  • Dune: Part Two - Movie REVIEW | Better Than The Part One?! + Dune 2 Sandworm Popcorn Bucket!
    Excerpt from Guardian
Dune: Part Two review - second half of hallucinatory sci-fi epic is staggering spectacle
he second part of Denis Villeneuve’s monumental Dune adaptation lands with a sternum-juddering crash; it’s another shroom of a film, an epic sci-fi hallucination whose images speak of fascism and imperialism, of guerrilla resistance and romance. Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel - working with co-writer Jon Spaihts - draws on David Lean, George Lucas and Ridley Scott’s Gladiator in the (perhaps inevitable) mega-stadium combat scene with the tiny billions of CGI crowds in the bleachers. But he really has made it all his own: secular political cruelty meets Indigenous people’s struggle in those vast mysterious planetscapes.

Like your take on this movie. I am excited about this part 2.
I also agree we need to start going back to the theatre. Large Screens, awesome sound and your themed theatre snacks is a way to see a movie.

Dune is a galactic chess game. It is political and amazing strategic intrigue. The books are good and I’m excited to see the new movies.

I really liked the original Dune with Kyle M. I tried watching the remake but I fell asleep. So it might have been a good movie. When they are both free on streaming, I’ll probably try watching it again.

It would benefit from being a series for sure but then you don't get all of these amazing actors, high budget and theater experience so it's hard to say

Why are people surprised that Austin Butler was good in this movie?
He got nominated for an Oscar for his first lead role in a feature film.
But y'all are like "he really stepped up".... stepped up from what? Some bad press driven by his ex girlfriend's stans and the Euphoria hive? Pull yourself together.

I know it’s all subjective but I highly disagree on Timothy Chalamet being “just ok”. I think he was transcendent in the last hour of this film

Just like Campea, Stuckmann, Jahns: not a true review… we know nothing new. Strange time to be a movie fanatic.

Your pronunciations are awful. It's Fremen not "Freeman". And it's Princess Irulan not "Eye-rul-in".
