The thing is, is The Chilipeppers and Radio head are 2 totally completly diffrent types of music.. they are both REALLY talented and good what they do.
you are so right dude. to each his own, not everyone can appreciate all styles of music. just cause you dont like it doesnt mean it sucks. even thom yorke likes radiohead (he rocks the hell out during one of their performances on Jools when he was there)
killer song 2 cover for anyone but im glad its him cause im not a big fan of others covering radiohead, they just lack something, but john shines in his own special way a lot like thom
@WETtheband the peppers became known world wide after frusciante joined them. his guitar playing, vocals, energy, etc. are part of what made their songs in the 90s/00s so popular. not to mention that he wrote a lot of the material in their more recent efforts. he wouldn't be here without them, and they wouldn't be here without him. he can leave whenever he wants. it's not like the peppers are in their prime or need more money.
Dude, I love Frusciante, but I wouldn't say Greenwood is not in the same arena as Frusciante. Seriously, Greenwood is one of the most unique players I have ever heard. His voicings are really good and his touch is very nice. Frusciante might be better, but not far better.
i like this guy playing this song. he adds to the songs atmosphere. most covers are just members learning tabs, hes just using one instrument not even used in thr song. its original. and he sounds better than radiohead when they do it live.
how awesome is this? i had no idea frusciante was a radiohead fan! its like my favourite guitarist playing one of my favourite songs ever! anyone know any other frusciante/radiohead songs? rhcp rule.
Guys calm down, Frusciante's voice is amazing, but Anthony and Thom have these hauntingly charismatic vocals that send chills down your spine and strike you with a rush of adrenaline, I'm not saying Frusciante is a bad singer, just pointing out their different qualities. Radiohead
i think john frusciante understands something about music that i wish he could explain to me don't argue rhcp vs radiohead just listen to niandra lades and to record only water for ten days thres something about it that is so utterly removed from pretense
@eazzy93 radiohead are currently just as commercial as RHCP, if not more. While the RHCP are not known to play prog/experimental rock, that doesn't mean that their music isn't artistic or diverse. Any great RHCP concert proves that. Sure they've become more of a pop band, but their great musicianship is still there.
I always liked Frusciante solo more than I liked the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I find his solo stuff and even in his performances of covers like this, have so much more grit and heart. But as one person here said earlier: John Frusciante=awesome, Radiohead=awesome, John Frusciante covering Radiohead=awesome giving awesome tribute to the awesome
I completely agaree. I was responding to someone who said that the two were not even in the same ball park in terms of being important guitar players, insinuating that Johnny Greenwood is more important. It might be sort of analogous to comparing say, Jimmy Page and Steve Howe: Two totally different players, but both brilliant in their own right.
another case of apples and oranges, pots and kettles. Frusciante is a god of Funk. Radiohead is alternative in every sense of the word. are they both amazing? yes. are they the best at what they do? i'd say yes. oh, and if you don't believe that Frusciante is amazing, check out "Mr. John Frusciante Goes Off" on this site :)
i've noticed that subconciously i've started to incorporate frusciante's playing style into my own guitar playing. it's very chunky and nice. not quite as soft and gentle as the radiohead original.
If Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and John Frusciante collaborated on a song.......I could die a happy man
Let's sign a petition for John to record with Atoms for Peace for there next album.
It would be epic
totalmente i agree
Seria épico! ✌
a Radiohead masterpiece played by John Frusciante! Holy musical synthesis!
My left ear really enjoyed this.
Radiohead = Awesome
John Frusciante = Awesome
John Frusciante covering Radiohead = Awesome
It has been 14 years since this video was uploaded on RUclips, and I just discovered this beauty.
Wow.....Radiohead is my favorite band, but Frusciante is my favorite guitarist.....this is just orgasm to my ears :D PS rhcp are my 2nd fav band!!!!!!

Great cover overall; one of the best artists ever covering one of the best artists ever.
But I gotta say, it's "ghost horses", not "goahhaoahaoagh"
this is amazing. i knew he had a 'lucky' cover, but this is real tight. glad to see he's into amnesiac as well.
Wow. That really was brilliant.

Why is it only coming out my left speaker!
I want John in full Stereo!

great cover!
you are so right dude. to each his own, not everyone can appreciate all styles of music. just cause you dont like it doesnt mean it sucks. even thom yorke likes radiohead (he rocks the hell out during one of their performances on Jools when he was there)

He stepped up his singing game for this one.
frusciante es lo mas grande que existe!!!
DAMN...awesome cover...as expected frm JF!

Holy Roooman Empiiiiyerrrrr

FRUSCIANTE IS A FUCKING GENIUS
I've never even heard of this guy, but that was pretty fucking rad!

Thanks... just... thanks.
killer song 2 cover for anyone but im glad its him cause im not a big fan of others covering radiohead, they just lack something, but john shines in his own special way a lot like thom
@WETtheband

he sure does cover a lot of radiohead
"L.A. weekly awards". Yes.
the in between hair!
nice one
Ha! Agreed.
Ghost horses? lol awesome performance!
there should be laws against the destruction of art like this
I didn't know who the hell John Frusciante was until watching this, but this is pretty rockin.
good shit
not bad not bad
If anyone here's has the complete footage, in VHS or DVD, please contact me.
agreed. Frusciante is a genius and it's pretty fucking apparent in his body of work.
Frusciante has a great voice, rhcp should let him sing every once in a while.
I love this combination.
@eNRGy27 oh man, I wish to see that, too.
That would be absolutely magical!
Dude, I love Frusciante, but I wouldn't say Greenwood is not in the same arena as Frusciante. Seriously, Greenwood is one of the most unique players I have ever heard. His voicings are really good and his touch is very nice. Frusciante might be better, but not far better.
oh, my bad, yeah that is a typo. i meant to type chili peppers something. my typos tend to be entire words misplacements. weird.
i like this guy playing this song. he adds to the songs atmosphere. most covers are just members learning tabs, hes just using one instrument not even used in thr song. its original.

shit gave me chillis
Cool, didn't know he was a fan.
how awesome is this? i had no idea frusciante was a radiohead fan! its like my favourite guitarist playing one of my favourite songs ever! anyone know any other frusciante/radiohead songs? rhcp rule.
yea
it sounds like he doesn't know the last line..
ghost horses
actually, i just found out what it was today, and it's been my fav. song since 2001
Guys calm down, Frusciante's voice is amazing, but Anthony and Thom have these hauntingly charismatic vocals that send chills down your spine and strike you with a rush of adrenaline, I'm not saying Frusciante is a bad singer, just pointing out their different qualities.
Radiohead
this IS awesome. Radiohead is god and john is awesome, by far the best part of rhcp.
Does anyone know what kind of strings he uses on his acoustic? Or at least what kind of strings give a similar tone
haha its cool to see frusciante likes radiohead, beacause i do like them both
Posted 18 years ago wow!
mr frusciante's jams have that "flow" to them , if ya know what i mean....
i think john frusciante understands something about music that i wish he could explain to me
don't argue rhcp vs radiohead just listen to niandra lades and to record only water for ten days thres something about it that is so utterly removed from pretense
Looks like a double or triple 0 martin guitar.. They are often used for finger picking.
@eazzy93

I feel bad ass when i sing this song.
i didnt think Frusciante would have been into radiohead... still cool
OMG OMG OMG OMG
i've heard to cover from radiohead (lucky and this) are there other covers ?
Yeah i prefer Greenwood, he's my favourite musician in the world, but i do like John :) It's a nice cover
Frusciante loves Radiohead baby, this is for you below, you need to live more.
I believe it's 2004
