I know Tristan is a young kid, and at his age you feel invincible, but not using PPE is such a terrible choice. It will catch up with you. Lung cancer, COPD, Tuberculosis, nerve damage, and skin cancer, all are known to be caused by not wearing a respirator when dealing with fine dust particulates, paint vapors, and exposure to welding UV light. Your bare skin is being exposed to direct and intense UV when welding, which can form cancer later in life. Please if you are young and want to start working on cars wear PPE, wear your goggles, wear your respirators, wear your UV protection. It takes 30 seconds to put on gear, it's not worth having chronic or terminal illness when you are 50 years old. And I am mad at Donut for also not having a safety supervisor. Do better donut, you make entertainment that is viewed by young kids, this is not something you should be promoting. I love Donut and their content, but it's irresponsible to promote unsafe working conditions. Be better.
Watching him weld without gloves... gives me the chills, those burns suck. Just as a matter of policy and practice, he might wear some eye protection and gloves, ALL THE TIME, in a shop.
He brings some fun zoomer energy to the cast. I fuck with this. Also hilarious that seeing Nolan in the shot with Tristan really makes Nolan seem like the old guard who's nervously enthusiastic about the next generation lmao
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Donut builds, the amount of work to get it to a acceptable state before all the cool stuff gets added is really interesting.
I don't get the hate the kids getting. So he's not on the og roster, doesnt mean hes not a good addition. All I see is a man, hammering away at a car and explaining why and what he's hammering away at. Which is kinda what Im here for. Props for the floor pull dude, stuff was dope! and it worked.
"i know what i have" "no lowballers, no cash no test drive" "never raced, show car" "Enthusiast owned" "wont find any rust" "Good commuter, AC snows" "Rare Jdm parts" -ahhh car
I love how he welds gloveless, mentions that he should wear gloves, goes back to welding gloveless at 15:58 and then remembers to wear them again at 16:05
I've been sub'd to donut for 5 years now, and I genuinely love this new series and Tristan. It's original, it relatable, dude is funny af. Great job man
I love this series! Repairing a car that's not in good condition. Not dropping loads of money on performance parts or paying someone else to do it. Doing it the right way inexpensively, while also showing that not all repairs are as scary or impossible to do as most people presume. Keep it up Tristan! Can't wait to see how this ends up
This video really highlights my greatest weakness when working on cars: welding and body repair. Tristan is really showing off some cool as hell work. I'm so excited to see what comes next.
The fact that Tristan is painting the inside of the fender of something soooooo clapped out really shows his commitment to getting this right. Really impressive tbh, mans is doing this shit proper!
I normally don't comment on RUclips videos that often but gosh this tristan guy is a whole new vibe! Paired with heber, this two very well could revive donut and add what we missed most. Bravo boys 👏 ❤
I'll be real, when Donut lost a bunch of good hosts all around the same time I thought the channel was cooked. I wrote them off. This series is my favorite thing they've done in years though and Tristan is a top tier host. I am so happy to have been wrong.
i really love tristan as a host he's really good and found his rythm at donut now and he seems to know his shit casting people at donut are really good at their job
god i love tristan - he's quickly becoming one of my favorite donut hosts. i can almost already hear the safety talks from management with this one ahahaha
Heber’s my new favorite dude, as a respiratory toxicologist I feel such immense relief seeing someone actually wear a respirator. WEAR YOUR F’ING PPE PEOPLE!!!!
Hell yeah more scion renovation! Feels honestly so good to see all the half-assed work being undone and stuff getting repaired properly. Also, the body kit looks SO sick, this car is legitimately gonna look incredible, can't wait for the next episode :D
I started watching tristian on tiktok since 2022 and immediately loved his content because of his funny sense of humor and now watching him here on donut is so coolll. Although Ive also been watching donut since the og crew and I still miss them, i think tristian makes donut enjoyable again.
This guy's my new favorite host. The rest of the hosts that have filled those empty spots aren't as personable to me at least. Well I assume he's a new or newish host. Haven't seen him before in any videos I've watched.
Took that coolent to the face like a champ! No drama just clear instuction for the water bottle I get so stressed if anything gets in my eyes I'd just be sitting there frozen 😂😂
@ for context: Zach Jobe is the guy who previously held Tristan Kim’s position as the resident “mechanic/host” and he was damn good. But Tristan is holding his own. All love..
I saw the FR-S on a lift in a previous HILO and just knew we would be getting another clapped out vid soon! As a second gen BRZ owner, I am here for it.
“This is the perfect way to leave my car on jackstands for 3 years…” hit me so hard. I have a perfectly good ‘65 Chevy sitting in my garage that hasn’t run for over 3 years because it has some small pesky fuel issues that “I just don’t have the time for”. Lol
If you want better dexterity while welding, try gloves made specifically for MIG welding, rather than SMAW/Stick welding ones, which are the ones he had on felt so limiting. Those two are relatively interchangeable However, do NOT use gloves marketed for TIG welding for any other precoesses, as those are too thin to be used safely outside of TIG welding.
If you file a notch in the rivnut holes with a triangle file (when installing them in the first place) then they won't spin later when you go to remove the fastener.
Tristan a walking OSHA violation
bro funny af. this the only series from Donut that im looking forward to atm
Somebody get him some drippy safety glasses he won't "forget" to wear

