Conservative Illinoisians: let's blame Chicago for all of the corruption and taxes despite the fact that Chicago is only 1/4 of the state population and is responsible for paying most of the state taxes and 7/9 of the economic productivity.
Only 1/4 of the state but yet Chicago still gets all the money from taxes and also trumps all the votes down south.... yeah thats what I call corruption. Go to Springfield and listen to the state politicians and the policies. No one from outside of Chicago can get anything done. Everything we have GOES to Chicago. Yes u ppl need to be ur own state.
😂😂 Well Chicago runs the state too. The rest of us are living with taxation with out representation. Both US senators and the Governor care only about crook County. It's also odd that when there's a big lottery winner, it's most often the Windy City. Don't tell me that more people live in Chicago than the whole rest of the state. Along with that, the biggest number of winners are quick picks, so how come those tickets are distributed other locations? Like it's been said many times, Chicago not only earned it's corrupt reputation,it maintains it . Keep up the great job Prickster, businesses and people are leaving in droves, like pissants packing sugar. As long as Chicago is happy, that's all that matters.

I've been to Illinois many times on business and have had, for the most part a pleasant time. Illinois is a good state, especially in the Chicagoland area.
If you're done hating on illinois, here are some facts you missed. Illinois is the only Midwestern state that believes women have a right to bodily autonomy and making their own healthcare decisions. Illinois has the first - and strictest - data privacy law in the nation. Illinois (Chicago) has the broadest, finest examples of architecture in the world. Also, the world's first skyscraper was built in Chicago. Illinois' official snack food is popcorn. Illinois also has some of the strictest building fire codes in the nation. I hope I don't have to tell you why. The Lincoln Park Zoo is the nation's oldest public zoo. The iconic Route 66, one of the first transcontinental highways in the country and which runs all the way to California, starts in Illinois. Illinois has the 2nd highest number of railroad miles after Texas. And you're welcome.

Downstate Illinois is what we call the area from Danville IL to St Louis. It is where you see the Amish area, farmland, and "The Silicon Prairie"...a cluster of research areas around Urbana and Champaign where the University of Illinois is.
Chicago doesn't get lake effect snow that often. The winds and big winter storms in the Great Lakes region come mostly from the northwest, so it's shorelines that are on the east sides of the lakes that get lake effect. Buffalo, Rochester, and Cleveland are the big lake effect cities.
Chicago is beautiful. No matter where u go. South, west. They have beautiful people and kind people. Just be careful and don't get to comfortable. It's my home. I love Chicago.
I agree Chicago is a great place for sure!!
I want whatever she's smoking!
Cousin It in what way?
Charles Dewey I want whatever YOU’RE smoking lol
Great video. Illinois born and bred. This video is on point and so true. I’ve lived north of I80 and south of I64. Shawnee Forrest should have been mentioned... the legacy of al Capone truly lives on here in Illinois
We had our own Al Capone down here. Charlie Birger, the last person to get hanged in Illinois. My grandpa met him.
@@nelsonmcatee3721 and the Sheltons from Wayne county
Except Lincoln wasn’t from Illinois, he was from a small town in Kentucky. Moved to Illinois when he was a kid. Do people actually not look for facts?
Born and bred? Are you pregnant?
From Illinois originally. Once took my cousins from Scotland on a road trip. I said to them, take a look at the name of this town coming up ... "Normal" and this one ... "Farmer City".
Ha! I live in Normal!
Tara Kissel ive been there and its a pretty chill place
Should’ve took him to sandwich IL
Bloomington-Normal is one of the better spots in Illinois i feel like
@@davidfrazier6536 One time when we played them in high school, some kids made a banner and hung it from the water tower next to the football field that said, "Eat Sandwich."
I've lived in Illinois my whole life and throughout it all our politicians are corrupt we still have our former governor in jail still if we can't change something quick a lot of Illinois people are moving
Where to Curt?
Top 10 in declining population, people LEAVING!
If Illinois would ask for more tech company’s to come in it would help a lot. Especially video game studios.
@@rob20ist Unfortunately not going to happen. Illinois is one of the least friendly states for business.

