OMG, you should have a ton of message giving you respect. Brother, this is the most freaking awesome wheeling video I've seen on RUclips. Amazing job by both you and your spotters. Thank you so much for bringing a camera crew to catch all the action. I respect that your doing something different then everyone else out there. You have amazing skills and you've built a badass Tundra..... Much respect brother.
Impressive run. I've done the Rubi in an 80 along with a guy in a 200 and wouldn't consider trying it in my Tundra. You proved with the right build it can be done, and done well. Just awesome guys!
Last time i did something similar with my 2013 tundra my steering rack blew up lol. Second time tpms valve stem was taken out by a rock and lost air pretty fast. I give you props.
Ballsy, great job getting the tundra through. You guys should invest in some radios so your spotter don't need to yell. Other than that, great content/job. I watched all of them, hopefully you post more of your adventures. 👍🤙
Sweet rig just got trd 4x just want some 35 maybe 37 just don’t wanna regear. Wouldn’t dare to do what u did. Good work! Have a jk on 38 lockers and all. But tundra a beast too
I wished I hadn't found this video, now I'm looking at my Tundra on 34s and it looks pathetic LOL! Great video!! I've always ran my Land Cruisers on trails, never even thought about running my Tundra. I'm assuming you're locked front and rear? Killer driving skills and great spotters, also.
First of all that’s the most awesome rock crawling I have seem on the 2nd gen tundra. Let alone on a crewmax. Excellent driving to you and the spotter. I also have a 2018 crewmax and are looking for high clearance bumper. Can you tell me what brand are those front and rear bumpers? Thanks
Front is by Demello Offroad www.demello-offroad.com/tundra-front-winch-bumper-2014-2019 and the rear is by Trail Toys trailtoys.net/products/2007-21-tundra-high-clearance-rear-bumper
So after watching your video, I noticed your using total chaos LCAs along with you BDS system? I was wondering about doing the same but more of how it would work together. I was told to be able to do what your doing I would have to spend $15k for long travel and that’s not including lockers or gearing just suspension and fender work. But I like your set up if you could tell me what your full suspension is. I am running a decked system and leitner rack system loaded down but using an old pro comp system with icon delta UCAs and fabtech shocks. But I belly rub all the time and wouldn’t even think about doing what you just did without upgrading can you help
I've got the BDS 7" lift with the Fox coilovers. I changed out the rear 4" blocks with custom Alcan leaf springs. I also have the Icon UCAs. As you noticed I have the stock length TC LCA, which I got specifically for the stiffer bushings, which helps with keeping alignment in place, and for the extra camber it gives to move the wheel more forward. I know a guy that has the same BDS lift and put LT on. Every time his front wheels go full droop they toe in really bad. I barely fit the Rubicon and don't want to get any wider. I've got a build page if you want to see everything I have. www.tundras.com/threads/cruzers-re-build-for-the-rubicon.79505/
@@wheelingfullsize which model of Methods? I have the BDS lift w37s but on 18" wheels. Was told that was the smallest would fit lol Also, how do you like the TC LCAs? Did they change the drive at all other than being more durable than stock?
I've got the Method Grids. 17s are the smallest you can go; many other Tundras have them. Love the TC LCAs! With OEM LCAs I would always have to get an alignment after wheeling because of the soft rubber bushings it uses was easy to knock out of position. The TCs use rigid poly bushings and I haven't had to do an alignment since I put them on. Other than that it made no changes to how they drive.
This why Toyota Tundra is number1

Very nice, crazy how small 40s look on a second gen

Pretty cool tundra. I like seeing all the different rig’s people bring out on the rubicon. I have an 85 Toyota on 42s and tons
Can't lose on 42s!

Good spotter too
I just want a relationship as strong as those tie rods. Gives me hope my ram may one day see the Rubicon haha
Check out jeeperf.com and do a search for Ram.. they've got chromoly inner and outer tie rods.
If you go hit me up. I'm building my ram and am working on putting a locker in the rear 🐏 fam
This truck is a beast !! Nice wheeling

Huh? What? But everyome says this isnt possible with a bds drop bracket lift? Huh weird. Awesome video.

@@wheelingfullsize hell yeah this really helps! Keep wheeling and I hope to see y’all out there on day
Surprised spotter didn’t lose his voice 😂
What’s the year and mileage on the beautiful Tundra? 😍
It's a 2016 with ~80k miles on it.
Legend
fckn awesome!!!
Do you happen to know what brand those rock sliders are?
They are the Demello Offroad - Rock Crusher sliders.
@@wheelingfullsize thanks, I am going to check those out!!! :)
What size tires, wheels, lift, do you have?
I have 7/6 lift with an original 7" BDS lift up front and custom Alcan Springs in the rear. Rolling on 17" methods with 40s.
@@wheelingfullsize wow that's high. Do you have any problems with Center of gravity?
@@wheelingfullsize I'm building my Tundra as an offroad and overlanding rig. Trying to decide on how high of a lift and size tires to go with
@@BrandonAgpaoa Nope. I need the height to improve my break over angle.
@@BrandonAgpaoa 37s and a 3" lift will work for you.
What size tires are you running
40s on 17" Methods
What kind of trimming is needed to make 40s fit on stock fenders?
I trimmed the front fenders a bit and the rear a whole lot. Gotta have high clearance bumpers because that is where it will rub the most.
