I’m so glad you have reviewed this bike I got mine beginning of December last year and just turned 12,000 miles I’ve been down to Spain, Portugal and Morocco twice now with no issues!! It’s comes with everything that I need. And comfortable.
I've had mine nearly a year now. It was bought as a lighter alternative to my RT1200. It's now my go-to bike, it's done 5k miles, summer and winter, still immaculate. The TFT menu takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, it's easy without looking. The in built tracker and vibration sensor are great and reliable, and it comes with 4 years of recovery free. I love just riding it for no reason, just for the fun. I've never had the neutral gear issue. It's heading to Portugal in a months time, and I know it will deliver having toured around the Lake District and Scotland on it already. Residuals aren't great, but no intentions of selling so irrelevant. Great review !
Glad you have tested this bike. I have owned mine for 2 years and 10000kms in Australia. I still love it. It does everything well. Great value. The gearbox neutral issue may be fixed with a software upgrade. Cfmoto have over the air updates from the rider app, no need to go to the dealership. I did mine just after taking delivery and noticed better fuelling, gear shifts, neutral, and cruise control. Very excited about CF moto's upcoming models. Great addition to my garage and has proven to be a reliable tourer. No issues in our extreme summers and (yes we do get them) cold and very wet winters. Stoked you liked it. Regards Adelino
I own the 800 MT….excellent bike, no issues, fit and finish holding up, reliability faultless so far (1200 miles) most crucially it brings bikes of this spec and calibre within the reach of many people who would otherwise never be able to afford such a thing….this is their strongest point to my mind
Some great comments in the video and in the chat where they are all pretty much advocates of the bike. One thing to consider is that not everyone has GS/KTM/Ducati/Triumph money to spend and yet we still need new riders to keep our industry alive. This bike hits a great price/feature point and should be highly recommended for new (and old), adventure bike riders. All riders should remember that not everyone has £20k to spend on a second form of transport (for most), so should back off on derisory comments in group rides. As you say in the vid, "dont comment until you have ridden one". Personally, very impressed.
That’s a silly comment. Market leaders, especially with adventure bikes. I know the latest 1300s are a bit controversial, but I suspect that they will still maintain their market share and people will grow to like their styling again…….
@FelixtheHuman-zp8dw absolutely agree, its so ugly it will never see the inside of my garage, i see a spike in sales of the 1250 gsa while you can still get them
I'm just back from holiday in greece, where all the scooters and quads seemed to be cfmoto. The hire guys really rated them for reliability, easy to work on and robust, and they can't get enough of them. I had a little 200cc scooter, my wife and i have a combined weight of 26 stone, and that little thing took us all over the island, up twisty 1 in 3 gradients, mountain dirt tracks, in town, zipping along tarmac roads, and never missed a beat. Started in less than a second on the button hot or cold, didn't smoke, wasn't overly noisy or clattery, and had spent 2 seasons getting beaten up by tourists. I would call that a true reliability test, and in my opinion it passed no problem. If the bikes are anything like the scooters in that respect i think reliability won't be an issue. Just have to park it where my mates won't see it because they'd take the piss and I'm shallow like that.
Iv had my CF Moto 800MT for 4 months and put just over 3k miles in it so far , it’s been faultless, never missed a beat, the engine does need a bit of time to break in , about 1K miles , also true of gearbox, love the gold wheels except they are a bit of a nightmare to keep clean, only thing Iv changed is I got a taller screen . Its keep in a garage, no issues with corrosion and Iv yet to hook it up to a battery maintaner and battery has been perfect, it’s stood out side overnight in rain and cold on a few weekends away and started first time no problems. So far absolutely loving it .
Great review as always and I think I can allay any concerns to quality and reliability. A friend and I bought 2 of these and prepared them with an ABS switch and Bark Busters for an Australian outback tour through Flinders Ranges and outback central Australia. Both bikes covered more than 5,000 kms off road and were not treated kindly. Both CFMoto 800MT’s were bullet proof, neither suffered any issues but for fuel surging when the tank is brimmed (outback fuel considerations) Both riders have had many GS’s and I currently have a Ducati Multistrada V4S and an Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory. Admittedly I did cop flak from mates when I bought it but it is a game changer to anyone that rides one. Incredible value and just a great bike to ride for many hours non stop, very comfortable.
