  • In this video, we spend a day with the R4T crew at Wheeler Lake in Colorado. We take our newest build, which is the 2022 Toyota Tundra. The Tundra does some light rock crawling and gets stuck and has to be winched out.
    Our crew comprises a few 5th gen 4Runners, 3rd gen Tacoma, 3rd gen 4Runner, and a 2022 Tundra.

    It is inspiring seeing the skillful driver maneuver the whale of a Tundra with no crazy tall lift suspension or 40+ tires. Is that rig outfitted with 2" front suspension lift (and 1" rear) and 35" AT tires? The driver really working the rock sliders like he's skiing up Colorado powder. Crazy. I never dare imagine crawling my Ram 1500 like this fella.

Twon or the main guy who is doing the camera work and talking is usually driving it but was recording for this video so the guy they got to drive the R4T tundra it’s not his truck so he’s just being super careful and doesn’t wanna damage a brand new expensive truck that’s not even his. Does the 5 link suspension on the tundra hang to low or get in the way of rock crawls?

    • @andyham6094
      @andyham6094 Год назад +2

      The fact that it’s a full size truck is what gets in the way. Way too big, heavy, and long to be rock crawlin. Weight is your enemy. The lightest and most nimble short wheel base is the way to go for rock crawling. Bringing a rooftop tent and every piece of gear and the kitchen sink isn’t the smartest for the rocks. But these are overlanders just hitting different moderate trails. They usually avoid the really technical hard stufff. Nothing wrong with that tho. Know your rig and why and how you built it for the type of off roading you do.
