Thank you for making this video. I went to a car repair shop to get my fog light replaced on my 07 sonata. They tried to charge me 90 dollars! This was such a simple thing to do.
I noticed the same problem I was having with yours... There seems to be a little plastic pin sticking up which prevents you from turning the whole assembly counter-clockwise.. I think you are supposed to remove the wire clip from the bulb before attempting to remove the bulb.. Otherwise you will break off the little plastic pin... Which in your case it seems like you did crack it.. you can see it @7:43, to the lower right of the bulb, next to the black plastic plug.. it is bent out to the right from you turning the whole assembly counter-clockwise.. Not a big problem, but for those out there who are OCD about things, they may want to try removing the wire clip from the old bulb before removing it, and then clicking it back on after re-installing the new bulb...
Thank you so much!!! I have the exact same hyundai with the same foglight out though mine is burgundy coloured. I love being able to take car of my car myself whenever possible. I love my sonata, it's a V6 limited edition duel exhaust.
Just an fyi for those watching unplug the cable first then turn counterclockwise to remove. (It moves a lot easier when unplugged) Clockwise to put in bulb So unplug first and plug in last.
Thanks for tip Nathan, I was having a hard time trying to remove the fog light on my daughter 2013 sonata. After I unplugged the wire like you said was very easy.
But the issue with regular halogen bulbs is that they do absolutely nothing to light up the road at night. So I am trying to replace the fog lights with LED bulbs and see how they work. Also I have on order from China a whole replacement lamp with H11 headlight bulbs in 'em! Gonna give it a shot!
You can probably do without the jack, but if you do use a jack, make sure you're not a dummy like me and put a good jack stand under the car to prevent any mishaps.
Not sure if you figured it out yet but those screws are similar to the ones around the "shroud" on the inside of the trunk. You have to hold the moulding down while unscrewing the screw and then pop them out. You could tinker with one of the same type screws inside the trunk to get an idea of how it works. Essentially these screws are just tabs, not really screws.

I am happy that my video was helpful and saved you a few bucks:-) It's amazing what some places charge for a simple bulb replacement!
Mine wanted $70. I was like naw I am good. So now I am here. Or, just forget about it all together. I never really used them.
Thank you. Great, even with a one hand camera video. Made it easy.

I just bought an 881 bulb and was wondering if they are the same as the H11. They look very similar.
Good video. Thank you!
Laughing at the part where he says ( waiting for a perfect day lmao) But definitely Good thanks
Hell yeah huge help
Do I have to put the car on a Jack in order to replace that bulb or can I just lay on the ground and reach it?

How TF do you get out the plastic screws?! Mine turn and turn and turn and turn. I can't get em out

Skip to 5:13 to skip all the yammering and actually see the steps. ...geez, dude. Edit yourself.

@@themarquis6960 no, he's right.... 3 minutes of an 8 minute video SHOULD NOT be what you have to do... Should've been a 5 minute video.
