I have a 2016 Frontier with the stock VQ40 motor and 6 speed manual. We use it to tow a 5200 lb trailer several times a year and haven’t had any issues. The 6-speed has been a great transmission and we dream of swapping to an LS someday 😊
The quality of your videos are head and shoulders above most RUclips channels. I’m really enjoying the collaboration with Level 7. My 2 favorite channels. I feel bad about the comment I made on your first video with the obs. You set me straight and I apologize. Keep up the great work
Sick setup for the OBS or anything else for that matter. Love the ingenuity that LOJ has provided to support Hot Rodders with proven and readily available parts that won’t break the bank. Great episode.
How does this channel have less that 100k subscribers? The content and editing has the quality of a full production tv show that you would see on velocity or any other television networks.
Gonna be a blast of a truck! I know from experience the LQ9 are scarce. I have been saving the 6.0L's from the salvage yards for yrs the LQ4 is more available. I sell them running. I probably have sold over 50 of them in the past few yrs.
Awesome setup with the LS Engine and the Nissan manual transmission, great cost saving episode, thanks! I’m from Hull, Georgia and can’t wait to see what Brownie is capable of! Keep at it and I enjoyed this episode and that transmission guy in my book is Mr. Transmission from now on.
Happy for you! Well deserved. I just scored a 2003 6.0. With 4l60e 4x4. $800. 🤷🏿. From a friend. With ALL the swap parts pulled from donor. I’ll probably sit on it for 3 years and then clean it. 😂
you think buying a crate engine doesnt make sense until you entirly build a junkyard motor and then look at the final bill. This is a great solution cause like Jesse said, you dont waste money tossing out the old injectors, intake manifold, cam, oil pan, heads etc.
Finishing uo the video now but the transmission guy had a mannerisms lime someone I've watched.toon me a few minutes to figure it out but life uncontained on RUclips is who he reminded me of(not a bad thing).Great information and great content like always

Jesse, great video. I really enjoy your content. Your motor in Brownie is actually the look that i want in my 81 square body. Would love to see you make a video with the part numbers for that motor
I think the 6.0 crate is great for a guy with a decent income who can afford the extra cost of convince. I'm tempted, but if I can save a few thousand and do the leg work instead I'll have to go that route. But I really like this combo a lot and this truck is going to be killer!

If @lojconversion could figure out an adapter for the 4wd ones, that would be incredible, plenty of those up my way in VT. 🤙💯🇺🇲
Hey Robbie, do you not have a name for the truck yet? (If you do, I haven't heard it.) I'm thinking you got a NISMO Trans in an OBS truck NISMOB just thinking out loud

That motor is twice what it would cost to build it. I know, because i just did one. $4000 in a 6.0 bored to a 6.2. Forged flat top pistons, ls3 heads, much bigger cam, and the l92 intake.
I just looked on LOJ's site to see just how "budget" this trans really is. But I don't see a turnkey transmission listed? (Just all the various parts to support it.)
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS Can you give us viewers that have never heard of this conversion before a rough idea of what it might cost us to replicate what you're showing us w/o partnership discounts? $4K, $8K? More?

You mentioned the NV3500. That’s not even a serious option for any power. I have a 92 Silverado, nv3500, decent 350 small block. They don’t last forever. I imagine that behind any serious power it would destroy and nv3500.
Agree 100%, the point was more that while the NV3500, TKO, and other older 4 and 5 speed transmissions are direct bolt-on to the LS and other engines, they're not as good as the Frontier trans.
@UNITEDBYTRUCKS And thank you for your videos! I had been picking up AR-5's when I'd see them. But they are still a "truck" transmission. What gear ratios are the Nissan ones? Maybe do a video on pulling one from a pull-a-part to show what it takes toremoveit(?)
