Really appreciate the update Lars, Thank you. I knew you would.
I thought there was a facet limit of around 10,000, clearly I was wrong. Yet another thing learnt from your awesome videos.

Thanks Lars for Update, was wondering how to go about if we would want to use it on CM for a CNC part cut?

Yes, maybe it should be a follow up. You can machine the mesh file in CAM

Lars, I really appreciate your efforts in showing how to work with STL's. I have a a laser scan for a product I would like to modify. The scanning company produced a high density scan with 2.5 million facets. I got them to reduce it to 256,000 facets but that is as far as they could go. I've tried Fusion and Meshmixer to try and further reduce this file size but I can't get a solid model of any quality. Is it possible to use sculpting or some other tool to overlay the complex model with something that can be made into a solid? The scanned object I am working with is an exhaust manifold.
    Thanks,
    Dan

Hi Dan McNarry Thank you for watching!
My first thought was, do you need the entire model? Can you cut it up in sections, convert the sections and then maybe put it together again later?
There is also the potion to pull sculpt surface to the mesh

Can you do a video for an STL that has multiple parts? I have an issue that after converting to Brep I try to select one part but it automatically selects all of them.

I will put it on the list.
What kind of product are you trying to bring into Fusion?

I dont have mesh workspace , please advice.

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  6 лет назад

You need to have a mesh file, like an stl open to see the mesh workspace

    • @dudemcgee256

Turn off capture design history before opening the file. Then open your .stl or .obj and it should be there.

My software looks different than yours, I don't have a Mesh drop down at all. What gives?

I had an .stl open. It was a GM ls3 cylinder head. I figured out the problem though. Unless you turn off capture design history it won't even show a "mesh" drop down.

Lars, thank you for all your help learning F360. Over at the Shaper Origin owner group we are debating the different software options for creating files to use with the Origin. They make great videos which you have probably seen. I suggested to Sam at the Shaper team that you might be interested in making a video of creating a part for the Origin, perhaps a two-part where you create the file and then Sam makes the part. The part could be a screwdriver rack or similar, something that new Origin owners can make by following the video. If that is appealing to you drop me a line at my alternate (throw-away) email ibsenafshar@yahoo.com and I will help connect you to them.
And, thanks again for helping make F360 so easy to pick up.

      Hi Brian,
Yes, I saw you email and will respond there also, just falling behind a little :-)
Normally someone from Shaper Origin would reach out if they are interested in doing something.
