There should be a sign "These are trained soldiers, trained in the art of warfare, physically and mentally fit, disciplined and devoted to their duty." Treat them with respect.
Sadly, people do mock them and do silly things. I have seen so many videos in which people ridicule them or do things such as drop a glove inside an enclosure to see what one of The Guards would do. I do not comprehend this mentality. For example, someone even touched a Guard's sword and was obviously reprimanded.
Guards are above the silliness and stupidity of the tourists. May be even gone beyond having a laugh at tourists' expense in majority of cases. They are highly trained professional military people. To be proud of.
Be honest, how many of you wanted that guard to knock them on the noggin' with that sword? I know it is not kind, but that kind of disrespect deserves a swift reminder. Kudos to the Guard and his horse for their patience.

I don’t understand why these idiotic teenagers don’t realise they are a) risking in their own lives or at least injury should the horse kick/bite b) although these horses are highly trained and are selected on their suitability, they are still sentient beings whose nature is to flee from danger. That makes them unstable under saddle if something is deeply disturbing them - like an immature teenager jumping around and flapping her arms! You could see the horse fidgeting, chomping on the bit, needing a bit more control from the rider than before she came on scene. Had it continued or escalated the horse could have swung round and crushed her, her friend or even worse the soldier could have become unseated and that could cause serious if not fatal injury in the box or on the concrete around. I don’t see a problem with having your photo taken by the animal nor do I see stroking the horse (though not the bony structure of its nose which is very sensitive) and I love seeing how the horses behave around small children, I understand that they are part of the pageantry of the country and as such are a tourist attraction but I don’t think this bad behaviour would be acceptable in any other country and it shouldn’t here. Just show some blooming respect! There needs to be someone around to move people on if they aren’t showing respect!

I like how the guard subtely moved them on initially with the horses forward movement, like that's long enough, move on, when they hung around too long. You can see how the guard is in complete control and if anything happened he would bring the weight of that entire horse down on any situation if needed. The tourists see it as a joke though which is sad as they are very professional.
Girl in the green top, stop being an idiot around horses! 1] Remove your gloves and put your hand out flat with the fingers together, just UNDER the horses nose, so that he can smell you. 2] Don't make any sudden or jerky moves. 3] Gently, but firmly stroke the horse's neck. DON'T make it tickly or it will just irritate the horse. 4] Get your snap. 5] Thank the guard for his work [shove a £10 note in his boot, but let him know that you're about to do that, if you are really appreciative] 6] Move along if other people are trying to get snaps.
WTH? They asked/told the trooper several times to hold the horse still for them. Total twats. If the trooper didn’t want to say something, there should have been police officers close by to see this shit and tell the girls to move along. One of them said, “what is this place?”. Smh
Never quite know why at least one police officer isn't stationed near the horses watching out for trouble. Or daft teenagers. The sign says horses may kick or bite, that horse missed out on several opportunities unfortunately.
