Bought one last moth from Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI and this is a guitar with fingerboard action that is extraordinary for a guitar below $1k. Kudos to the setup guys. It is a beautiful dark guitar. Even the pickup, tuner and electronics is okay, but not that important since I don't use amplification on my acoustics (use a mic). The sound is warm AND bright, but not twangy like the spruce top version. It strums and pics great. Both low and high ends are enjoyable.
I bought this guitar brand new in July 2024. It does sound awesome. Play the G chord and you will hear the "martin sound"! I got mine for $857 out the door from Musicians Friend.
Nice guitar.. I have the RS1 version from a few years ago and love the warm tone, it is a pretty quiet guitar which I'm OK with but I've heard complaints.. its a great value guitar but the 15 series is only another few hundred pounds more and is an even better deal. Imo 😁
Hi. I am looking to buy either this or the 15-series. Do you think you could explain in more detail why the 15 is a better purchase for the prise? Thank you
@@Shacklin123 hey there.. both guitars are great and I'm guessing you'd be happy with either.. The road series martin is an amazing deal, its an intermediate guitar that punches above its weight, its warm and it has a kinda compressed sound.. nothing bad to say about the guitar .. the 15 series is just a step above the road series, looks and feels a bit more classy, is also warm but its much much clearer, better projection and about half the weight.. the smaller neck on the 15 series took a little getting used to and even now I am a bit more delicate playing the 15 series.. the main thing I can say about both guitars is they are warm sounding .. I have a few expensive guitars and although I love my road series martin I can hear that it's missing something that the expensive guitars have got! This doesn't apply when talking about the 15 series.. it can go toe to toe with guitars 4x the price and sound every bit as fancy, full and easy to play.. I'd seriously recommend the 15 series! I'd maybe even say its worth twice as much as they are charging... whatever guitar you go for remember they are strung up with martin strings and they suck! get them off ASAP to unlock the real voice .. good luck regardless of what you go for... another guitar that punches above its weight at a similar price is the 114e taylors, very surprising but there ya go... good luck mate 👍
@@krismcreynolds984 Hi man, nice reading all this - I know i'm a bit late, but which strings do you recommend using on Martin guitars like these - the road series and 15 series? I've used Elixir strings a lot, on my furch guitar. What's your take? When it comes to Martin guitars, getting the "warm sound" As you described? - Anton.
So many “tone woods” are endangered, rare and very expensive. I like sapele because it’s sustainable, beautiful and sounds great. Guitar makers, especially manufacturers of acoustic instruments, need to start thinking outside the box about woods. And even manufactured wood and laminated products.
I bought this D10e as my first beginner guitar. After 1.5 years I gave it to my future son-in-law as his first guitar. Months later I had to go to his Beverly Hills flat to show him how to clean the dust off it, how to find the picks and capo inside the case pocket. Fucking actors! Can't even act like a guitar player.
Yes medium strings. I’m replacing with Martin 12 lights Life Span 2.0. I absolutely love the sound of this model. I own a HD-28, I bought new in the 90s. It sounds great. But I have to say, I play the D10-E more often. For the price point, this model is a very good value. This Road Series model is the most economical model. Ah, but don’t let the price fool You. This particular Martin dreadnought delivers gorgeous tones and at an affordable price. Strumming chords sound so beautifully balanced. This has a Mid bump and a slightly bit brighter than the HD-28 - yet never harsh or weak sounding . It flat out sounds beautiful. So it’s not as loud or warm as the HD-28. However from a purely play and listening experience, this baby delivers the goods. Quite amazing. I was tuning it yesterday and noticed how long my high e string sustained. I Plucked the high e string with normal force using my index finger and timed how long before I couldn’t hear the sustained note. My ears heard the note sounding for 13 seconds, and my hearing is not what it used to be. I don’t know the technical terms for what the internal construction and bracing do sonically. All I can say is it becomes very apparent that the design elements work together to make this a great acoustic guitar.

It’s pronounced SA-PEEL-EE
That sounds terrible😂
why not have someone truly demo it? what is this guy doing? who is he playing with?
I was hoping you knew how to pronounce it lol
Maybe for a beater. Martinez not my taste. Prefer the real thing
No bullshit 800 dollars for a landfill guitar
Yeah but I also like not paying 1200 more dollars for something that's not 1200 dollars better
@@adrian5b agree adrian - I played this at guitar center and it felt better than the 3k acoustics from all the brands maybe the action was perfect ?
