Imagine a Sims x Barbie collab
Okay, now THAT is a brand collab I would pay for! An official Barbie Dreamhouse lot on the Gallery, Barbie inspired furniture, Barbie CAS, maybe a new job or skill (since Barbie can do or be anything)! And imagine Barbie making official dolls of Sims characters like Bella Goth or Nancy Landgraab, or fashion packs of Sims 4 clothing! It'd be super cute if the dolls had a Plumbob accessory on like a headband, too! Forget Moschino and MAC, we need to get Mattel on this!

I was a huge fan of the show "Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse" back then, and i must say, this house is PERFECT. It really reminded me of the dreamhouse from the show and even the toy (that i always wanted, but it was too expensive) . Anyway, i love it!
My one problem with this house is that there should have been rooms for all of her sisters... The house looks great tho. 😂

Re the somewhat awkward house layout, I would highly recommend looking up floorplans when you do recreations. It's really educational and makes exploring architectural styles outside of your comfort zone a lot easier!
My experience is that the stairs are a huge factor in laying out a house like this, giving it the same cohesion inside that we see outside. They're often in the middle, creating a "u" shape for the living area with the kitchen and dining rooms on one side, family rooms, bathrooms, and studies on the other. This layout also make it natural to have, say, four bedrooms on the top floor connected by jack and jill bathrooms or a shared seating area.
Simsie - when else are we going to be able to make the pool pink?

Love it- personally I would have switched Barbie’s bathroom for the closet to have longer walls of the closets. I would think she’d prioritize her clothes more lol

I loved how it turned out! Now I was wondering if maybe could you built the actual dreamhouse that we can see in the series 🩷 there are two versions of it, the one from the dreamhouse series and the one from the adventures with the Roberts family series, I think it would be a fun experience

Agreed! 😁 🍑 I'm in Savannah, and this house looks like it was pulled right off Bluff Drive... also reminiscent of the Owens-Thomas house in the historic district. Sav'h also has an all pink historic mansion that's now used as a restaurant & literally named "The Pink House". 🩷

A house like that would totally have one of those "princess" staircases in the entry way - you know, the double staircases curving on either side that ends in an upper landing/balcony that overlooks the entrance. And then a little sitting area between the two staircases. We really really need curving stairs in The Sims 4.

Yeah I blinked and the furnishing was done, but overall you did a great job and it looks pretty much like an exact copy for what we can do in the sims, the inside is always very pretty furnished, I would love to download this from the gallery and clutter it up, I absolutely love clutter 😭

i just found ur channel few days ago and started playing sims, i just can't stop playing and i've been watching so many of ur videos looking for tips and stuff, u saved my life, literally, tysm
When I was a kid in the 90's I had a Barbie's Magic Dreamhouse computer game. It was boring, yet I spent a lot of time exploring it. Basically you show up at her front door, ring the bell, and Barbie invites you in before disappearing and leaving you to explore. Clicking on things changed the colors so you could redesign the space to a point. And yeah the pool swatches were very out there. Not just pink, but think pink with blue stars all over it. stuff like that. Anyway, once the horse pack comes out, it might be fun to try and recreate THAT house. They had an entryway, livingroom (which had two sections if I remember correctly), kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, patio, pool, garage, stable, and of course an outside the front door area that you only get to explore when you first arrived (or at least I never had found a way to go back to that area after Barbie let me in.) But yeah, the game has a good foundation to get started in the Sim build. The only thing I think would be difficult would be the fact that the pool had a slide and I don't think Sims 4 has a pool slide? If it does it's in a pack I don't have.

You should totally rebuild as many of these as you can leading up to the movie! Imo there are quite a few that more or less look like the same house, so you could probably organize them by architectural style, choose your favorites, and rebuild a Barbie Newcrest! I think leaving them unfurnished would be more than fair. It could be a save file of Barbie Dreamhouse shells.

Indiana with the corn is very accurate. Close to harvest time the corn is so tall and thick you can't see around corners when you're driving. My mom's house is surrounded by corn fields a ND it's really creepy when it gets foggy lol

I love these and my imidate thought was to build these houses in the sims! Love that you had that thought too. I really, really like the Cape Cod styles and the New England Barbie homes. Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. I also really like the cute little Wisconsin house.
I absolutely loved this video!! Fully embracing pink (like you should) was a good choice. If you ever recreate other Barbie houses, I think build only exterior and leaving the house blank/empty would be good too!!

This is why I often struggle with making house builds in The Sims and also town layouts in Simcity/Cities Skylines. In the UK most of our houses have a similar design to Nebraskan and Iowa houses but rather than each house being in the middle of an individual plot of land they are connected together either as long strips of houses or in pairs. Large houses aren't really a thing unless they're divided into flats or are owned by the extremely wealthy living far from normal civilization. Since I've always lived in a semi-detatched it's very difficult for me to visualise how to design a large house that is more than the standard 2/3 bedroom + 1 bathroom house with a hall, stairs and landing or the infamous open floor plans that are used in a lot of American builds with kitchen islands and kitchens as big as a football stadium. You can barely swing a cat in ours!