This exactly what what we did with Japanese bikes in the 70s called them rotten and most wouldn't buy them A decade later and it was a different story. I have had my Benelli 502c now for three years and its still rides and looks like new.
This looks as though the Chinese are doing what the Japanese did with car manufacturing back in 70’s copying popular cars and their styling but making them reliable and cheap. Gaining a good market share and with time developing their own very good cars. My only concern is over reliance on one country for our products, if China decided to switch of the supply tap rest of the world would be stuffed
Spot on Dave. The motorcycle press and all the miserable old geezers setting their points and tappets every weekend called them rubbish. The rest of us bought them in droves and spent more time riding round having fun than mending them. Motor Cycle News voted the Norton Commando ‘Bike of the Year’ for 5 years running. Biggest laugh ever.
@@steveinskip4897 O god yeh i started off on a Honda CD200 benley i was a kid really just passed me test. i abused it rotten but you know it never ever didn't start took me to work in all weathers but my mate at same time had a BSA bantam and it was a pig broke down at least once a week he spent every Saturday fixing his for our Sunday ride outs me i just popped me lid on kicked her over and off i went.
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn I had a Bantam D7. Absolute mess it was, but the best i deal ever did. Bought it for £7 and sold it for £15. Over 100% profit. Try doing that on a GS1300. 🤣🤣£££
Great honest review. We need to stop referencing china and just review bikes against manufacturers. £9k for all that bike and it looks great and by the sounds of it rides great and sounds good too. We need more bikes that are affordable and this one is incredible value compared to other manufacturers so at the very least it may make the opposition think twice about their prices. I’m an older fella and love riding my bike but it saddens me that every bike cafe is dominated by old bald men. Appreciate that its insurers too that are pricing younger riders out of the market but hopefully these much cheaper imports will eventually bring the price of the whole bike market down to a sensible level. I ride a 1st gen XR and could upgrade to the latest gen but it kills me to feed the ridiculous market that manufacturers have created. My son wanted to get into bikes as he thought it would be more fun and much cheaper than owning a car but had a baby when he saw the cost of bikes and checked out a couple of insurance quotes. Very sad…. Ramble over
has to be treated like an expensive hobby for the first few years. 1 years no claims dropped my insurance from 900 for 1 bike to 600 for 2 bikes. Hoping the license changes will help too.
I’ve had a quick go on the 450MT at the ABR festival, seems a good bike, engine was strong upto 60mph. I went to buy one when I got home but there sold out until next March! I think that tells you all you need to know.
Hi Andy. I have a two year old CF Moto 800MT, an ex demo bike I bought in December with 1,800 miles and 18mth old. Have put another 3000 miles on it since then and absolutely love it. I’ve had Triumphs and a Suzuki before buying Chinese made bikes and haven’t noticed any dip in reliability or standard of finish. I haven’t experienced any issues finding neutral. Love your channel content and hope to see you and Carole again at next year’s ABR. 👍
I have the MT800 Explore in NZ. Compared to my 650XT Vstrom the MT makes it look like and feel like a dinosaur. No issues so far goes great, handles fine and the best thing you get free software updates via the net, no need to go to the dealer and the bike app is pretty neat, you can even geofence it. I purchased mine for touring and the odd gravel road, and it does this well and bloody comfy, i'm 6'2. Waiting on the taller seat to see how fit is on that. If you see them around, take a second look. They are only going to get better.
I just paid a deposit on a new 800 MT Sport today ! Trading up from my (brilliant ) 2019 CB500X ! Couldn’t get a Touring model here in Ireland ,sold out but I’ve added what i need to the sport , 42l top box, handguards , heated grips and bash plate. I’m not a fan of QS unless it’s a sports bike so wont miss that !! Have had 2 test rides and absolutely loved it !! Keep up the great work!
I bought one 4 weeks ago and im well impressed,, iv owned 28 bikes over the yrs and this is as good if not better than some of em (early gs 1200 springs to mind ) ,, iv got 1800kms on it, brilliant bike to ride .
I have one and i love it , i can change the settings while riding heated grips and seat. The Explorer has more extra then this one , but that one wasent out when i bought mine. They do stop making these and go fot the 700 MT instead. The 650 MT fabrication has stopped to. I had to buy my panniers for 1500 Euro's . I also buyed a protection guard for my cooling fans ans a battery tender. In total i costed my 14 000 Euro's. I have it for a year now and i havent got any problems yet . I ride all seasons and i keep it in my garage. As for finding neutral , no problems there , i can find it easly.
