procession is not his only masterpiece in Nightwish. I am not an English native and I struggled to understand perfectly this song, but I am sure now Tuomas is like a modern Shakespeare.
Tuomas is endeed todays Shakespeare, todays Wagner when it comes to compose, todays Mozart when it comes to genius.

This ended up being my favorite one from the album. First time it used to be Music and Noise, even How's the Heart but all in all music and lyrics here are so devastating and beautiful, plus looking at so many species on the verge of extinction... it's a contundent message.

This is one of the most ambitious and majestic songs ever written, in my opinion. The sad bit is that we won't be here to know if Tuomas' wish to deliver his message will be fulfilled.

i surprised how Nightwish stream the whole album in first day ,i need to buy a copy.
I think they have understood that in today's society, the way to commercial success is to trust people to buy the record even after they've heard the music on RUclips. Many others are fighting a losing battle against copyright issues, pirate copies and all that. I think they are right. They kill off the entire pirate market in Asia, they increase knowledge of the band a thousandfold, so even if only 10% buys the record, the are still winning.
When I saw them live in 2018 we were handed a free copy of Decades upon entry, lol. Nightwish is about the music - not the money. Because of that their music is actually good and not just a product, which keeps their fanbase loyal and growing. Which also earns them more than what they feel they need
They knew the album was already leaked like a week ago, and people was posting crappy self-made videos with the music and lyrics. The only way to "defeat" them was to release an official video for all the songs. They know is a lost cause, people will post the whole album in RUclips anyway, so fans will be pleased and people may listen and then buy the actual album if they like it.
