- In this episode we tackle the end of wheat harvest and the first big break out of straw baling! The fields are extremely wet, so we have to utilize new innovations like the Arcusin Forstak and 4wd telehandlers to clean up the fields as quick as possible with as little destruction as possible. We are running a Massey 2270 large square baler and creating 1100-1300 lb bales. Let us know what you think! Thank you everyone for the support
You guys really look like you have fun together. Not many people can crack jokes and laugh at the tail end of a 13-14hr work day. I love the content
Thank you!
You and Justin might need to start an Outfit of the Day series with the bright shirts. The people need to know your sources.
Haha what a great idea! We are INCREDIBLY stylish
Just found and subscribed to your channel today. I very much enjoy your presentation style and intelligent down to earth way you do your videos. Adding you guys to our farmers prayer list as well. Thanks for what you do and many long hours.
Thank you very much Jeff
I dont know why but I've always been fascinated with farming
Nice shades!

August first cutting...ugh! The weather has not been kind this year! Tell Carl to stop doing his rain dances!
There is a nice break in the weather coming soon!
Now that's a crew getting stuff done! You almost killed Bob? lol
Haha he keeps up just fine
Nice !!!
Thank you!
I think it's kind of funny how almost anyone that owns a big square baler it's either a heston a New Holland or a krone, you see very little of any other brand. We have a Massey Ferguson heston.
What the name of the music that starts at 9:10? Loved the video 10/10 the drone footagewas Phenomenal. Good work!
Thank you so much! It is called "Party Pop" by DMT Productions
You need a tow hitch on the jcb a lot tow bales here behind them
We do have one on one of our machines
Hi just learning about wheat harvest and was wondering who typically buys the straw from farmers and how much could they get for their straw? I hear some farmers burn them, some just leave it on the field, so just curious how much one gets baling and selling. Thanks great video!
This all went to a dairy farm for feed rations and bedding
Is there a big market for straw there? Live in TN and usually straw either don’t get bailed or is sold in the field pretty cheap. Don’t get me wrong it’s not like nobody bails it and sells it. Just not worth the work to most farmers unless they’ve had it sold to the same people for years.
We had some pipelines run through the area the past few years that really bumped up the price of straw for awhile and farms were pretty happy to bale it up, that phenomenon has kinda subsided unfortunately. Now, demand is back to mostly cattle barns and some dairy farms for feed mix. The past 12 months or so we have seen most stuff sell for somewhere in the realm of $90-160/ton. That's not really numbers that make us excited to make significant amounts each year
@@FarmingInsider that’s pretty close to what it sells here for as well. Mostly to construction companies, water and electric cooperatives, stuff like that. Some bedding, but we don’t have as many dairy farms here as we used to. We do have the walking horse capital near by so I imagine there is a decent demand there.
What town are you guys out of we farm around Wellington to new London to Sullivan out to spencer
Our main farm is in Valley City but we work all around you it seems. Based on the locations you gave I guarantee we’ve passed each other on the road
@ 22:30 Why don't you drive in reverse?
That’s not a bad idea at all. I can’t remember my exact mindset but probably bc I wanted to keep holding the camera easily
Do y’all combine corn or beans?
Yes sir, primarily corn and beans
