Beautiful Ishachock (a Little Donkey as Soviet pilots called it). However the painting scheme is strange: VVS planes had no stars on the upper wing surfaces from mid 1940 up to mid 1946. White stripes on the upper wings were the designation sign for Operation Baghration (end of 1944) and siege of Berlin and Koenigs bergh (April-May 1945). 3-digit tactical numbers were used in training units only (with the rare exclusions like Aleksandr Pokryshkin's P-39N/Q having 100).
Jamie, very nice work on the paint and weathering. Ireally like that you used the lighter tone on the ribs. Often it is placed between the ribs which is no realistic. Thanks for sharing
well done. but you placed that sight holder the way it actually blocks any aiming( just check some pics of i-16 type 5). Also this detail looks way too massive, they should had provided some photo etching instead.

Do you allow any drying time between each of the oil layers Jamie?
Not really Phil, it just all adds up together
