Gotta say Matt has to be one of the coolest people out there!
Been following them since 2005 and man, this band has always been a leading light of music for me and Matt is a top guy, hope to meet them all some day

Shogun is my favourite song/masterpiece ever. This made me fall in love with the song even more. Which I didn't know was at all possible. Matt your voice gets better and better every time I hear you. The dude on the piano is incredible also!

In my opinion Shogun is the best and most complete song you ever done. When I bought my MKH 7 string signature 2 years ago I played this song beside Calamity all day long
I remember in high school as I was first being introduced to metal, some of my buddies got me into Trivium by playing the Shogun album. To this day still my favorite album and song. The journey the song takes you on was just like nothing I'd experienced before. Then one day I stumbled across this guy's original piano cover of the song and it blew my mind. I'm glad Matt saw the update and gave him a shout out.

I remember this dude from years ago! I remember watching his videos on Mudvayne, All That Remains, etc. I hope he gets back into it again. I go back and randomly watch his stuff. Reminds me of such a simpler time in life.
Do you remember every lyric you’ve ever written? Ten albums worth of songs and remembering every part is very impressive.
Matt doesn't write lyrics the traditional way. He uses a mad-libs book from the early '90s.
Dont forget that he is literally standing in front of a 3 screen computer, so he can pull up any lyrics he wants to :D

Maybe this is the reason Trivium played Shogun when I saw them in LA last year! Hearing Shogun live - ALL 11 MINUTES - was SICKENING!!!! I was so shook when I heard the intro!!! The last 2 times I’ve seen Trivium they played Down From The Sky (one of my all time favorites) but Shogun?!??? It took the cake. 🎂 I gotta thank this guy for inspiring Trivium to play Shogun live!!!

Employees would come up to the piano and pour their souls into their playing on breaks throughout the day and night...I wish Shawn Smith worked there...Each note he plays is just spot on with the Articulation, etc...He's an incredible Talent Stack...I would advise he just keep on keeping on!💥!

Nothing, just practice some more on timing and technique and wait for your voice to age. Keep practicing and honing your voice from this young age and u will freaking rock!