Watching him weld without gloves... gives me the chills, those burns suck. Just as a matter of policy and practice, he might wear some eye protection and gloves, ALL THE TIME, in a shop.
tristan brings a very candid feel to these videos and i love it. this is easily my favorite series on donut.
I know he knows his stuff, but I like Tristan’s “casual/idk what I’m doing” style. Makes him relatable to a non-mechanic car lover
For real. I'm really enjoying his stuff. It's like the new money pit.
He brings some fun zoomer energy to the cast. I fuck with this.
Also hilarious that seeing Nolan in the shot with Tristan really makes Nolan seem like the old guard who's nervously enthusiastic about the next generation lmao
Reminds me of the older tj hunt videos
hes incredibly cringy to a 30-something year old mechanic. but what do i know.
Damn that original car owner was the real “silicone-ator”
Exactly what I was thinking
😂🎉
Check out mat armstrong's mansory rebuild, those people use glue everywhere
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Donut builds, the amount of work to get it to a acceptable state before all the cool stuff gets added is really interesting.

In the first few episodes he was way over the top. But I think that in this episode he found a good balance. I'm looking forward to the next episode!
Maybe he just appeals to a younger generation…not for me though. I can’t make it through his episodes even if I like the concept of the video. 🫤
I love it! Refreshing after the buy-out of Donut. Been so commercialized lately. Oof. Miss old donut.
he’s got some strong tiktok fboy vibes that are kinda off putting, but he does well when he’s getting technical or is working w Heber and Steph
He’s just as immature as Jerry so I don’t see the problem. Don’t change Tristan
I would love to know what the previous owner's feeling right now. Cause there's no way he's not watching this series.
Gotta be exteme happiness. He got paid well over market value for this piece of trash and now he gets to see someone fix it.
He got money to ruin the next car
his mental health will be -1000000000000 after watching dis
Dude's about to get roasted by an entire community.
Been there before, ain't fun. No I'm not ready to talk about it.
@@tony-does-stuff😂😅😅😅😮😅
Damn, Tim Henson from Polyphia really knows his shit
i swear to god i say this out loud every time i see tristan in these videos lmao
i'm glad someone else said it because for SURE i knew i wasn't the only one
I can’t unsee it😭😭
THATS WHO HE LOOKS LIKE Jesus Christ thank you

Heber and Tristen are such a good team + add to the Donut crew. Feels like I'm watching me and my friends goof around while working on our cars.
I love this series! Repairing a car that's not in good condition. Not dropping loads of money on performance parts or paying someone else to do it. Doing it the right way inexpensively, while also showing that not all repairs are as scary or impossible to do as most people presume. Keep it up Tristan! Can't wait to see how this ends up
I like this. Car guys doing car things. I’m excited to see how good this car turns out when it’s all fixed up
This video really highlights my greatest weakness when working on cars: welding and body repair. Tristan is really showing off some cool as hell work. I'm so excited to see what comes next.
This dude seems really cool, he has his own style and not trying to imitate others. Awesome!
Yep! He's doing a good job to accept others busting his balls while not being too cocky. Smart!
Exactly. Not fond of him.
Not trying to imitate anyone except the millions of similar gen z tik tok “influencers.”
@@kevlar5150makes no sense. What are you agreeing with
@@Atchaboiiiiwell at least he’s doing more than you are I guess
Truly love Tristan, he is like his own monster inside the Donut universe and totally knows how to explain stuff in a relatable and enjoyable way
The worst cars can be good if you put enough effort into it, because lemons make lemonade 😂
Herbert showing some host vibes, yo.
*Heber
but yes I agree haha
I think he's the shop mechanic replacing Jobe
Herbert seems like the chillest dude with the purest soul ever, I'm glad he gets screen time!

Failed body kit is wild
It's true though, it's rusted and terrible. Previous owned cheaped out or didn't known to to properly install one
@@ethanacton408 hey brah...i saw this TikTok trick and....

