One thing I love about JHS show is how they always demo the pedals in a jam with drums + bass so you can get a sense of how it will sound in a practical context.
Yup, & I don't know of any other channel that regularly demos pedals this way (honestly most pedal/gear "demo" channels seem to be turning into nothing but paid Yesmen/Hypemen adverts. @ this point a YT video showing why a given pedal is flawed, bad, overpriced, or even just inferior to a similar alternative pedal is worth a 1,000 demos/ positive "reviews" (if 99%+ of all review videos are positive & almost never negative, then they aren't reviews at all & that youtuber looks extremely untrustworthy & most likely are so). Few YTers even mention anything negative at all about a piece of gear, even in their hour long tit-job/love letter. (even the greatest of gear has some flaws or payoffs that may not be optimal to certain people, setups, genres, etc.)
I hate to admit it, but I really dug the poetry time jam. Addison's bass line was amazing. And the guitar and drums really drove it home at the end there!
First jam with the ratlicker and the delay is one of my top 10 JHS jams for sure. You three should get a singer onboard and make a record! I’d buy it. And Little Brother Energy is a great name.
Even though I haven’t learned to play guitar yet, I love watching you guys talk about your passion. Makes me wish I could shred lol Great quality show as always!
Start now! I’ve been playing since high school and can’t imagine my life without music. Playing with my silly little bar band once or twice a week makes all life’s bullshit worth it! Go get it!
This is the band the world needs right now. Your guys ability to grab a pedal, craft a song, and play it are so top tier. Better than most everything that garners any attention in the mainstream nowadays for sure. We want a JHS Jams mixtape on vinyl!
@jhs what is the name of the pedal or effects unit is Nick talking into to change his voice to sound robotic throughout the video? I need one for a project. #jhs #jhsrocks
Poetry No symmetry Telemetry of a fallen angel Sympathy for the angle I want more of everything But I want less of me You simplified You simulated You simultaneously got inflated The highest note Never reached Infinity But it tried Points for effervescence
Dude's poetry jam sorta walked alone if ya ask me. His mic was pouring fire, and yet immersed in a world surrounded by them, would receive not the love of a single pedal.
Im really happy that you have this channel up. As a hard core gear geek, its awesome to be able to hear some circuits that I may of never heard other wise. And the jokes make it that much better. Like maybe 1cm, but better is better! Do it to it.
Possibly the best episode y’all have ever done. I thought the Flamma envelope filter, with Joshua just going for it was the high point, but then y’all went into the Cab Sym section, and the poetry, and the beats, and the Nick treated vocals, and the fing spot on Addison bass lines, and then, I dunno, how here else on the Interwebs can you experience this? Good Sir I say no where. I said No Where Good Sir!
Great episode on every level. The pedal info, the jams, the poetry, the humor, and the general vibe are awesome. Best 90 minutes on RUclips I've spend in a long time.
This is my favorite live from you guys. It's like a sleepover where everyone is super tired but refuses to go to sleep and the delirium makes everything hilarious.
The Comedy and poems aren't bad, but seriously I could listen to josh playing guitar all freaking day. Also I have a box full of pedal boxes in my garage because of this show lol
Tim of Uncle Ernie's Effects is a friend of mine is a super stand-up guy and an electronics whiz. And he puts his heart into his work and each pedal he makes. I've had the Booster on my pedalboard for a bit now, and it's the only thing I run between my guitar and Dual Rectifier. It really works wonders on that amp, and I highly recommend one if you can find them.
Addison, my 86 yo Mom has hot water with her breakfast every morning. She doesn't look a day over 60 so kudos to you for re-introducing the fountain of youth!
Omg, this livestream is 🔥🔥🔥 today. My god I needed the family members who died from poetry and the fresh clips commercial. You’ve all turned my day around.
#nelscline would have been proud....if you guys didn't know you had my heart, then you mention Nels Cline the one the only and now I'm just so smitten with you boys at the JHSSHOW, you guys are skilled, hilarious, committed. and to top off all that you have style, hence the Nels Cline WOUld be proud comment...haha I love. you guys and Nels.
When will JHS introduce a mother all fuzz pedal? The Mobius of Fuzz! I'm pretty sure it will be a massive hit . You have everything in your house you need to design such a monster. Why don't you? Please take my money :)
Belatedly answering your @1:15 question Josh I put a Digitech CabDryVR with cheap Joyo Brit or AC Tone analog amp sims as a budget DI solution. I'm a semi tube snob that hears the ones and zero's with Axe and Helix rigs and it totally hangs at a fraction of the cost with the benefit of being able to toss my own pedals in front of it with no programming hassle!
First jam, holy shit! Takes me back to the early 90's rolling through the south jersey pines. Windows down, summer eve sunset, nice fat one with the boys....
Having watched everything that you guys have put on YT, I have come to the conclusion that, if you colab with a good vocalist/ lyricist, I would be buying everything you put out.
Dadtime/jamtime "song" reminded me of the original boat trip in Willy Wonkers factory! I feel blessed to have witnessed such a psychedelic impromptu performance....... Awesome 🥳
I think it's so nice and inclusive of the JHS show group to include Joshua in the proceedings. I think it speaks volumes to their understanding of how every member of a team can contribute to a social identity, in their own special way. Leave no man behind. That said, my favorite witnessed attribute of his is: his need to clarify correct pronunciation of words. Lots of words. Charming. It reminds me of my own small home town, strangely - there are two ways to get everywhere. And, also strangely, neither of them is a shortcut. They both get you to your destination at equal speed, no matter how hard you try to hack the system. But I do remember originally there was just calming Josh ("it's fine...")....and then there was secret creative weapon Nick....and then the bass player Addison came on camera, where he now also belongs....and now, Joshua, in all his glory. A fabulous team, multi-faceted....I gotta say, I really do love this show. ESPECIALLY after "Tone Squad". What's better than puppets? Masterstroke. Favorite episode that comes to mind? The Christmas QVC-style phone-in telethon show. Great humorous chemistry in evidence, plus: community. Wow. Thank you and keep it up! I'll keep watching

