This Minnesotan does find it funny when southerners actually have to drive in the snow. It's like most of y'all have no idea what to do in anything other than perfect traction. My uncle drove through Texas in a freak snowstorm (it was like 2" of snow or something). Everyone's in the ditch, no one can move, he gets pulled over twice by cops wondering why he's doing the speed limit. He just pointed to his MN plates and they sent him on his way.

I used to have a bumper sticker that read: "Welcome to Texas. Now go home." I think that there should be a Texas law that states that you can't move here unless the word "y'all" is in your natural, everyday vocabulary.
Driving in the South reminds me of using a slinky on one step you're all going and then all the suddenly 35 miles an hour and about half-an-hour you might make it back up to 65 till the next slight corner

Don’t forget the constant people who are from everywhere internationally. We have to adjust to the way everyone else drives from everywhere. We’re just trying to get to work while everyone else is on vacation!! One of the best lessons I learned in my 20s was to slow down in the rain. Our roads don’t get snow, salted or scraped so all the oil from our cars is on the roads. When it rains, hold on Batman this is gonna be a slippery ride, this what northerners don’t think about.
I remember 2008, I believe. Baton Rouge area got what may as well have been a blizzard. As soon as I realized what was happening, I went to my local hardware/grocery store to get prepared. I had a functioning fireplace and had a gas stove, 2 things many people in rural Louisiana don't have. So I knew to expect extended guests. In short, the 1 mile round trip in the snow taught me to appreciate occasional oil-slick roads. Not even comparable. I couldn't go much beyond 10mph on icy asphalt.
I went to Mississippi once it was 55 degrees and raining they were putting sand on the roads and people were driving slow. I am from the North and was driving fast. No snow or ice at all but people were scared to death.

@bbhjvvbfhvv3357 You're the perfect example of why we don't want Northerners here. In the South, we aren't racist. Good old country boys in the country hills have sported that flag on the back of their trucks & they have been doing it forever. Northerners get offended and they say it's racist. In the South, nobody is racist. We have a way of life, & we get along fine despite the colors of our skin .... then Northerners come in to ruin it all by starting that nonsense of division with their ideology .... trying to divide us using that nonsense. Take some advice from a very successful African American close friend of mine he said, " Racism only exists because you keep talking about it constantly repeating it over & over by saying it exists, if you didn't mention it, it wouldn't exist at all. People keep it alive by speaking it out of their mouths constantly never shutting up about it. We aren't on the plantation anymore, we have plenty of freedoms & we can enjoy success it is there for the taking, and I am proof of it!" You're comment of saying, "racist " is a prime example of it. Thank you for helping us prove it. God bless your heart and have a great day.👍🇺🇸🙏✝️👍