The latest adventure bikes from CFMOTO and Benelli are looking and performing fantastic right now, and being a grand or two below their European and Japanese counterparts just adds to their appeal. Reliability and weathering/rusting is getting better with each release, just the dealer and parts network need a bit more attention, but what an adventure market we now have!!! Great review and insight TMF!!
Checked out one today, at my local dealer. While i didn't take it for a test ride, i was impressed with it's build quality. And YES, it's in the Goldilocks zone, in my opinion, for being a practical, budget friendly machine, for everyday riding. Other competitors, be warned😎
Great review that should help sell more. I'm an owner since November 2023. 8000 miles done. Winter riding included. Garage stored. No issues or rusty bits Inc chain. Screen is good and easy to use on the go. The jerky refresh you mention might be the display on the tacho as the numerals enlarge as the virtual needle moves past them giving that inoression. I've done a European tour as well as lots of UK bike meets. Not had one negative comment. My dealer is one of the new batch and has been great too.
Hi all, i bought my 800MT Explore in February. Ive done 10000km. I love it. No issues so far. I was going to get a KTM890 adventure, the morning i was going to purchase the 890 a freind suggested i look at the CF Moto. I had priced the 890 with the electronics turned on and added the heated seat and grips, and tire monitors. All that and more is factory on the CF Moto. The CF Moto was nearly 50% cheaper. It is working out well. The CF Moto also has blind spot radar. On the down side the KTM has about 30mm more suspension travel. For me, bang for buck, CF Moto is a winner
Nice looking bike with a very attractive price tag. Especially when often your looking at bikes twice the price. Very informative and gives people an insight into another make/model.
I own a CLX 700 Heritage, and I think it's a fantastic bike. I've had it for nearly a year now and put about 6500 km on it, no real issues to talk about at all. Considering what I paid for it, it was an easy decision. It seems CFMOTO is about to make a splash, as we see more positive reviews pop up, and prices for these bikes remain incredibly competitive. Thanks for the honest review mate, cheers!
This is a great looking machine, and is exactly what i want. I had a chinese 125 and i did 2 tours of around 400 miles around Scotland and it did not miss a beat. Had a couple of issues, however it never let me down actually on the road. Maybe i had a good one, however i would be really happy to have another one.
I wouldn’t worry about px values, when the purchase price is low to start with. What matters is the cost of ownership. BMWs depreciate a lot from a higher starting point. Spend £23k on a GS and expect to get 65% back after 3 years for a trade in. That’s £8050 spent over 3 years, almost the entire cost of a new 800MT.
Thanks for a thorough and thoughtful review. You bring up a lot of good points and issues. I’m embarrassed to admit I really don’t understand what a quick shifter is. I’ll have to see what I can learn about it.
Saw this at Motorcycle Live last year and it looked impressive for the price. Maybe it’s a wake up call for one or two “mainstream” manufacturers and their “squeeze every last penny from the customer “ Strategies. You know who you are if you’re reading this 😂 Great review as usual 👍
Yes. love the latest Con the manufacturers use. Here is your new very pricey bike with all the gizmos . You have have them for 500klm but after that we turn them off till you pay. Note They will take a leaf out of apple / microsoft those great commuinity minded leaders, wherer you no longer can buy the software and update only if you want, NO this will transform into we give you the software but you now pay a monthly/ annual fee for its use. perpetual $$
Thanks for posting this. i was impressed with whole CF Moto range at the shows this year, build quality seems to be right up there. Wish them luck, UK market is a tough nut to crack, we're all a bit too brand conscious.
I don’t have a problem buying a Chinese manufactured bike. I don’t have a problem with build quality or warranty… BUT, I would challenge the assumption that more tech is always better… for me I would prefer this bike with NO quick shifter, NO TFT (a dial will do), NO connectivity and NO modes. The less tech there is the more pure and engaging the riding experience. More tech does not equal more enjoyment.. I can’t help thinking that without all that nonesense fitted this bike could a grand cheaper and all the better for it. This is true of ALL manufacturers, not just CF Moto. Good test though Andy.. enjoyed watching.
@@duncancleverley6366 the only thing in your list you can’t change is the dash. You just leave it in one mode and use the clutch for gear shifts. I assure you, this is a bike you just jump on and go. You pick your settings and then leave it. I’ve got an 07 fireblade with no electronics but I still really enjoy my 800MT. The heated grips and seat are really good though!
