I love when he calls people by what they are in jokes.. "Look other nuclear professors" "Well, dentist".. nobody else does that, and for some reason it cracks me up..
@Proudnewfoundlander1 "Comedy clubs have brick walls behind the performer. Bricks make you funny. When I'm in front of a fireplace, I'm hilarious." -Mitch Hedberg
Mitch was a legend. Some of the funniest stand up ive heard. Alot of it you would think was nonsense but his delivery and style worked so well with the material
RIP Norm!!! I had this live at the improv DVD like 20 years ago. Found it in a DVD bargain bin and it was worth every penny just for Norm’s segment. I put it in anytime I had people over drinking and we’d laugh our asses off. I was amazed to find it after hearing of Norm’s passing….Loved you on Weekend Update, and everything else you did!!! Rest easy my man.
He didn't tell the rest of that joke in this video but the rest of that joke is hilarious! If you respond to this (after 12 years lol) I'll link you to it. Hope you're still a Norm fan!!!
Theres a video up here on RUclips where he drinks Whiskey with Tom Green. And sometimes he says he never drank, then sometimes he says he drank only twice in his life when he was 17 eventhogh he drank with Tom Green. So I don't think we will every know if he truly is a drinker or not, because he is never serious and never answers questions seriously.
@Proudnewfoundlander1 A lot of the filmed segments from 80s standup that weren't performed for HBO were from The Improv, a comedy club where the brick wall is the stage backing.
@ 4:24 when norm does his 'old guy' impersonation, the face he makes actually looks ALOT like his face does now that he's actually older. i always found that to be incredibly ironic ha
Norm was OK then but he's much funnier now. That's the mark of great comedians: they work and continue to improve. George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield are two more examples of this.
Does anybody know if the bit he does about dogs is posted? He talks about going to a pet store where the owner tries to sell him a six-hundred-dollar pit bull to protect his stuff. "If I had a six-hundred-dollar pit bull, it'd be the most valuable thing I own," he says. "Show me your bin of dogs, I said to the guy." That's a line worth repeating.
LOL. 3:32-3:38 LOL!! I was just smiling thru the whole routine til he said that! "I'll never forget it....I may forget it who the hell knows..." People don't get Norm cuz he doesn't explain his jokes like George Carlin, but it's the same stuff...George Carlin would have inlcuded that in his stupid stuff people say "I'll never forget that" or "that's all I know." But Norm just assumes you'll get what he's doing. So funny.
That bastard Jared! Up until the point he was busted for diddling minors, I was able to get free Subway sandwiches every time I visited the Middle East.
4:17 - '...kind of a wasted life if that's all I combed out of it...' - Classic Norm. Use an obscure term from a brief moment in time, and devil-may-care if 99 people out of 100 not find it amusing. The fact the one single, nerdtastistic person catch it and STILL not even laugh but appreciate it's use...that's good enough.
Hahaha. Norm is a blast! Not really though. Can you imagine? Coming up on the stage and just blowing up? His head rolling around. His teeth flopping around his mouth and his pants around his ankles? Have you ever noticed the way shoes tend to fly right off when you get hit by a car? Yeah, they just fly right the hell off!
Only comedian alive or dead who's explanation is better than the punchline.
+Kevin Gillihan Love Norm. Robert Schimmel was another great stand up whose set ups were funnier than the punch lines.
Billy Connolly. His side steps whilst telling a story make me scream laughing.
:(
He's so different than the current Norm, yet he's so the same. It's weird.
James Brown it's like he's doing an impression of himself.

I have never seen my favorite comedian this young, ever.

RIP He gave us some of the most unique comedy.
"and there's his body, trailing his head as it often did" just wow XD

He’s the goat

It's like Norm doing his perfect impersonation of a typical hack '80s comedian.
this dude was funny forever
+Jesse G Did he make this up on the spot?
***** Ik but it said best of improv.
Was????
@@adhesiveloki1479 no, this was his routine at the time.
"...I'd like to die. Boy, I'd love to die.."
I like the way he pronounces "garage"
He's like a cross between Jerry Seinfeld plus Jerry Louis divided by Michael Keaton after a lobotomy. He's absolutely perfect.
Holy cow, this ladies and gents is a work of art.
"I'll never forget it! I may forget it, someday,, who the hell knows???" LMAOOO
Did Norm ever not sound like an old man?
"Talk to us when you get a tooth up there" LOL!!! Buahahahahahaha!!!!

Love it.

His brother, Neil MacDonald is a tv journalist for the CBC.
Giggity, giggity, giggity GOO!
Classic Norm
Norm should've been a guest on Whose Line is it Anyway!
So Norm has always been like that. I wonder if he was sarcastic even as a baby ?
pro comic
What a nice comedian dude. He just strikes me like someone who's seen their fair share of weed &shrooms :)
Extra classic.

George or Rodney?
I disagree, i think that people get worse the more they practice one thing

bahaha, the way he pronounced "garage" is so fucking canadian. hahahah.
Norm, in my opinion, is at his funniest during interviews. Watch his Letterman interviews and his Conan appearance.
the title is misleading; this isn't a 'best of' compilation but a single act.
@Proudnewfoundlander1 whats with 00's sit downs and those iphones
dude has a 32 oz miller because they probably served beer in that quantity back then
Why was this in the comedy section?
yeah, he's got a much stronger accent in his younger years. his dad's big head trailed by the rest of his body had me in stitches! hahaha
Transcript of last 10 seconds?
Do you brush your teeth at all? You ever do that? That's something, huh? That's a good thing to do.
