Lars, I've just recently started using Fusion360 and your videos have helped me a lot! Instead of getting overwhelmed, I have benefited from your wisdom in guiding me on what to focus on as a Fusion360 n00b. Plus you are a great teacher! Thank you!
Hi Hari, thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. Really happy you found them helpful! I'll keep them coming. Have an awesome day! Best, Lars
I am so new at this that it has taken me 2 days to draw the first part of a GEAR PULLER. I am now hung up on changing the shape of a solid. I hope I find the answer soon. I appreciate your tutorials a lot, they are clear, concise and to the point. Thank you professor.
Hi Mike, Just use press/pull. You will see that the command turns into extrude when adding material. The only real difference is that the press/pull can also add radius. Have an awesome day!
Hi Lars, I love your videos! Some good tips here. One question. what's the difference between Q Press Pull & E Extrude. Are these 2 hot keys for the same thing? or is there a difference? Thanks
Hi Roger, Thank you for taking the time to comment. That is a great question that I do not know the answer to.It seems like they are acting the same. I have asked one of the Fusion experts, and will let you know what I find out. :-) Have an awesome weekend!
hallo Lars I like the vids a lot to help me to get started in (con)fusion 360. I am not the fawtest when it comes to learning drafting programs, therefor I really appreciate your efforts. one thing that would help me even more , if you could highlight the cursor so it is easier to follow its movements on the screen. Thanks again for your great work!
Hi Lars, do you have video on how to move/rotate by construction plane which is the first thing to know before starting sketches. Videos I've seen always start at blank or new which easier to get but when you upload a solid file it turns confusing on object/sketch rotation or selection of entities need to move or translate in one command.
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! Go and click your name in the upper right and select preferences. Then, click Preview in the left dialog box and check the first item "Sketch- color sketch geometry based on constraint status." I did not realize that was made the difference on the line color when recording the video :-)
Hi Lars, I really like your tutorial videos. Much appreciation for the effort! I can't seem to find a Fusion 360 video on bevel gears and meshing bevel gears, have you done one? or does it get into nuclear science? would love a basic tutorial on gears and bevel gears. Also enabling contact in gears for some reason does not work....is it something i'm doing wrong?
Great tips. Thanks! I noticed recently I'm unable to use the midpoint (x) of a line when assigning constraints. Do you have any insight as to why this disappeared?
+Lars Christensen I can invite you later today, but it occurs consistently in any project. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a result of my recent upgrade to Windows 10... Just to be clear, the midpoint constraint is available. The midpoint of a line is what no longer appears. I frequently use the line midpoint to apply horizon/vert constraints and the midpoint "x" point no longer appears.
I posed this question to Taylor Stein in his recent tips video as well. Apparently, after the most recent update, the midpoint "x" is still available, but you must hold down shift to make it visible. Thanks for your great videos!
Lars Christensen yeah that looks like what you posted with your video. Maybe I can grab a screen shot off the video and make something from that. Thanks!
as usual you made another nice video, what if, one like me ask you to make video about customizing fusion cam tool library, would you please do that? thanks
Enjoy your training videos. Have you taught a lesson regarding slicing an object and transfering the slices to a DFX file where I can either cut the slices out on my laser or CNC Plasma cutter? I would then assemble wood or metal slices to a "Stacked" object.
Reset view - nice to see that features is there, rather than rotating whole model, but I want my front to be bottom - it only offers front or top? (My files always come out wrong way when loading STL into my slicer )
Hi Lars, love your tutorials and how you explain and teach everything in detail. I have just started using Fusion 360 and I'm using MacBook Pro. Before Fusion 360 i was using Sketchup and am quite used to few shortcut keys for Panning and Orbit. Can you tell me what keys along with mouse i can use to Pan and Orbit while still staying within the election?
hi lars, your videos are so helpfull to me, i have a one question, can you export geometry from fusion 360 to inventor ? if the answer is yes, how i do ? (sorry for my "english", is not my mother tongue) thanks !!!
Hi Julio, First do not apologize! Your English is great!! Yes, you can export your Fusion model to Inventor. Check out the first 3 minutes of this video and you should be all set ruclips.net/video/KUF_cqFvt18/видео.html Let me know if you have any other questions. Have an awesome day!
Hi Lars, Is there a specific reason Fusion does not allow custom keyboard shortcuts? I can't understand how such a powerful application doesnt allow such a basic funcitonality. Sorry I'm new to fusion and it blows my mind!
I've watched several videos but one thing I haven't heard you explain is why use "press pull" and not "extrude". Is the a reason other tgan preference? Thanks for all the great tutorials they have taught me a ton
Start a sketch, then click on the drop-down arrow on the Stop Sketch icon at the top of the page->Then click the three vertical dots and assign your own custom shortcut 👍😊
I am trying to draw a three legged stool with braces between the legs. I can get the top and three legs but can not connect the legs together. The legs angle out from the top. How do I get the plane to draw the brace between two legs?

Some more great tips and tricks...Thank you.
Thank you Ed, more videos in the works :-)
Have a great weekend!

Another good one Lars! Now I'm off to play with gears!!
Thank you! :-)
Great tips and tricks! Thank you very much for this video.
Thank you for taking the time to watch! Glad you liked it.
Have an awesome day!!
Hi Lars @6:14, i tried a circle, its always blue even my origin turned on. Its black when i hover the cursor over the circle. Is this ok? Thanks!

Interesting!! I have Midpoint constrains available. Can you invite me to one of your projects where this is the case? lars@cadcamstuff.com
+Lars Christensen I can invite you later today, but it occurs consistently in any project.

Awesome! Thank you for sharing this John!!
Where can we get the keyboard shortcut diagram at 6:40? The link to the list doesn't have the template picture. Thanks!

as usual you made another nice video, what if, one like me ask you to make video about customizing fusion cam tool library, would you please do that? thanks
Thank you for taking the time to comment! Yes!! Tool library is on the list. I'll try to hurry on that one :-)
Thank you!
Good video, I'll be back for more

Hi Doug, I have not, but I have added it to the list :-)
Have a great day!
Best,
Lars
Hi Lars, Great videos! :) What keyboard do you use? As I see, it has an extra ball to navigate the view very smoothly by left hand.
Reset view - nice to see that features is there, rather than rotating whole model, but I want my front to be bottom - it only offers front or top?
(My files always come out wrong way when loading STL into my slicer )
Preferences - general - Z-up rather than Y-up. (Just found that out yesterday)
Muy bueno su video lo hay en español

I actually did a video my self where I used 360 to edit .STL model.
BTW, love the beard, suits you.

Please make editable hotkeys
I wish I had that power :-)
is there a shortcut for leaving a sketch or for isolate...would be nice to have more shortcuts...but anyway super workflow :) THX
Start a sketch, then click on the drop-down arrow on the Stop Sketch icon at the top of the page->Then click the three vertical dots and assign your own custom shortcut 👍😊