I have had my 800mt sport for 8mths and love it, if my mates want to take the piss out of me for having a bike this good whilst having spent half of what they have then they can, i think i may be laughing longest. Love the channel even if it can be a little GS'y lol
I hear the same comments about Chinese made bikes as we're made about Japanese ones when I was a kid - and look what happened there.... I'd be very interested if you could get hold of the new 450 MT, that's had some very positive early reviews.
Interesting review & bike. CF Moto are seemingly the best Chinese manufacturer to date & as you say are making some decent products these days. Also, ironically KTM's bad reliability rep is historically & largely based on bike's they made in Austria, not the CF Moto versions. I wouldn't rush off to buy one but I also wouldn't categorically rule them out anymore either.
I was very interested in the CFMoto 800T and test rode it on a demo day at a local dealership. The bike itself was great; the dealer added fees were not. I ended up buying a 2024 KTM 790 Adventure (also built by CFMoto). The KTM was $2000 USD less expensive out the door even though it had a higher manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
I’ve ridden with a chap with an 800 MT a few times and it’s a good looking bike and very well equipped for the money. He’s had it since last November and as far as I know not had any problems with it. He did mention the gearbox being a bit tight/clunky at the start but it loosened up after 1000 or so miles. I think some of the bigger manufacturers could learn a thing or two when it comes to extras, warranty and overall price. Specing up something similar with a similar equipment level could add £5k to an already costly purchase.
Interesting to see you reviewing a CF Moto 800, I've not seen a Chinese manufactured bike on your channel before, while I haven't ridden a CF Moto 800 MT I have had a good look at one in my local CF Moto dealer and was impressed with the build quality and equipment levels, it's also a good looking bike that wouldn't embarrass you at the local bikers cafe however the most impressive thing is the price which makes the equivalent KTM and BMW look very over priced indeed and on that point alone it's difficult not to take it seriously.
I just purchased the 2024 KTM 790 Adventure. Made by CFMoto, What a great bike and engine. Some of the best riding Ive had. I'm just praying it will hold togeather. Lol. 17 BMW RT 23 Kawasaki KLR650 24 KTM 790 Adv 19 RE Interceptor 650
I have a 2020 CF Moto 650GT for 2 years now and did the NC500 on it in April this year, no issues with it at all and rides really nice... Only thing I'd say is with pillion and luggage it could do with another 10 bhp
I had the opportunity to see these bikes at the NEC and they felt really well put together glad to see a review from a Brit and how they fair on our roads thanks TMF might have to get myself a chinese😂
I rode a CF Moto 700 CLX Adventure for a few months a year and half ago but it was never a problem, the dealer have move now with KTM (same shop) so big positive. The sport bikes 450 SR and SRS I rode surprised me a lot. The 450 MT still waiting on that, they sold out and stock are like gone to pre orders. To be honest if I could have a 450 sports bike Heritage and adventure I would be happy. Like the 80s all over again. I had a Suzuki RGV 250, XR400 & CB250RS
Hi Andy, I went to look at one 3 months ago, I found it a bit top heavy, but it did have all the luggage on. I went on a FB forum to get some feedback from owners, I don’t think it had traction control on the first batch this year, the throttle needs a re map because it’s jerky. The weirdest thing was that the bikes are old/new stock. I asked at the dealership if they are new bikes, apparently the UK bikes were made in 2022. The other con was TFT problems, I’m not sure if it was the odd one. Lovely looking bike…. But KTM , reports of engine problems at 20,000 miles. Really enjoyed the video, I was really close to buying one of these, perhaps I’ll regret it later, then perhaps not.
4000 miles on my ibex 800 t and it's been fine. Good motor, little top heavy, looks good, comfortable, not super refined, but still good. Cfmoto is a reputable company and making serious strives to be legit. They are good.
Not long bought my 800MT. Wanted something to tour on with a pillion and my fireblade isn’t that bike (still kept it though). Tried the Africa Twin (nice bike, too expensive) and the transalp (not bad, bit boring, no kit at all!) and then went and gave the 800MT a go after a chat with Michael Mann when I saw him at super bike factory. Test rode the 800MT touring and instantly wanted it. Put my deposit down and collected it a week later. Brilliant bike, well put together, fun engine and so much kit. Fog lamps, up and down quick shifter, heated grips, heated seat, hand guards, crash bars, fog lights, Nav, Bluetooth etc etc list goes on! Really happy with my purchase and at £110 a month on PCP, how can you not?
