I love that “the things I can do” isn’t Mark saying he’s too important for college. He’s afraid of trying to live a normal life when he knows he’s a murderer, when he knows if he loses control he could kill someone again.

Only a monster kills without feeling.
While Mark was justified, since Levy was insane and ready to kill Debbie and Oliver, the fact is that he is now afraid of his real power. That is what makes him different from Nolan and the other Viltrumites, understanding just how much damage he can really cause if he isn't careful.

I love those words that Cecil comforts Mark with: “Bad guys are usually the ones who break people’s arms”. At some point a man like Cecil has to boil morality down to something like that to do what they do. Simplistic of a principle as it is, it’s what Mark needs to hear.

Towards the end of this season, Cecil and Donald have really pushed the older adult/almost parental figure (grandparent/uncle) with other characters. Part of me genuinely wonders how me of it in the series will continue to appear legitimate vs. how much is to reach specific goals. Cecil sounds like he is both trying to reassure Mark and convincing himself that this will not turn out like it did with Nolan/Omni-man even if that means stepping into the role of father figure/grandpa for Mark. Will he keep his word to Debbie about looking out for him? I kind of hope so but have my reservations on the subject.

It's not that Mark didn't have a choice, he did make a choice and chose to kill Angstrom. What matters is that he made the right choice. Angstrom threatened a defenseless a nine month old baby and beat an innocent woman. Mark may not have wanted to, but it's something that he should do. Him wanting to kill Angstrom to protect his family is the most human thing a person can do.

Angstrom had zero justification for going after Mark. If he hated him because of the evil versions then he should have gone after them instead of the good one and his innocent mother and brother.

Angstrom was insane by that point the good Mark did/the fact he wasn’t evil ran against literally every other memory of Mark from the other universes where he was evil. To him at this point it was utterly inconceivable there was a “good” Mark and not one who didn’t deserve to die. He was thrashing around and raging at the very *idea* of having saved Mark.

0:30 It's not so bad. Ask Don Alejo Garza Támez, the Mexican farmer that defended his farm from evil criminals.
He didn't make it out of it alive, but neither did 6 out of the 10 that came to threaten him.
He knew there was no other choice, and he had to defend his ranch with his own hands and with his own guns.
The criminals were just going to take the ranch from him by force, and he, don Alejo, knew, so he had to do it that way: fight stupid malicious malevolent idiots with a criminal-mindset of forcing others to hand over their possessions, with his righteous rage product of knowing the value of hard work and being an honorable honest person not afraid of getting his hands dirty and soiling his hands with the blood of a hypothetical abusive boyfriend of either of his two real-life daughters.

There is a sinister parallel between Sinclair and Anstrong. They are both extremely intelligent humans who seek to create a utopia, and that makes them more dangerous than any other villain whose only purpose is to steal or kill.
Both characters are foolish enough to believe they can play God. And foolish people with power do a lot of damage.
The biggest crimes in the past century were committed by humans with a completely broken moral compass who thought they were doing good. And they brought hell to Earth,
Both Sinclair and Anstrong hurt people in Mark's personal circle, and of course, he reacted in a different way than he would if they did it to anonymous civilians.
While Mark in his confrontation with Sinclair avoided killing him (despite destroying his jaw) in the case of Armstrong he could not do the same.
Mark was quite angry and stressed after that hostage situation with his family, Armstrong did not fall unconscious when he started hitting him and he was teleporting him to several universes, so he lost his cool for longer than with Sinclair.
Obviously Armstrong had to die to prevent his madness from causing irreparable damage, and he was suffering enormously so death was a relief for him.
No one blames Mark for killing him, he didn't give her much choice and it was an accident anyway. But this sends an ominous message to Invincible.
He still doesn't know how to control his strength and he still doesn't have the nerves of steel to face a hostage situation, especially if they are known people.
Obviously he has PTSD and a hard time, since killing is not something that leaves you indifferent.
Plus, there's the whole thing with Omni Man and the Viltrumites, so that adds even more pressure on him.

Mark isn't a normal person. He is a superhero and has always idolized that concept and the moral good that it is supposed to represent. He is incredibly hard on himself to do the right thing to the point of neglecting his needs as an individual. This moral strength though is what he has clung to and allowed him to keep getting back up in the face of so many traumatic events he has been through throughout this series. By killing Angstrom, even if Angstrom deserved it, he proves that he is not the ideal he has tried to live up to and all the trauma he has managed to compartmentalize until now is crushing him.
Basically, he "thought he(himself) was stronger..."

Like a comment above me said, his rage, his bloodlust, and even the way he attacked Angstrom at the end, it reminded him of what his father could do, and he's scared that since he has the same powers, and he crossed the line once, what's gonna happen if he keeps crossing the line? How much destruction could he cause?
