Is Misa from Band Maid one of the best rock bassists of all time?
I've created this highlight reel to put the argument out there that she should be in this conversation. Her fans would say 'yes' and music reactors are always pointing her out (not something you see with other bassists) for her playing skill and contribution to a song.
I created this video so that at least I would have something to point to when other people out there rave about their fav bass players (not as good as Misa :) obviously).

@@rdel494 heard of their bands but not them individually. Just looked them up and they seem okay for their time. Watched Chris's 4 min solo and some of Phil's work. Today's bassists should be better as they have all that to look back on and learn.

Nicely done! To anyone not familiar with Band-Maid - this is only _some_ of it. Look through their official videos or listen to any Band-Maid track no matter how obscure and listen for the bass line. Check the fan-cams if you think it's recording magic. Some of her most amazing bass playing is just normal day-to-day routine for her. Put the headphones on and listen to her bottom-end on *"Manners"* for example.
One of my favorite parts of the YokoAri serving is when she went down the aisle and stopped in front of her mother to play *"onset."*
She was on fire in the YokoAri serving - a Misa spectacular. I could make a 60 minute video detailing her work in songs. She says she felt free from Conqueror onwards with writing her basslines and it shows.

For such a shy (yes shy) lady she has shared with us fans (excuse me: Masters and Princesses) through various photos and videos her wonderful sense of humor. So many great bass guitarists have driven rock music over the decades, many of them under-utilized and underappreciated, but none of them ever captivated me, brought me to tears, or left me speechless until MISA.
Same. Band Maid make the most of their individual strengths allowing them each to shine :)

Yep: elite-tier rock bassist. My favorite thing about Misa's playing isn't her technical chops (although she has those in abundance), it's her musicality and taste. She never fails to give top priority to the needs of the _song_. She's precisely the kind of bassist every musician wants in their band.
Agree. She's the kind that walks into other bands and makes them sound better. Band Maid's style of music allows her to express her musicality too. They are great to listen to. Thanks for watching :)

@@OldMrB Thank you. My motivation for this was people on Twitter posting about great bass players and I'm thinking Misa should be a part of that discussion. I watched a few 'best of bass players' YT vids and all the famous players seemed to only have 1 or 2 shining moments. Misa plays several solos a show. I just wanted something I could point people to :)

MISA!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!! 🥃🥃🥃 some of my favorite "conversations" between Misa and Kanami. I never liked the term "dual" or "battle" because these ladies are never at odds, dislike or angry with each other. They are always encouraging and pushing the best from each other. These ladies love to talk to each other thru their instruments and sometimes a "group chat" with Akane & Miku in the mix. Just my opinion

@ilyBlab First off I love what you did here. Well done on the video but this where we can educate the new B-M fans. Most things are a competition in the world but these ladies are very special should be communicated as such. It looks like supporting each other is the same attitude with other female bands currently from Japan. Many Rock bands I listened to in the 60's, 70's and 80's there was that intense competition between band mates and "battles" on stage to see who was better. I enjoyed them at the time but many of those bands did not survive or a key member left. Again just my opinion :)

@@ThouDailyBlab and they have so much fun. No 2 concerts are ever the same. I learned the hard way. I could have seen B-M on back to back nights here in LA back in 2019 but I thought the set was going to be the same like many other bands. I was very wrong. I'll never do that again.

I came across her, almost ten years ago - in Kansai. Typically would skirt saying such, but in person she is an extraordinary beauty.
And seeing them onstage all those years ago - they were tight and one of the best 'live' bands I've seen perform.
Yeah she is quite statuesque in appearance, I hope to see her and her mates play next year in Japan. Can't wait to seem them live :)

There are many bassist more technical than Misa, but no one has been as exciting and inspiring as Misa in nearly 50 years. So for me, there is no other bassist but Misa.😃
