I surfed in a Surf contest against Yancy Spencer in the late 60's at Navarre Beach. He was just a kid and I was in high school. He easily won his heat by getting great nose rides. He was small and could stand on the nose for a long time..

Right on. Yeah he was a gulf coast legend for sure. Super nice guy. Sad that he passed at such a young age. Both his boys rip!! Thanks for watching 😎🤙🏼

Bro! So bummed! I took time off from work and waited around the pier until about 12 and nothing showed up, so I went back to work. Super stoked for you guys though! Glad someone got on the swell!🏄🏻‍♂️

Im from Ft Walton. Live in Jacksonville now. There is nothing quite like scoringnfun surf in the Gulf. I def miss the clear water

If we could have Jacksonville’s waves with Fort Walton’s clear water it would be an epic combo!

Everybody totally understands your mentality in California even though in places like Huntington Beach the waves are always that size. But I could never live, in a place with Hurricanes every summer. So Sad! I mean we get the Mega Crowds especially during last weekends Pacific Air Show, and the US Open of Surfing and Spring Break too. I can't imagine risking owning property.

Can’t tell you how many hurricane swells I scored on Florida’s west coast at the detriment to the northern gulf coast region over the years. Living in SW Florida we took the lump on the head this time. And it hurts! Good bless everyone who had to suffer and those that reaped the goods from this storm.

Bummer that those north winds squashed the swell for Okaloosa County, but I’m grateful they helped keep Ian out of Tampa Bay 🤷‍♂️✌️

It’s definitely not some great surf destination but we get our share of waves. Check out a bunch of my videos. It’ll give you a good idea of the difference conditions. If you download the magic seaweed app it’ll show you spots.

Thanks dude! Yeah I was watching that forecast shrink more every day and eventually down to almost nothing. The swell had a slight Out of the SE angle on it so I figured Navarre or Pensacola had to be bigger. Luckily I had a short work day and was able to get over there. Definitely worth the ride. And yeah with those 360 cameras you can get a barrel on every wave if you want lol 🤣🤙🏼