CF Moto are definitely a force to reckon with. They've done their due diligence before coming to market and the dealer partnership with KTM will give confidence to potential buyers, especially with a four year warranty. You see their name appearing in Moto gp sponsorship. Would be good to see a long term review.
Ive got a Benelli TRK 702X and its epic. Ive owned 60 bikes over the past 30 years. And ive watched chinese bikes go from shockingly bad 15 years ago to a force to be reckoned with these days. Very impressive
@@DynamiteDaveLlewellyn i love mine.. Im surprised how close it is in quality and ride to the " big boys" id say 95% there.. Watch out honda, yamaha, suzuki, and triumph
Thanks for that Honest review I have Just booked a test ride on one as a result of it and the fact The Bingley Wheeler has just purchased one. He hasn't mentioned the finding Neutral problem, It will be the first thing I'll be looking out for later. I love everything about them from what I a have heard and seen so far. I'm wondering if waiting a year or so though might make best sense and value as the price would be even lower, problems if any would become apparent and you'd still have 2 years warranty left.
They're an excellent motorcycle. I recently bought a transalp and decided against the Suzuki DE800 and Cfmoto, after riding them, because I didn't want a bike that "big". The kit on that bike is fantastic when compared to the others, adjustable suspension, tubeless tyres, handguards, bash plate, quick shifter and more. The mt450 is gaining some popularity as well.
Benelli trk702 next please. Local dealer here is still giving the luggage with the 800mt. It all looks good stuff. I don't have a problem with copying. Let's face it if more manufacturing would take good points from other bikes and use them it would be better . When you look at the price of the bmw gs 900 and triumph 900 this bike is definitely a bargain but only if you hold onto it as the second hand values are much lower. The only grip I have is after market parts and upgrades available compared to mainstream brands. I know from a couple of guys who like to do self maintenance that parts can take a long time.
Great review as always. We are lucky with bikes there is a great variety of choice. I think CF moto will continue to do well. Interesting to see how the Benelli trk 702x does the 502 was a big seller in Italy its priced well and older 502s seem to be holding up well to UK weather
Thanks for the review. And yes when you were talking about the gear box, I was telling myself wait and see, I have the exact bike, and I had the issue, but it is nothing serious, and it can be worked out using two hands, adjusting the wires, I did that just two days back, I read the fine print v6 and I accept and approve lool. I alsay watch your videos and am cool with you talking fast, you may wanna add to the print, there is speed options on YT app so people can use that. I love the bike too, and bought it to set a trend and also test how well it will go, nothing against the GS, but want to give others a chance to prove or improve themselves
Another great review Mr Flyer, this bike is now top of my test ride list.I have test ridden the new Tiger 900 GT pro and that is a great bike to ride but not as good looking as this and is almost 50% dearer with the extras. Shame the nearest agent is 300 miles away from me but what's not to like at this price?
What a handsome looking bike. Equipment levels and value for money are great. This bike ticks all the boxes for me and l wouldn't worry about the opinions of the, all the gear no idea brigade down at the local Starbucks.
Heavy industry in China has really progressed. Quality parts, machining, manufacturing, and materials are always possible to me made. IMO if I was an upstart brand entering a new market, the last thing I would want to do is send over a piece of garbage knowing full well the motorcycle media would absolutely eviscerate it. The biggest question is the supply chain- knowing you won’t be marooned somewhere on a bike that can’t be commonly repaired. The KTM partnership is solid. I for one welcome more competition in the motorcycle world. It forces our overlords (especially in the world of ADV) to innovate and makes our lives as consumers generally better.
I was supposed to have a go on one of these at the ABR Festival (spotted you there as well, Mr. Flyer!), but sadly they wouldn't let me participate due to my non-UK driver's license. Thankfully Benelli wasn't so strict and I had a blast on their TRK 702.
Great review mate, like you said if cf moto can fix the reliability stigma, it's a marker thrown down to other manufacturers for value for money etc. I'll have no issues with this bike
Can’t argue with the CF Moto value and spec. You had difficulty selecting neutral but I have the same problem with my 2020 BMW 900 XR and regularly leave it parked in gear - 1 or 2. Must test ride one.
