    I love that this rec center feels totally different from the one you built in the wharf district. I feel like the wharf district is definitely catered to younger sims and the parents of younger sims. but this one is more skewed to older sims in general. which I think works really well for your rags to riches series since the first kids willow and ash are kids and soon to be teens, I can imagine them hanging out here all the time with their friends after school

    I did a set of 4 Victorian row homes on this lot. I think it makes sense for a San Francisco based world, but I do wish we could use them as apartments

      Yeah it’s perfect for victorian homes or the marina style (flat roof with bay window)

      If you have a computer rather than console, then you can put a household in one of the row houses, and then populate the others with "roommates" using the LittleMsSam's Roommates mod. Assign them beds in the other homes, and then lock the doors so that only the inhabitants of those particular homes can enter the doors to their own home. I do something similar in my medieval save so my royal family can live in their castle but have other people living in the various outbuildings.

    I think this lot would work great if we could put multiple lot types together - I imagine very squished terraces with a clutter of small flats, family homes and teensy shops all cluttered together on this strip. (I can already imagine a community of mom n pop shops that haven't sold out to the Landgraab Company and are fighting the gentrification of the area lol)

    Okay but why did they think a 40x20 lot (with 3 open sides) would be a good idea? In a family, residential world?!?
    It would definitely be a challenge to do a non awkward house here

    • @werosification
      @werosification Год назад +30

      where i live it's pretty common to have a long piece of land with a house in the front and garden in the back. sometimes you have "pretty" garden next to the house and a "practical" one with fruit trees further back. so i feel like the size is fine, but yeah, the 3 open sides and a location is very weird. it could work in henford with other similar houses next to it, but definitely not here.

    • @andyv2209
      @andyv2209 Год назад +49

      They intended for this lot to be used as a community type lot rather than residential. There are a few lots they make that way. I like it because its tempting to always make families but then they don't have much to do if you do up the world with no cool places to visit.

    • @user-oy4vu3ck3u
      @user-oy4vu3ck3u Год назад +34

      I kind of like it. It spawns near the splash pads (closer than the rec centre) so I think it was always intended as commercial, they just didn't want to build it.

  • @taratbd

    I love this world but wish they gave us a larger variety of lot sizes - I felt like most of them were too small to use as legacy gameplay, but I also try to avoid bulldozing existing townie lots unless I have no choice. In this case theres only one large lot and I had to bulldoze a townie house (with backstory) to use it.

    Even a vet is nice here, like the clinic is on the left street and the private home is on the right street.

