I love that you used the same pattern and changed details. It also seems like you are halfway to Four Seasons of Gunne Sax. (The Gunne Sax patterns from the 70s I have are mostly definitely summer and spring)
Now that's a fun idea!
When I was a child in the 70s getting a Gunne Sax dress was the must have of that time.
I was enough out of fashion enough to not realize just how fashionable my light blue bridesmaid dress was!
The winter one could be Gunne Saxtice like solstice.
There’s not much better than a soft, frilly, cotton dress that fits perfectly! Unless it’s a soft, frilly cotton dress with reindeer on it🤣
Oh my goodness. I loved the Gunne Saxoween dress but I like this one even more. The waistband really makes it. It’s super flattering.
The ripping of the panels is SO satisfying. I would've also put lace on the waist band and at the top of the skirt band, but that's just me.
I love the fabric. The little deers are so cute and you look stunning as always 😊
Thank you! ♥️
The lace pulls in the white from the deer. I like it
My absolute favorite part of the holidays is all the deer decorations. If I had all the money in the world, I would have a house full of deer. Nobody could stop me. But for now I'll enjoy seeing them on this adorable dress X)
Old enough I had Christmas gunney's when they were in. :) Love that rudolph dress!
The dress is AMAZING!! The fabric is so perfect. the tiny print, plaid and lace is on point. It reminds me of our family pictures taken at Olen Mills in the 80s. My mom was ALL ABOUT the Gunne Sax look.
Just the right amount of lace and the right amount of swirl.
I told you those dresses are addictive. This is so much fun! Got me wanting to make one, too and I haven’t made one in nearly forty years.
I had 6 originals back in the 70's! I may need to make a few now!😊💚
The lace is perfect and finishes the bottom nicely.
Perfectly adorable! I vote it can be worn all winter, not just for Christmas!
The white trim pulls the dress together. Love it!
I think there should be an action figure of you in this dress! With additional dresses and jumpers for other times of the year... Too cute!
It looks great, and it looks great on you! I reckon you could wear it any season you want - not just for Christmas. From any distance it looks like the deer are sprigs of flowers on a dark green background. When you're looking closer you get the nice surprise that the "flowers" are really deer. That' s a sparkle of fun that will put a smile on people's faces and the world needs sparkles of fun all year!
It's so heckin cute! That seriously is the best fabric. Can't wait to see the bodice.
Love Lion just chilling in your backyard in those final shots
It came out so cute! Christmas lodge-core is an apt name for the aesthetic. The lace really does set off the plaid trim really well.
Im volunteering that Christmas Cabin-Core to be the style name. Mostly because I'm a sucker for a alliteration.
I didn't think it possible, but this is even cuter than the Halloween version!
Oh I love this! And I am glad you did not use the peppermint fabric! 😉
This one is so stinking cute. The cut and color contrast points make it so, so flattering. You should replicate it exactly with non-holiday fabric and wear it twice a week
I love that so many people are making Gunne Sax dresses right now. I have a vintage GS pattern setting out to become dresses for my girls in a couple months.
Lovely dress. Those were some dramatic ripping sounds, there!
This is perfection at its finest
This one fits better and it turned out so cute! Great job, you look stunning in it.
It's so cute!!! I love the dear on the fabric. I am thinking that the vintage Christmas this is going on this year. I saw a cake decorated with a similar dear on it. Just so cute.
That dress is so freakin CUTE on you!!
the neck is really nice and so different, love it🥰
I love how this turned out! And yes, the lace was absolutely needed. I can’t wait to see the velvet bodice to go with it.
You make it such a treat to watch you as you go thru the process of decisions to put together a beautiful sewing project!
that halloween dress is so stunning on you...if it ain't broke don't fix it.!
I love your style of dresses. I live vicariously through your wardrobe (I am a good 30 years older than you and would look....😣😣😣) so keep them coming!
I would have NEVER chosen the plaid to go with this...but OH MY how much I love it now!! This dress is amazing!
Your enthusiasm and excitement is so infectious. You always make me smile. A tonic on a low day. May your Christmas be happy and bright.
I'm in Australia but I want, want, want that peppermint twist fabric! How gorgeous. We don't have anything like that. 😢
dang it that's so freaking cute! I really want one of these dresses. All my prints are summer themed so guess that's when I'll hopping on this bandwagon
So cute! And the fit is perfect 😍 You could make some more with less seasonal prints… you definitely should, it fits like a dream :)
Really very pretty indeed. You have a real knack matching faBrics, I would have never have picked those, but they’re perfect
Bris
This dress is so pretty! It looks like a hallmark fairytale! 😻 Possible name suggestions for the winter dress: Gunne-snow dress? Snowgunne dress?
Oh my gosh, I love snowgunne! And thank you!
And now a Gunne Sax gingerbread dress is now on my to-do list... Maybe royal icing sugar cookie.
How frickin cute are you in that dress! Love it!
This is such a cute dress!
I love what you did with the lace. So pretty & so gunne sax!