Uh brotha uh brotha uh
im liking this series so far. its informative and shows what goes into all the "unshitboxing" of a project
24:03 Editors really delivered on everyone's dreams using an impact
Seeing him roll around in coolant completely filthy and fed up is far too relatable 😂
Tristan is an amazing host. Feels like he's been doing it for ages, really fun to follow along, doesn't even need a co-host.
The fact that Tristan is painting the inside of the fender of something soooooo clapped out really shows his commitment to getting this right. Really impressive tbh, mans is doing this shit proper!
Funny thing is I’m currently enrolled in collision repair technologies and this is like heaven seeing the body work side
The previous owner watching this like 😬
I normally don't comment on RUclips videos that often but gosh this tristan guy is a whole new vibe! Paired with heber, this two very well could revive donut and add what we missed most. Bravo boys 👏 ❤
I hope at the end they tell us how much the repair cost vs how much he paid for it, fucking love Tristan he’s hilarious

OHSA having a field day with this one
The "Retrospective Safety tips" should have a "What did we learn?" Star and rainbow like "The more you know" I think that would be great
I'll be real, when Donut lost a bunch of good hosts all around the same time I thought the channel was cooked. I wrote them off. This series is my favorite thing they've done in years though and Tristan is a top tier host. I am so happy to have been wrong.
12:49 what in the Disney
Watching Tristan work makes me feel like im back in automotive class in high-school, working on our own cars and learning along the way. Great videos!
20:23
That is the most “McGyver” thing I’ve seen on Donut.
Singing MULAN… respect 👍
I am absolutely on board with this
so excited for the robot kit, been eyeing it for months, no proper videos on it and when the stars align, donut is doing a video on it no less.
Okay, I'm on board with this series now! Awesome energy and can't wait for the next episode!
Ngl there needs to be a season 2 for this one. Bc oh boi, my guy is entertaining! Love you T
Tristan Kim at donut was not on my bingo card but I'm happy about it now we just need Bon Swa
I love Tristan's energy and dgaf attitude! He is quickly becoming my new favorite!
This kids been a great addition to the face of the team! Funny and relatable 😂👌
i really love tristan as a host he's really good and found his rythm at donut now and he seems to know his shit
casting people at donut are really good at their job
Lemons make lemonade, so if you try hard enough the worst of cars can be good lol
god i love tristan - he's quickly becoming one of my favorite donut hosts. i can almost already hear the safety talks from management with this one ahahaha
Steph will be impressed with the amount of silicone on this
lol Jimmy has some real balls shit talking others taste in cars after turning a miata into a lowrider XD
The long sniff and “that’s good dirt” just won me over haha.
Not gonna lie Tristan is lowkey becoming my favorite Donut host of all time
The editor in this video needs a raise
I'm loving this series because it's teaching me more about my car.
Tristin has truly retained my attention to this channel
Thats mad amount of work that you guys are doing. Mad respect
Love seeing Nolan walk in and seem like the wise, reasonable person
Heber’s my new favorite dude, as a respiratory toxicologist I feel such immense relief seeing someone actually wear a respirator. WEAR YOUR F’ING PPE PEOPLE!!!!
I work at a body shop fixing wreaked cars and stuff. To me it looks as you guys are doing a good job and having fun at the same time. Keep it up. 👍👍
Tristan is truly relatable with his nonchalant attitude towards safety, I feel that
Hell yeah more scion renovation! Feels honestly so good to see all the half-assed work being undone and stuff getting repaired properly. Also, the body kit looks SO sick, this car is legitimately gonna look incredible, can't wait for the next episode :D
Okay the body kit at the end got me excited to see what's next keep it up youngin
Absolutely loving this new donut arc of experimenting with random shit like this frs, love seeing more of heber and Tristan
26:08 I can hear Sandro saying in a gentle whisper, "thanks for wasting my time" lol 😆
I really love this series, can't wait to see the next vid
ayo Tristan, fellow zoomer here. You're doing fonking great, don't listen to the bullshit about how people don't like your style or performance.
This is gonna be the dopest Donut \transformation tbh
This is great, thanks for having this series

I thought those solutions are only popular in east Europe. Awesome job fixing it Tristan and Heber!! ❤
I love Tristan he has vibe and actually working on the car.

Big up the Robot GT86 Widebody kit, love to see the kit get the recognition it deserves!
24:12 - I totally had that happen to me when I was changing out my turbo. Can definitely empathize; coolant is not fun in the eyes.
They yassified Tristan in the thumbnail. Donut is back to peak, scuffed transition but absolutely monstrous recovery
Theres just something great about seeing something be restored
Now this is what I needed today!
Tristan is EARNING this build, boys are putting in the grimy work
I am very much enjoying these new guys in this video. They all seem to have good personalities and chemistry.
This was some real shit, Tristan really went from John Krasinski in the office to John Krasinski in A silent place!
Have you seen his s14 build on TikTok? Tristan has proven that he is a serious builder.
You are incredible, don't stop creating content!
Finally to start watching this video, keep it going. This guy makes fire videos Homie’s gonna be Nolan move up the ranks.
This the best episode I have seen in a while from Donut!!!!! More please!!!
On the two large relief cuts, cut them completely out and put a patch in, you don’t want to overlap a patch and give moisture somewhere to sit
It’s TEMU Jobe!! You keep growing on me! A few more episodes of Unclapped and I’ll actually start calling you Tristan 😂😂
?
@ for context: Zach Jobe is the guy who previously held Tristan Kim’s position as the resident “mechanic/host” and he was damn good. But Tristan is holding his own. All love..