And it's not the same old blues licks 🙂
Yes this ^^
AND THEY SOUND FANTASTIC! Need to get a petition going to get the JHS Show Band to do a record and/or tour.
I hate to admit it, but I really dug the poetry time jam. Addison's bass line was amazing. And the guitar and drums really drove it home at the end there!
The one with the flamma envelope pedal was extremely tight. Can we get more poetry time? Like, for real, my serotonin levels peaked.
Yup
Joshua bringing the artfulness to some tasty jams
I got an ad about my prostate on this.
"I want more of everything, but I want less of me"
pure poetry
I can imagine a handful of bands for which this would be a perfect lyric to build a song around.

Right as it peaked I was thinking this same exact thing. Holy crap that was good.
I'd go see them on tour
Love that you guys always try pedals on bass. Lots of us bass guys like to make noise(es).
Not even a bass guy myself but there’s no reason to not make every instrument interesting and weird
Even though I haven’t learned to play guitar yet, I love watching you guys talk about your passion. Makes me wish I could shred lol Great quality show as always!
Well then it's the right time to pick up the instrument! You'll be thankful you learnt it for a lifetime :D
playing pedals = better than playing guitar

It’s been said before but lord Nick be having drum sounds better than stuff coming out on records today. What is going ON?!??? Sounds SO GOOD
Boys. That envelope jam took me to another level of consciousness. I bow. I clap. I weep. I smile. I am.
You know it's a legendary episode when your in as much of a trance as they are.
NUX stuff is amazing. The greatest quality/price ratio in the market right now. I can't wait to get my hands on the Amp Academy.
Agreed , I have the Drive Core and the Micro Amp w the Clean, Drive, and Metal Cores built in. Sounds better than its look alike competition.
Poetry jam was sick. Someone tell Nick Offerman the JHS guys are jamming on Wendell Berry. He will be stoked.
Wait, does Offerman like Wendell Berry!? 😍
This is the band the world needs right now.

What a great team you are. The spirit... the mood... the show... amazing.

@@jhspedals JHS Poetry Jams with The JHS Band ft. Joshua "Heavy as a Fetha'" on the spoken word mic. Let's do this! 🤔🎶📢📓💡
the poetry reading is killing me , so perfect. : ). Best episode in a while, maybe ever?
Dude's poetry jam sorta walked alone if ya ask me. His mic was pouring fire, and yet immersed in a world surrounded by them, would receive not the love of a single pedal.
The envelope filter jam felt like it was a rehearsed spoken word band's performance. Amazing

