Husband of Bride Killed by Alleged Drunk Driver Speaks Out

- The heartbroken groom whose bride was killed on their wedding day by an accused drunk driver is speaking for the first time. Aric Hutchinson and his bride, Samantha, were leaving their wedding reception in a golf cart when they were hit by a car. He was badly injured but Samantha was killed. The alleged drunk driver, Jamie Komoroski, was charged with reckless homicide and DUI. Now, Aric is suing her, saying she was "grossly and dangerously intoxicated" after "a booze-filled day of bar hopping." We reached out to her attorney and were told they had “no comment.”
Drinking and driving is such a selfish act and yet so many deem it an acceptable risk. This is truly heartbreaking.
There is no excuse to drive drunk. Ever.

Why do we demonize people when they decide to drink and drive yet call it rape when a man sleeps with a drunk woman? It’s not a woman’s fault because she decided to drink at a party but it’s the drivers fault because they decided to drink at a party. “Oh because one decided to get behind the wheel” How can anyone blame a drunk person for the decisions they make when they’re DRUNK?! We don’t blame the woman for the decision she made. In fact, we say that she is unable to make that decision if she woke up the next day and regretted it. If the driver wakes up and regrets it shouldn’t that be treated the same?

From someone with a serious loss like this, (My 8 and a half month old daughter.) He is willing and able to cry, I know that may seem trivial but he will be OK with time. Never over it, but through.

Ironically people will never talk about banning alcohol like they want to ban guns. Alcohol kills more people than guns. It destroys lives.

Give parents and children proper education and no advertisements on alcohol, this will work better in the long run. I lost my Cousin to a hit and run and it has Devastated my family. I could only imagine how this man is feeling he lost the love of his life to such tragic and horrible Circumstances on of all nights I will be praying for you and you're family my friend and I am so sorry that you lost your wife. I have no pity for drunk drivers. There is so many other options

If they can prove they served her and she was visible drunk, they will more then likely win in civil court against the bars.

I lost my uncle to a drunk driver. We had a family get together pool party the day before at his house. My aunt got into booze, my cousin imto heroin. It took 30 years for my family, the entire family to have another get together. The loss i cant put into words. Nothing anyone can say to make this young man feel better. Time thats it.
This is horrible, suing the bars is probably the one head shaker, unless they have specific information that's just a "hope for settlement" move. People could have bought her a drink or drinks, went to different bartenders, bar hopped so unless she was stumbling, the bartenders wouldn't even know she was already drinking. There's just too many variables
I understand the idea of those laws but you cant put the responsibility of the patrons on the bar staff. We see slammed they get no way we can expect them to babysit drunks also

I'm glad he's suing her employer. Too often companies have these kinds of functions where they encourage everybody to get wasted. It is entirely inappropriate for that to be encouraged by one's place of employment. Company should actually discourage employees from assembling and drinking together. This is how many workplace harassment situations get started.
Time will tell, if the boss has any blame. More then likely the lawyer is just casting a wide net with the civil case.

I don't think he was in a good mental place to do this interview. All GMA cares about is exploiting the story for ratings. He probably felt pressured to speak out but I think they should just leave him alone and let him grieve.

I really like that he's not letting this go. That drunk driver made a choice to kill someone as soon as she got in that car. She doesn't deserve forgiveness. This wasn't a mistake, it was a choice.

someone from my camp was killed by a drunk driver. he was just riding his bike, and got hit. driver never stopped, just zoomed on past. to honor him, the camp named the stage after him. may he Rest In Peace.

I read how the driver said to people that her life is now over. That is the definition of person who only thinks about themselves. A normal person would be dying inside knowing she was the reason someone died. She should be depressed and mad at herself for making this stupid decision. But no she is worried that now her life is over. No... the brides life is over. I know she will get what she deserves. She is not getting away with this. If you want people to feel bad for you, only caring about what your pathetic life looks like now is not going to get people to feel bad for her.

😢 all I can do is pray for this man and it's hard to be healed from his loss. I could say all kinds of things that would be true about drunk driving, but I think the focus needs to be on this man and his recovery, from the loss of his bride. I realize this is not just one case that this happens, but we need to be compassionate for this man and the pain he is suffering, along with is physical healing as well. It’s true. But in this case the victims were in a golf cart so it’s a given there’d be a one-way problem. There’s probably lots of drunk drivers who die too but the ones who survive stick out most so we focus on them more.
This woman is the only one responsible 100 percent. No one else is responsible for what this woman did. She’s the only one that drove drunk and killed that Bride. Praying for her husband and all the Family. ❤️🙏❤️
She was out bar hoping, if they can prove she was visible drunk at these bars and served more. The bars will also be liable for the actions of the women.