Gunne sax dresses are so versatile and flattering! Love it
This turned out so freaking cute! I think I like this one better than the Halloween dress, surprisingly, because Halloween is everything for me. I may have whispered, yes twirl girl, during the reveal. Can't wait to see the over bodice ❤️
Oh my goodness! It's so heckin' cute 😍
So cute! The reindeer fabric is perfect and I love this style too
You’re right that looks great on you the fit is so good
What a beautiful dress on you!!! So cute 🥰!!! 💖💖💖
I love the dress, I wasn't sure about the plaid but it looks great and the lace looks stunning too. Seasons greetings xx
I love, love, love thisdress!!!! Fantastic job!!!💚👏👏👏👏Merry Christmas!
I absolutely LOVE how this came out! Can’t wait to see it with the velvet on top. Stinkin cute!
I just call some of them little house on the prairie dresses.
Love the lace on it. Looking forward to the velvet addition. Well done!
I've always been a little nervous about coordinating prints but you make it look so easy and fun. Adorable dress.
So jealous, I need to get on this level! You look great as always
The design and colour of the material is lovely. Have a Happy Xmas.
That looks great. I loved those dresses and skirts like that. I stopped wearing them in the 90s, mostly because the skirts wore out. I need to make some for myself again.
I have a vintage pattern with the higher stand collar on the back as you described. It is really fun addition to the sweetheart neckline.
My Gunne Sax dress was a light blue cotton & white lace long bridesmaid dress with a white plastic "straw" hat that I wore for my college roommates wedding.
One observation about the Gunne Sax inspired dresses that are being made today - the fabrics are too stiff. Quilting cottons do not drape enough. The original dresses were made of cotton muslin or gauze with a very soft hand...
Love it! A little ruffle around the neckline would have been cute too.
Your dress came out so beautifully
I just love Guune Sax dresses! Yours are mo exception. This one is just sooooo cute.
Sooo blipping cute! It fits you so good!💜 I want the pattern, please think about making it so I can purchase it😉😁
LOVE it. And the lace at the neck and the ruffle are perfect.
Sew excited for this video! The dress looks incredible!
I just ordered my fabric to make my Gunne Saxmas dress! I plan to make a fairly simple one with a free camisole dress pattern I found, but do a pleated skirt and add a bit of lace. I looked up Gunne Saxmas and it’s so neat to see everyone’s different dresses they made. Your’s came out absolutely beautiful!
Love this dress, you look so good in it. I really need to make one.
IT
LOOKS
GREAT!
I just love this Gunne Sax series! Would you consider doing a Gunne Sax dress for your Felicity or Samantha dolls? I've yet to find a pattern for American Girl dolls with that "Gunne Sax flair"!
Thank you! I probably won't make one for them, just because I prefer to be able to make what I wear!
This is so cute!
It turned out beautifully!
It’s SOOOO cute!!
Adorable!!!!!! love it xxxx
Love love love!!!
its soooo cute!!
So cuteeeeeee!
I love it so much! Well done!
So cute!!!!
That is so beautiful
It's such a great dress😍
Love it!
Wow the dress looks adorable, and the style and look really fit you so well. You need to use this pattern as a base for many future dresses ( they don't necessarily have to be in a Gunne Sax style, but on the other hand, why not😍 ?)
Positively love this dress. Adorable and perfect for the holidays. I have to say I'm so glad you decided against the candy cane design. Cute but I don't think it would have done it justice. Can't wait to see the bodice with it. Have a great Christmas and look forward to future videos. Also have to say been following you for couple of years. Your hair is getting longer and you look like you are losing weight. You are so beautiful, keep up the good work.
The dress is lovely! I fit looks better than the first one.
That dress is stunning and makes me want to attempt clothing sewing for myself again!!
I love your dress! And thank you for sharing it with us And Merry Christmas
Omg I need this dress!!
I LOVE your dress! You look sooo cute in it!! :D
Happy Holidays, Lady Rebecca!! :D
Lovely! "Christmas Lodge" is a great description.
*Chilly Sax Dress* for a wintery Gunne Sax dress?
Oh...wow!
I hope you have a wonderful Xmas and a happy New year. The dress looks great, very xmasy
Lodgecore, I love it!!
ss early Love this dress. It is very late 70s early 80s. I love that whole vibe!
I had Gunne Sax dresses for my High School and College graduations. This is a great version. Your choice of fabrics and trims really compliment your hair and skin tone.
very cute!
I was wanting to do a Christmas dress too but blanked on mixing fabrics. Your video really helped.
Just beautiful! The fabric is adorable" and do I see in the thumbnail that a certain matching deer has been obtained? 😁 I concur with others that this trend definitely needs to continue, perhaps one for each holiday? (Or even fandoms like Harry Potter? They have many cool fabrics to choose from!)
Thank you! You'll see the deer a bit more in this week's video 😉 And I've started in the wintery one, but it's possible I might do additional ones in the future, too.
i can't believe how flattering that style is on you....I think I like that style better than any thing you have made....love it...you also need a spring/summer dress too. you can make short sleeves with cuffs for the summer /spring version....please think about it ok?
Just a friendly reminder that Christmas in July is a thing 😉. That dress is so cute and I am going to have to look into getting a pattern or finally learning to draft my own and make a few. Especially a Harry Potter one to wear if I make it to Universal Studios anytime soon.
