**SPOILERS** It was definitely a mistake to dagger to tech negotiation at the very end. That move did nothing for me besides blocking someone else from potentially going tech negotiation + minimic film. I should’ve kept the dagger for the combat value - and if I had the game would’ve continued another round and I probably would have been able to improve my placement. Just goes to show how every little decision is important in this game! I’ll do better next time.
The bigger mistake was not realizing that the game was ending that round as soon as Economic Supremacy was revealed. Yellow had Spy Satellites, so him First or Second in the combat would end the game. The only result that would have kept you in it was Yellow getting third in the combat. You still seemed confused about what was going on when the Double Cross came out. The goal of your last round should have been to maximize your tie-breaker against Blue and aim for Second.
I think it’s a massive effort to commentate while playing so you did well. I’m sure if you were 100% focused on the game you would’ve seen those mistakes.
Agreed, Kash000's decision to go after your alliance was terrible. It ultimately cost both of you a VP. (Instead of getting 2VP from friendships, they got 1VP from the alliance.) Not a good strategy in a 4-player game - especially when yellow was already winning.
I gotta say I lucked out with some perfect intrigues at just the right time. Getting Expedite allowed me to grab Invasion Ships and pour them directly into combat, a play I was afraid Rhombur would do as soon as he had the spice. And then that invasion ability got me access to friendship with the Guild and shipping unlocked just on time for my turn as first player - and then continuous shipping all game. At the end I suppose several combat cards would have done the job but getting Double Cross turned out to be exactly the amount of swing I needed. Looking back I think I should have grabbed Spy Satellites first and then Shuttle Fleet the following round. Less a risk someone would take the latter, and I’m lucky Helena didn’t take Spy Satellites in the meantime. There is the potential to still get those faction bumps the normal way I guess, but I was interested in trying to close out the game.
Yeah you were on a ROLL that game, those kind of games always feel great when you’re in them. I think you played super well overall. I do wonder if you would’ve been able to keep that steam going if I didn’t toss away that dagger the last round and we played an additional round - but no way to know for sure 🤷🏻♂️
I think it's close. Helena absolutely should have grabbed Spy Satellites action 1 round 7, and you don't care about her getting the VPs. But it's true that your hope to end the game round 7 mostly depends on getting that 1VP in addition to your two friendships. So in total, I'd agree.
Good game everyone. Beast was a...beast! Very well played. He seemed to have things rolling by the end of round 3. Orski, you had a few tough breaks. Some bad intrigue pulls and a brutal stolen alliance, which definitely hampered your flow. In fact, this game was all about 'flow'; good flow for the Beast, less good flow for Orski and Lannister! What a finish, rapid mobilization and double cross! I know this can be frustrating to face, but it sure was entertaining to watch! Good luck in your next games!
1:00:57 I feel like blue going to selective breeding here was a huge block. I know you weren’t looking at going there, but I think it would have been a great play to go selective breeding with foldspace…. Gets you the friendship point with BG and lets you draw 3 cards (foldspace + SB spot) which should be enough for a spice must flow that round.
Great game! Unfortunate you didnt win. I have one rules question: Shouldn't green have trashed their foldspace at 58:45 ? Or does the game do that automatically at recall?
Very weird. 58:43 green playing a foldspace, not drawing the card, not trashing the card. Is it a visual bug? Also 1:07:44 green doesn't use the ring ability. I am pretty sure you mentioned it's mandatory in another video.
Happy I found this video! Love this game, tons of fun, watching some really strong players is always the best way to learn. Just curious if I could pick your brain for a bit. I come from a competitive gaming background, grew up playing MtG in the early 90s as a kid (and as a bottom of the barrel semi pro on the professional circuit in high school), then video gaming with StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo 2, poker later in life as an adult, and always always endless board games. These days board games are just my jam and I found my way over here from Hodges Terraforming Mars discord community that popped up at the start of Covid back when I was still rank 1 on that ladder while watching some Mars Expert playing Dune the other day and man did these tourney vids spark my interest. As for picking your brain, I’m mid way through watching this game right now at the round where the second shifting allegiances is played and curious about how often you like to mix trashing your weaker 1 persuasion single access cards (Dune, Recon, Daggers) with monopolizing the shipping access play pattern so that your deck functions more consistently for faction access cards?
At 53:17 would consider playing on tabor for water+troop then reserving the great flat for yourself, denying yellow 6 spice, and setting up for a tech buy/highlander play for the next combat. Otherwise super fun and close game!
Hey, great to see some gameplay on digital version! Is there a way to get it? or can you just play rise of IX because it was an app specifically designed for tournament?
Are you guys not playing with Immortality because it wasn't available when the Tournament began, or is there another reason it's not being played with?
It has just started coming out at the time, wasn't fair to be hosting a bit tourney of something very few people had actually played yet. There'll be an inmo tourney soon
GG @Orski78, I honestly felt that I played poorly that game. Elessar definitely deserved the win in that one. His combat wins were so efficient while I was on the recovery and that allowed him to muscle me out a number of times by the time i was ready for combat again.
Why did you not use your barons unique ability to level up 2x factions? In the end? You sent 5 then 4 troops. Thats 2 influences missed. Isnt it? [Time around 1:15:15] ..thats 2 freemen+ and then you could steal alliance
Turn 2, your first move should have been Desert warriors for the masterstroke. You get to have both 2 influence with fremen and spacing guild! Plus push to win double shipping reward for combat!
I disagree - this would be a risky play. His second action really wants to be interstellar shipping, and Beast can put in one troop with their first action and threaten to add 4 more with ring. Then if Orski wants to win the combat he needs to not go IS.
add oil orski ! it is so annoying to play baron with so much useless intrin card :( btw, i think in beast’s sword master trun , u can use the voice to delay his sword master round which will hurt him alot
Yeah it is! Haha yeah I should’ve thought about the voice placement a little more, I don’t think my placement ended up doing much to mess with my opponents

I certainly wouldn’t mind non-commentated games, but I don’t speak for most people I think😊

Oh yeah it was a tough break but it happens - Ellesar played a great game. That finish was insane (but also heartbreaking haha) Thanks for watching !

I like that Orski can't see the other players cards when commenting on his matches. It totally eliminates the 20/20 hindsight commentary.
Thank you! Yeah I’ve always preferred watching 1st person play-throughs of games as well

Immo is the Turmoil of Terraforming,no one asked, just give us more cards and chars.
Where can i Play the Game online?

Being Rhombur behind the Beast seems like a pretty rough position to be in imo.
GG! Yeah Elessar did a great job and pulled ahead quickly, I feel like I ended just trying to play for second most of that game 😅

aha. you can use it once per game... okay :-D
Turn 2, your first move should have been Desert warriors for the masterstroke. You get to have both 2 influence with fremen and spacing guild! Plus push to win double shipping reward for combat!

Another good game! Thanks for posting it up 🎉
Thanks! You’re welcome!
Really looking forward to this one.

2 times you forgot to use the barons ability when you put in 5 and 4 troops in the economic conflict...
Unfortunately you can only use the Barons ability once per game
@@orski78 thx for your reply. That’s my bad. Would be too strong I guess. I thought that’s why he is a A-S Tier leader
Very good videos man, but you are speking a bit fast :)