Totally hit the thumbs up once Josh started rapping!!!! Pure Gold!!!
Thanks JHS for the review. You certainly got me back at the bench!!
Great episode on every level. The pedal info, the jams, the poetry, the humor, and the general vibe are awesome. Best 90 minutes on RUclips I've spend in a long time.
Man, this poetry jam is the best one yet! Way to go, Joshwa!
The ERAS is my favorite pedal that I own, I love it so much that we dropped our first record and the ERAS is on every track 🤩
Yeah, it's super rad.
This episode was amazing. The show needs more Joshua reading poetry over jams.
You guys rock! You’re show has been a source of knowledge, positivity and good feelings over the years I’ve been watching. Way to be.
can I just say, nick is a hell of a drummer
He's honestly amazing.
The autowah jam is probably the best jam you guys have done! My wife even commented about it from the other room.
Tim of Uncle Ernie's Effects is a friend of mine is a super stand-up guy and an electronics whiz. And he puts his heart into his work and each pedal he makes. Easily one of the best episodes ever. 👏👏👏👍👍👍
I would like more of Joshua doing dramatic readings over everyone else jamming out.
As soon as the live was over, Josh looked at me and said, "You should bring in a different poetry book every week," lol.
It was awesome!
I enjoyed viewers writing in some poetry for J to read. Only on this channel, man...
@@jhspedals now THAT is a good job/gig
So alive and expressive! This episode I’d say is super deluxe!
The second jam on the gnomon was pure legit-ness!
Nick vs the drum machine is the rock version of John Henry vs the steam drill.
John Henry dies of a heart attack, right?
@@jhspedals Keeping it real! 🤣🤣🤣
Okay, the funky jam with the poem narration put a big smile on my face. It sounded so righteous, the thickness of the art :)
Loved all the jams... thx!
Joshua finally found his groove on the Flamma Envelope Filter extended poetry jam. Best poetry jam evah!
I also really appreciated the Jenny Was a Friend of Mine bass lick at the end
I feel asleep with phones on. I literally was dreaming, having integrated completely, this show into my dream. Man
Addison, my 86 yo Mom has hot water with her breakfast every morning. She doesn't look a day over 60 so kudos to you for re-introducing the fountain of youth!
Those jams tho! This episode was awesome guys. Seriously the best hour and a half of my day today.

Sick drumming and musics in this ep, I must say. BRAVO!!!!
The Man Drinks HOT WATER!!!!!!!!!!
He partakes of the hot Water!!!!
😂😂😂😂 These guys are hilarious!!!! 😂
Thanks JHS jamsters, this was a nice distraction while I sit in bed with COVID. And the Special Cranker sounds so good.
Dang! Hope you get well soon with no lingering effects!
That jam with the special cracker and the tone was 🔥🔥🔥
So much fun, as always.
How right Josh is! The Flamma Envelope Filter Demo was so good that I just went out and bought one🎸
Ok - the “Dead Poets Society” quip from Nick legitimately had me laugh out loud.
Ratlicker with Nu-X Tape Echo jam was "Instant Mogwai"!
Addison love your bass playing
You’ve been growing on me and you are solid af there 🤘
Love that Neil young jam. The Special Cranker sounds awesome to my ear.
The Uncle Ernie Booster sounded quality!! Definitely gonna looking at getting one, good price
WENDELL BERRY in a pedal video! Joshua is taking this to another level! Thanks!

the last 9 minutes of this might be the best 9 minutes of any new and notable ever.
"Flipping over a cop car and helping an elderly person cross the street...in B" So good.
Love that Clutch-like jam with spoken word just after 1:00.00
Glorious. Utterly glorious.
Hey guys, great episode. So, maybe play as a group around KC? With jams like what you all just pulled off! Amazing!
I wanna JHS Pedal Show merch design with the subcaption "don't forget to mute your mics"
1:08:35 also, this is so intense!!! I freakin LOVE it. I’d listen to this on the regular. This whole jam is one of your best.
So the flamma jam including poetry very much conjured Jeff Wayne’s war of the worlds. Very nice.
When will JHS introduce a mother all fuzz pedal? The Mobius of Fuzz! I'm pretty sure it will be a massive hit . You have everything in your house you need to design such a monster. Why don't you? Please take my money :)
It will be self destructive to his own fuzz series. But i like your proposal.
Ah, the long awaited MobiFuzz!
How about the morbius of fuzzes?
25:05 this is great! Watching this as european, it gave me the feeling of watching real USA advertisement. Couldn't stop laughing.
Props to the engineer this sounds amazing

One of the best, if not the best New and Notable!
Wow. That was really inspiring. The Unle Ernie;s pedal is now showing at $185.
The Cascade Gnomon jam: Wow. Just. Wow.