6:20 " You also have Aurora, which is, Aurora". Spot on decripstion of Aurora. One of the first cities to have electric street lights and provides a nice river veiw. It also has a strange amount of crime and gang activity for being between a rich mostly white city to the right and cornfields to the left. If your having trouble deciding if you want to visit or not, just flip a coin.
I'll stick to north Aurora!?
Yeah Aurora used to have a Hispanic gang problem but it has cooled down. I remember my parents taking me to the East Aurora flea market ( rough spot ). Early 2000s
Yeah from what Ive seen from doing jobs out there recently compared to 6 years ago it does look better. And if you dont include the cop car that blew up during the george floyed riots really its starting to seem no worse than naperville so that aint bad
Im curious about the current Marion and Carbondale.
Pretty much the same for many years. Carbondale is actually bigger than Marion. Carbondale has S.I.U. and Marion has capitalized on retail near interstate 57.
@@brucebooker8346
Ok. Thanks for the reply.
was just there 6 months ago. Carbondale has went down the drain.

Im in southeast WI. I like it here minus the snow and freezing temps. I have family spread out in Illinois. I never cared for Illinois but when i traveled through Carbondale and Marion 10 yrs ago, it seemed nice and was hoping it was a few less inches of snow. I was told north of Paducah KY was nice but nothing really there. Guess ill have to wait until i find the right location. I dont want to go somewhere where there's alot of crime and too expensive to live.
Nick, your singing is improving, as I trust my standup is.
When does the Mappy clan go on "Maury"?
Mappy on Maury OMG I wonder if he'd do a cameo and humor us and make the reveal???!?? Frank's a genius.
Maury would say "Mappy...you are the father!"
Laughed so hard when you brought up centralia. Accurate. Worked there a lot. It's only getting worse too
Mousetown's worse. At least Centralia still has a basketball team to be proud of!
Amazing and completely spot on!
I go to Illinois like every other month for one reason or other
I grew up in the town next to Centralia, stayed in town south of Bloomington/Normal for a summer and have family in Northern part. I live in NC now. I miss the ground freezing and killing the bugs, but not the effects of politics via high taxes and regulations.
Almost expect saying to never going to the south side of Chicago, it’s actually pretty safe and nice if you don’t go to the crappy neighborhoods
I drove through it quickly, to visit Arizona, didn't stop to pee!
@@aminamoore5660💥 100% agree
I live in a great town and ive lived here for 3 years and i have loved it here since day one
Without even trying,I can point out interesting places you left out. Cahokia Mounds,a pre-Columbian Native American site,Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois with beautiful rocky hills and forests,a part of which is called Garden of the Gods.Another interesting spot is Cave in the Rock,a large cave facing the Ohio River on the southeastern side of the state. Not too far from St.Louis are the Mammoth Caves.
You dropped the ball on this one.
well i mentioned the cahokia mountains at least you missed that Eileen :)
Mammoth Cave is near Russellville Kentucky a good hour South of Louisville, and a long way from Saint Louis!
Al Capone used to hang out in Beardstown. It used to be referred to as 'little Chicago.
I referr to it as ' the taint of the midwest'.
Southern IL is pretty different from the rest. A bit upset that you barely mentioned Shawnee Hills area, Little Egypt, the fishing and hunting, wineries.
Shawnee is nice, but the cities could go for a Rehaul. I’m gonna go visit sometime this fall, where are some goof wineries near Carbondale-Marion?
Chicago doesn't get actual lake effect snow off lakes Michigan though... Western Michigan does..Chicago and Milwaukee are usually shielded
My memories of Illinois are all good and positive. A great place to raise a family and grow up as a kid. I would love to go back to that but I couldn't stand to see how much it has changed so I never will. It matters more where you are born than it does where you die.
But what about the White Sox?
White sucks?
What’s the worst east city
East Saint Louis
East Chicago
East Cleveland
East Cleveland
East Camden, NJ...
East LA
East Mansfield, OH (Part of the city of Mansfield,OH)
Nick Johnson I thought you said East Saint Louis was the worst place on earth lol
What no one is saying is that Illinois is one of the five highest taxed states in the country.
Yup 2nd only to New Jersey
You didn't mention about movie "Home alone" and that famous house in chicago. I even have address of that house 😄😄 I love your video's allways waiting new video. Good luck 😉👍

The south side of Chicago has some super nice and rich areas like Beverly. It’s can also be a lot of fun. As long as you know where your going it’s very safe. Saying you never want to go there is honestly super idiotic and really shows you don’t know what your talking about in that area
You didn't mention Starved Rock or Shawnee
Taylorville Illinois, home of the famous horse dragging and the greasy Bills Toasty restaurant
Illinois is one of those places that is amazing but horrible at the same time. I love to visit but I think I would lose it in those Midwest winters after a few years lmao!
It's not to bad. But in the direct city it can be inconvenient.
It isn’t that horrible. Compared to hurricanes, earthquakes, tropical storms in other states. Illinois doesn’t have natural disasters.