@@michaelcase8574 Doest’t have to be like that. I’ve seen Chinese brands offering 6 years and then the brand left the country or even the whole EU in 2 or 3 years, because they didn’t reach the sales they expected. With CFMoto that’s hard to happen, as they’re a bigger brand and they are trying to destroy western and Japanese bikes with the help of the CCP
@ALIENdrifter66 I guess it's always a gamble for companies. I do agree. They would love to put the other brands out of business. The fact that some of the parts are knock offs prove they have no respect for pattens. I can never take the CCP at face value. I don't trust their motives.
This is a very constructive, sensible, and honest review. Cudos to you! It was good to see you include the gear issue in real time but also include some constructive criticism on the TFT interface, whilst highlighting the good ascepts which work well. What a good, unbiased review. Did you experience the jerky throttle most people have? Good work, and God bless. 👍🏿
Personally, I think the whole range, is brilliant! My local bike shop, is a CF Moto dealer, and, luckily for me, where I can test ride/review bikes, for my channel. To the best of my knowledge, there are very few complaints, recalls or warranty claims on the CF Moto range 🙂
Whole CF Moto range is great value for money for riders of all experiences. Good that they actually have small capacity models on sale often neglected by many existing Brands.
Came to say the same thing. I believe it is an official offer by the importer. I don't know when this was filmed but was surprised the lower spec wasn't mentioned as it does seem like a lot of bike for three year old KTM money
I'm seriously thinking about one of these as a second bike to my RT, yet to ride one but I'll get a test ride soon, got a local dealer 5 mins away. Thanks for the review :)
I have a little cf Moto 300 SR that I learned in. It was almost impossible to find neutral with the engine on. But I mentioned it at the first service and they fixed it somehow. No problems since.
Hopefully you soon get their Explore model. More refined engine with Apple Carplay with a different dash and music controls on the left handlebar, 6 riding modes adjustable on the move and blind spot monitor. Had mine here in Australia since August 23 and enjoying it every ride.
Hi Andy, great review. I am sure most people turned their noses up at the Japanese bikes when they first arrived and also the Indian made Royal Enfield's but in both cases they have been proved wrong. One advantage of having a cheaper Chinese range is that it might force the other brands to up their game and lower their prices a bit.
Great review bud. I'm considering a touring type bike. This is top of my list. One thing I'd say is if your worried about what your mates think about your bikes...maybe you should change your mates.
@@AsmodeusT , I don't disagree with the view regarding resale value however my mate has just swapped his 1200 gsa for a 1250 gsa, the 65 plate he sold has halved in the 5 years he's had it and the 1250 he's replaced it with he paid 13k for a bike that was probably pushing 19k or so when new so all of a sudden depreciation on a cf moto doesn't matter.
@fredricgreene9857 You are right that it's not just less expensive brands that have that problem. I personally wouldn't buy a bike or car brand new that would lose lots of money like the example you gave. I made that mistake only once and now am very careful. For instance, a Triumph T120 looses far less in depreciation. It will be interesting to see if the 800MT holds its value.
These are top quality well built bikes..I've looked at a few at a dealer near me ...Also they manufacture ATV's....Let's not forget nearly all Honda's built in Thailand now.. .Scooters in Italy 🇮🇹
Is the car park at Great Missenden station ever full?? It must be the only railway station car park with spaces always available for motorcycling RUclipsrs! 😂
I tested the KTM 790 last week and I have to admit it was really good. Not tried the CF MOTO but its the same engine. You can't argue with the value for money but residuals are going to be poor. More dealers are stocking chinese bikes now so they may improve. Reliability will be the key issue I believe.
Hi Andy, I have been told buy multiple sources that CF Moto not only makes the 790 P twin, but they also make the Parallel twins for the KTM 890 and Husqvarna 901. It is kept quiet, though.
WOW, a great looking bike, and a review that wasn't quite what I expected. Sounds to me that this bike should definitely wake some of the usual manufacturers up. Not many other bikes in this category gives you that amount of standard fittings, especially at that price. Having read a lot of other comments, sounds like the reliability question is answered in a positive way too. Did we not have a similar scenario when Japanese manufacturers first came onto the European market?. Wonder what happened there.
Really great looking bike Andy. In my opinion, the best looking adventure bike available at the moment. Time will tell How they fare with regards to quality or reliability issues.
That's a great looking bike. Time will tell for long-term reliability and evolution of features and functionality issues. Menus can be learned, but neutral shouldn't be difficult!
