The similarities between British media and Australian media is so funny to me, Aussie media LOVES an awkward photo of a politician eating, we get atleast one a year.
I don't think it's just the British and Australian media. Politicians looking like weirdos while eating is pretty much universally funny. It's a fun and easy story to fill space, so the media in most countries, where the media isn't heavily censored, enjoy silly stuff like that.
I mean, putting aside the fact that they're almost the same culture only separated by a century or two, aren't they literally just owned by the same guy?
For all those that get annoyed when he says “England” instead of the UK, as a Scot I’m usually happy he does that. Because with matters like Brexit and Tory rule, Scotland hasn’t voted for those things, we always voted against. But because our votes are counted as just another group of constituencies instead of a country with its our culture and history, our smaller population then means a lower amount of constituencies. This means that at Westminster elections even if our entire country votes one way, if only southern England votes the other way, we lose that vote. So yes, while we have to suffer the consequences at the end of the day the L is Englands for voting that way. It’s one of the main reasons I believe independence is so important, because without it we don’t have true autonomy. We may have a devolved government that has done a lot of good, Westminster still has control over the main issues that impact us negatively. Sadly Scotland has been trending to the right it seems with the recent election, even in my own life I’ve been noticing the culture war brain rot infect more and more people that were never politically active before hand (besides independence). Scotland and the UK is fucked for the foreseeable future due to the fact that in the Uk the voting system needs massive reform, any FPTP voting system will always lead to what is effectively a two party system, which always means no ruling party will ever lead the reform as it lessens there chances of gaining power, and also the fact every vote on a large issue has people voting against their own interest due to misinformation (brexit is a key example).
This is true. The newspapers and Tories have used this narrative for years. They also engineered it to look like they were the only ones capable of securing our borders
I mean British poorer but still one of the richest countries in the world people need to get perspective were still better than like 97% of every other country lol.
Britain still remains one of the global HQs of the ruling class, as can be seen by its connection of it to pretty much every single significant geopolitical event that has occurred since the ostensible 'disbanding' of the empire. Look up where Chatham House, the Council on Foreign Relations, and the CIA all came from. Start with the Round Table Movement and the Anglo-American Establishment book by Carroll Quigley (university mentor of Bill Clinton) to get a clear picture.
@@tugaygokce9948 No compared to the rest of the world were rich the common people should be richer though your correct but what im saying is people acting like were about to disappear lol its still one of the best countries in the world to live in.

Camerons second term was won by blaming austerity on labours handling of the economy after the 2008 crash and that things would get worse if they got back in.
I thought the exact same thing, but I watched it back, and I'm pretty sure he just salted the fries. They are slightly off-screen, and the camera angle gives a kind of forced perspective effect, making it look like he is salting the sandwich.
Immigration is always going to be positive on a macro-economic level...that doesn't mean it makes peoples' lives better - the fact that wages have gone up hugely since leaving the EU (lower labour supply) shows it has been hugely positive for people at the lower end of the earning spectrum. Yes there's obviously been some losers, mainly smaller companies who exported stuff; no tariffs, but more paperwork.
pretty sure he'd been critical of streamers watching his videos and taking views from him. this is the first time in a while that I've seen hasan react to one of his videos too (probably because of what tom had said), so hasan's reaction was pretty over the top imo
Also I blame Corbin for this as well. Nobody wants to blame Corbin. I used to be a supporter of Corbin but people treat him like he’s effing Jesus. He ran a bad campaign in 2019. Yes his manifesto was good but he also supported Brexit and he wavered and went back-and-forth And that gave Boris Johnson all he needed. So yeah, Corbin takes some of the blame
Don’t talk shit please. Corbyn’s position on Brexit was known, but he included a 2nd referendum at Starmer’s insistence. That contribution fisted the left in the UK, and has led to the greatest decline in history. Brexit was a done deal mate. It’s still a done deal, and no amount of whining is going to undo it. I didn’t want it either, but then I wanted Tories even Less and Corbyn more, so that’s how I voted. He attracted a greater vote share than Labour now, and mobilised an enormous amount of the electorate, and lost to someone who also favoured Brexit but without the 2nd Ref promise. So no, it’s got nothing to do with Corbyn’s position on Brexit.
My brother doesn’t have a lot of money he voted for Brexit because he said idiot I know you say you shouldn’t infantilise working class people but he doesn’t read. He just watches GB news all day which is our version of Fox News and I don’t let him off the hook, you’ve got RUclips you’ve got the Internet you’ve got infinite explain the videos about how how The EU works how the ECR works (European court rights) and he just for it because of the NHS but use that as an excuse he’s quite racist. And he’s poor educated but you know what he has a responsibility to do a little bit of effing research as said just being reactionary. I don’t let these people off the hook at all. I didn’t vote for Starmer. I voted for another third-party in the most recent election because I know he’s going to go tack further right because he was appealing to totally voters. I wasn’t fooled by that ruse at all.

Starmer only got 33% of the total vote from a low turnout. It's a scandal that you can get so many seats with such a low vote. Corbyn far outperformed Starmer in number of votes gained in 2019 but lost because our fptp system is stupid.

im from the midwest and i voted against brexit. its truly abysmal that our votes mean less than they do to those down south