  • @planettv

    This is what TS4 needs, a game pack that is all about arcades and carnivals. There are things from other packs that would work well with this like the Ferris Wheel, the ice cream stand, etc. Here are some things from previous games that could be brought back for that idea.
    pool tables (TS1, TS2 and TS3), pinball machine (TS1, TS2 and TS3), mini golf (TS1), Merry-go-rounds (TS2) and Seesaws (TS3), Mechanical bull (TS1 & TS3), Dancing cage (TS1), the volleyball net (The volleyball net could allow no more than 4 sims, kids and up, on each side) (TS1), Archery (TS1), and ax throwing (TS2)
    All-in-one Bathrooms from TS3. They would be perfect for the house types from Tiny Living and for sims players who do rags to riches. Yes, I know someone did convert these, but it would nice to them have in TS4. Maybe they could be slotted to work on Treehouses.
    Proper Arcade machines: claw machine (TS3), arcade basketball (TS3 store), Table top arcade (TS3 & TS3 Store), Skee ball (TS3), ones like the 3 Smack-A-Gnome! games (TS3) (there was also one from TS1 like that called Whack-A-Will!) and just regular size machines like the ones from TS1, TS2 and TS3
    Carnival Stuff: Love tester machine, food eating contest, Tanning booth, Apple bobbing tank, Face painting booth and the kissing booth from TS3. Carousel, Classic Gumball Machine, Hot Air Balloon from TS3 store. From TS1: Strength O Meter, Chicken Toss Game, Bust-A-Clown Game and Captain Popper's Dart Game
    Snow Cone Maker (TS3), Cotton Candy (TS1 & TS3 Store), Wood Fire Oven (TS3 Store), deep fryer (TS3 Store), and the Chun Co. Teppanyaki Grill (TS3 Store), The Smoothie stand (TS1) (They could just update exiting food stands to serve smoothies. TS1 smoothies are Banana Berry, the Apple Combination smoothie and the Strawberry Freeze.), They could have add food carts like the hot dog cart from TS1 and even add one for pretzels.
    Food Trucks (TS3): The food you can get from it is Hot dog, Taco, Burrito, Clam Chowder, Hamburger, and Plasmafruit Chowder. Some TS3 Seasons food could be added to it like Hot Wings, Nachos, Onion Rings, Grasshopper Pie, French Fries, Chili Cheese Fries, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Cuban Sandwich and Lemonade. Some new food that could added: poutine, Pierogies, cheese curds, funnel cakes, corn dogs, Croffle, Gyros, Falafel, Satay, Fried chicken, Meat pies, Paczki, donuts/doughnuts, Pavlova, Vacherin, Lamington, Eton mess, Mille-feuille, Peach Melba, and Profiteroles. The game could have multiple food trucks like ones for grill cheese with different types, one for desserts, one for breakfast, one for donuts/doughnuts, one for tacos, nachos and burritos, one for pizza, one for international cuisine, one for Ice Cream with the Colored Popsicle, Freezer Bunny Popsicle, Fudge Popsicle from the TS3, along with some others and the ones from TS4 High School Years, etc. Your sims could be allowed to run there own food stand, food cart or food truck, in addition to the restaurants in Dine Out. If sims are able to do this, then the player would get to decide the menu.

    I made a craftsman home with a long backyard for my legacy challenge (playing with some non traditional rules so I can move lots throughout) and it works fairly well. The only annoying thing is that sims keep coming in the backdoor because it's technically closer to the spawn point even when the front door is set as such. But mostly it totally works. I like being near the splash pad. Wish the "loves water" quirk counted for loving playing in the splash pad tho

    This is so cool! This would be an amazing rec center for the real world. So many options, and all of them so fun. So glad that carpet is part of the canon now. Nothing else can capture that Vibe.
    If I were to use this for myself, I might take out two of the bowling alleys and put in a shoe rental instead, because it's such a classic part of both bowling and roller skating. Not that they could use that, but having a big old shoe closet with a food service desk at the front would make it look kind of right, and it would be so cool. Oh, and have a jukebox in the roller rink!

    Our YMCA rec centers here have a gym, swimming, an outside field for soccer. Also you could make one and incorporate get together and make clubs. Like a swimming team or art club ECT.

    I built an outdoor event area there. Mostly for weddings or even big outdoor parties and I love it for that

    Hey James, I have a cool new idea for you to try!
    It's more like a challenge if anything lol. The challenge is that in every episode of this series, the language of the game changes to something random!
    So you'd either make a new sim or something from the current world. The only rules are: You're not allowed to translate anything, or use a friend to help.
    And you'll have to get 100k Simoleans and have 10 children and a house worth of 500k.
    Good luck :D
    Ps love the vids, keep it up!

    How about a community centre for elders where they can play games or chess have a knitting or cross stich club also a piano recital room and a small little cosey tea room. We don't have much for elders at the moment.

    So i have a home on this lot and honestly the colors are a good change to the plain ones. My home has brown stone on the house and a white siding. And the roof is brown too. Its a pop of color compared to the plain grey and white around the neighborhood so good choice in colors!

    I will mention that, from experience, the rock climbing walls break in the rain. So that may need a roof. 😅

    You should do a massive family resturant for familys to let their kids go nuts like the ones with only booths and with play equipments and ball pits and game machines. Oh i wish they had claw machines in the sims!!!!