Look at when Kia and Hyundai first arrived on our shores now look at them. Dearer than Audis. It that trick of fully loaded at a tempting price to establish brand. Been looking over KTM and BMW shoulders and they are learning quickly. Nice review Andy 👍
Seen one of these up close, exceptional looks and quality, you get almost everything that would normally cost 14/15 grand plus.. The 3 piece luggage is also top quality with velvet effect lining.. Well impressive. Shame i dithered so much as they are now not available until Dec... I need something with touring capacity and capability for my second bike. The only possible issue with this bike is longevity and resale value, but that remains to be seen. The Tracer 9 GT is favourite just now but this is a serious contender being 3500 less . 😉👍
I just took delivery a week ago of my 450MT here in the Philippines. An 800 really is too large for the provincial roads here (no highways on my nearby islands) - the 450MT twin seems the ideal size. They are selling like hotcakes. The only concern may be spares - but really have had spares issues here with my Kawasaki's and Harley - and CFmoto seems to have more online spares/accessories channels here in this region.
I’m so glad you have reviewed this bike I got mine beginning of December last year and just turned 12,000 miles I’ve been down to Spain, Portugal and Morocco twice now with no issues!! It’s comes with everything that I need. And comfortable.
The Engine noise. It sounds goid and it seems on the video to seem quiet and not deafening like somr bikes ..is that right?
did you buy on HP/PCP? it's not really advertised how much monthly payments are. Are you happy to share what you paid?
@@daver3110 not sure Chopse done a review a while back can’t remember the exact cost but I think it was under £100 month PCP
Wow awesome to hear of a long term view on this bike 👍👍Pete
A guy I ride with brought one 12 months ago, had no issues and loves the bike
Regards
Adelino
I own the 800 MT….excellent bike, no issues, fit and finish holding up, reliability faultless so far (1200 miles) most crucially it brings bikes of this spec and calibre within the reach of many people who would otherwise never be able to afford such a thing….this is their strongest point to my mind
I thought of you when I saw the video. I actually prefer the version with the cast wheels, pity they aren't gold though.
@@simonbowen6653 Its easy to get them powder coated or better still Cerakoted.
BMW Motorrad should think about hiring some Chinese designers so their new adventure bikes don´t look like shit anymore.
So true!
Ditto KTM there horrible orange mess
@@mark_us_CGN you must be into Lego! 😂😂😂
That’s a silly comment. Market leaders, especially with adventure bikes. I know the latest 1300s are a bit controversial, but I suspect that they will still maintain their market share and people will grow to like their styling again…….
@FelixtheHuman-zp8dw
absolutely agree, its so ugly it will never see the inside of my garage, i see a spike in sales of the 1250 gsa while you can still get them
I'm just back from holiday in greece, where all the scooters and quads seemed to be cfmoto.
Its keep in a garage, no issues with corrosion and Iv yet to hook it up to a battery maintaner and battery has been perfect, it’s stood out side overnight in rain and cold on a few
weekends away and started first time no problems.
So far absolutely loving it .
Ah yes been hoping for this. A massive high five to CF Moto, a beautiful bike at a great price. When you hear from owners they always seem happy.
Wow - thanks for that - praise indeed.
The Japanese were'nt killing their citizens and selling their body parts for profit.

Very sad…. Ramble over

I’m so glad you picked this as I mentioned it. This has made my day.
I bought one 4 weeks ago and im well impressed,, iv owned 28 bikes over the yrs and this is as good if not better than some of em (early gs 1200 springs to mind ) ,, iv got 1800kms on it, brilliant bike to ride .
I think CFMOTO has finally arrived as a good alternative.
Just purchased a 450MT as a second bike next to my streetfighter V2. Love both 👍🏼
I have one and i love it , i can change the settings while riding heated grips and seat.
Great looking bike. Well built. Extremely well equipped. Great price. Nice dealerships. What’s not to love?
Nothing if you intend to get another.

Good to hear….
I rode 60k kilometers on my CFmoto 650 tk, very reliable and practical. A lot of bike for the money I paid it. The 1250 tr-g is now on my radar
Such a nice bike! I had an accident last December and I plan on buying one of these for my return to riding! Great video! ❤
Note - Honda transalp!
Yes. love the latest Con the manufacturers use.
Really can't argue with the value, spec, looks and overall package of the CF Moto. I'd happily own one of those, especially at that price!
Thanks for posting this. i was impressed with whole CF Moto range at the shows this year, build quality seems to be right up there. Wish them luck, UK market is a tough nut to crack, we're all a bit too brand conscious.
What a great looking bike and affordable to get people out to go on adventures great review thank you
I don’t have a problem buying a Chinese manufactured bike.
Looks really good Andy. You've prompted me to have a go on one!
Best value for money, for this nice quality bike, which as always, can be refined, when needed to meet bikers interest❤
I hear the same comments about Chinese made bikes as we're made about Japanese ones when I was a kid - and look what happened there.... I'd be very interested if you could get hold of the new 450 MT, that's had some very positive early reviews.
Too true .
Lol.

Here in Slovenia its 5 years garantie. I have Explore model around 5k miles. No problems. Happy with this bike! Regards!!
Good to hear!
Have had this bike on my list for a while now! Thanks for the insights.
Sounds good to me!
CF Moto are definitely a force to reckon with. They've done their due diligence before coming to market and the dealer partnership with KTM will give confidence to potential buyers, especially with a four year warranty. You see their name appearing in Moto gp sponsorship. Would be good to see a long term review.

Nice bike, better looking than some i could mention.
I was supposed to have a go on one of these at the ABR Festival (spotted you there as well, Mr. Flyer!), but sadly they wouldn't let me participate due to my non-UK driver's license. Thankfully Benelli wasn't so strict and I had a blast on their TRK 702.
Was it any good?
That looks like its worth considering.
Great review as always 👍 Definitely going to test ride one of these. Think you should do a review on the Voge 900 DSX as a direct comparison! 😊
Usually, when they offer a 4 year guarantee, that means they are serious about establishing their brand in a market.
@ALIENdrifter66 I guess it's always a gamble for companies.
I do agree. They would love to put the other brands out of business. The fact that some of the parts are knock offs prove they have no respect for pattens. I can never take the CCP at face value. I don't trust their motives.
@@ALIENdrifter66 In New Zealand they only give it a two year warranty ... we must be rough buggers!

It was good to see you include the gear issue in real time but also include some constructive criticism on the TFT interface, whilst highlighting the good ascepts which work well. What a good, unbiased review.
Did you experience the jerky throttle most people have?
Good work, and God bless. 👍🏿
Didn't notice it or I would have mentioned it....
As you said, Andy, a good-looking bike and great value loaded with equipment.
What I think might put people off is resale value.
With regards to price , some dealers had the 800 MT Sport for £6799 recently
Came to say the same thing. I believe it is an official offer by the importer. I don't know when this was filmed but was surprised the lower spec wasn't mentioned as it does seem like a lot of bike for three year old KTM money
That’s more like it. And goes toe to toe with Benelli. I certainly wouldn’t pay £9k when you look at what you can get used for that money
I'm seriously thinking about one of these as a second bike to my RT, yet to ride one but I'll get a test ride soon, got a local dealer 5 mins away. Thanks for the review :)
See if you get the Explore, same bike with a few extra bits and riding modes.
@@Boony682 it’s actually the explore model I’ve been thinking about, slightly bigger screen with CarPlay etc. seems like the best choice :)
Couldn't agree more!
Very impressive and super price some great reviews on here from already owners well worth a look at compared to over priced alternatives
My main concern would be depreciation. I would worry about what people would be willing to pay for a 3 or 5 year old 800MT.
Which is why I use it!
The London underground starts not far away in Amersham and Chesham. So possibly those stations are used more by commuters.
The CFMoto 800MT has good reviews and at this price its good value, but the concern is parts availability and resale value !!
Time will tell
How they fare with regards to quality or reliability issues.
That's a great looking bike. Time will tell for long-term reliability and evolution of features and functionality issues. Menus can be learned, but neutral shouldn't be difficult!
I've just bought a CLX700 Heritage, 5k otr. You can't argue with that.
Look at when Kia and Hyundai first arrived on our shores now look at them. Dearer than Audis. It that trick of fully loaded at a tempting price to establish brand. Been looking over KTM and BMW shoulders and they are learning quickly. Nice review Andy 👍
I really like the looks of this bike... apart from the gold wheels
That’s what appeals to me!
😉👍
Very enjoyable review on this brand. Interesting to note it’s running a KTM power plant. Bike looks v well. 🙏
