Hello Sandra, I'm 70 years also and at times I do a little shaking. Comes with the territory. I can't thank you enough for you doing videos. Great ideas, and you just seem like a fun loving person. Can' wait to watch more and thank Altenew for you being on their design team.
Oh thank you so much Therese! I'm sorry I haven't answered you before this. I've been away from RUclips for a while due to some medical issues. But I'll be back soon! Great work! Thank you for your inspiration. It makes me want to create with washi tape now! And, I think you're amazing to be having this type of a RUclips Channel when you're 70!
Awesome Tobi! I hope this technique will help you create some beautiful cards! If you are on FB, I'd love you to join my community there and post your creations (that way I can see them!). You can find us at: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema
I think your channel is fantastic. So happy you decided to post all of your beautiful creative ideas. I truly believe they are a blessing to all of us, and please keep up the fantastic work you are doing.

I caught this by accident and realized I had seen your first one. I remembered to subscribe thus time! I just love the ideas in this video. I turned 70 in April and my brain says I'm 30 as my body laughs hysterically. It feels a whole lot older!
I completely understand, Valerie! I am so very sorry for this horribly late response. I am still trying to catch up after taking several months off due to some health challenges.❤️
It's 2024, your demonstration was excellent. You gave me ideas and the inspiration to use my beautiful washi tape from Altenew. I'm a retired teacher, older than you. You remind of a person who was an educator at some time. Congratulations on such a good job.
Beautiful cards and now I know where to get the wide washi tape - thank you! Speaking of wall paper, wish I had a buck for every roll I have hung in my lifetime, I'm 78! Learned as a teenager helping my Grandmother and my Dad, then taught my hubby when we owned a 3 family house and wallpapered every apartment between tennants. We moved to Florida 8 years ago and I papered both my kitchen and bathroom, I still LOVE wallpaper! I have subscribed and can't wait to see more.
Me too! I have hung more rolls of wallpaper than I can count! If you are on Facebook, I would love to have you join my Cardmaking Community. It's a wonderful place to get encouraged and be inspired! facebook.com/groups/sandespoema
Your video showed up in my RUclips newsfeed and I am so glad! I was a daycare director for 25 years and retired in October 2020. I think looking back, I had a emotional breakdown when I was done 😢. I have lived with chronic pain since a failed back surgery in 2008 and am finding relief and recovery now in 2023. I am excited to find your channel and know I have YEARS to create (I will turn 60 in Sept). Thank you for sharing!
Oh my gosh, Sharon, you DO have years!!! I will be 72 in October and I am still finding ways to create. If you are on Facebook, I would love to have you join my card making community there... you'll find us at facebook.com/groups/sandespoema ❤️

My thoughts exactly, Rosemary! I hope you've tried your washi techniques by now... I'm sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you. I seem to keep having one health challenge after another that sets me back, but I keep persevering! If you are on Facebook I'd love to have you join my card making community. Sandra so happy I stumbled upon your channel! Last night close to midnight I watched one of your videos. Really liked how you presented your project. This morning I watched the washing tape cards which you said was your second video. I gave you a like and I subscribed! I'm getting close to 70 as well (68). its great to see our age with a RUclips channel. Thank you Altenew. My mom was an interior designer so I would go with her to the wallpaper stores and spent a lot of time going through books and books of wallpaper! So of course I had wallpaper in ny kitchen. Thanks for sharing this great washing tape cards. Im pulling out my washing today and definitely going to try this! Thanks again Sandy! And I have always thought age is only a number. We are only as old as we chose to be. Remember 60s are the 50s, 70s are the 60s. People are living longer. So you go girl!🥰 love and hugs!
Thanks so much! I used to do the same thing -- flipping through book after book of wallpaper. 😊 Now I get the same enjoyment looking at patterned paper sets... and, in fact, I'm now designing my own digital, downloadable patterned papers and sending them out every week for others to use! (I've faced some increased health challenges since I made this tutorial, and I've had to switch to making digital cards and digital resources for others to print and use in their card making). You are right: we're only as old as we choose to be. Are you on Facebook? If so, I'd love to have you join my card making community there. You can find us at: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema Thanks again for taking the time to comment! 😊
Hi Marilyn! I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to respond to you. I've had some health challenges that have put me WAY behind! I hope you've been able to experiment with your washi! :-)
You are an awesome instructor! I get very inspired when I watch. You are a soul inspirational and I love how peaceful and calm you are when you were teaching us. I have been making for many years, but we all lose our mojo every once in a while and need, some new inspiration and kickstarting and you have absolutely done that for me. Thank you again.
Oh Frances, thanks so very much for your kind comment! You have no idea how much that means to me. I really appreciate it. I have had a difficult year with my health that has prevented me from making cards, so hearing that these tutorials are helpful is such a blessing! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, Melaine! I'm so sorry for my delayed response. I have been facing some health challenges that have kept me behind and behinder these days...
Thank you for this tutorial. I am just starting making cards, and am so interested in doing anything. Stencils, die cutting, stamping, you name it, I'm gonna try it. Thankfully I have a hubby who thinks it's ok! lol. Thanks again, and best of luck to you.

That was a great video. I love all the cards you created. I reaaly adore washi tape and have a collection. I am very excited to use my stash trying these ideas. Using washi tape to create the die cut words is brilliant! Thank you
Wow! These are so lovely! Who knew! Fabulous cards. And with washi tape! Love them. I now blame you for having spent all my money on wide washi and velum! 😂 Thank you, great inspiring video.
Wow, they're amazing cards and so simple in the making yet with striking final results! I also like my cards to look 'professional' which is why I take days to make one, with the result that I don't want to sell them and also find it hard to post to relatives because I can't think of my cards being tossed into the bin!!!
Oh my gosh, I just realized that I never responded to you! Thanks so very much Penelope! I am so sorry it's taken me this long... I have faced multiple health challenges this year and I am WAY behind. I really appreciate your comments! :-)
Thanks Jeanne! I just taught a big workshop on different uses for washi today and I will be posting the workshop video soon. I hope it will also inspire you in some way!
Gosh it’s taken me such a long time to discover your channel…and I absolutely love it,I’m going to have so much fun catching up on all your videos, thank you for your very clear and easy tutorials
Washi tape is so versatile as now they come in so many sizes, not just the tiny little strips from years ago. Depending on the washi you can use the really wide ones for a super simple card, pick the washi and sentiment and it’s basically done. Thanks for sharing 👍✌️🙏❤️✌️✨You’re a fabulous teacher, so easy going, you explain things really well.
Great ideas for using washi tape and embossing folders together! Each card was special and beautiful. I especially liked the way you used the vellum to tone down the brightness and soften the look of the washi tape.
Jackie, thanks so much for your comment! I love that vellum technique too. There's just so many possibilities for all of these materials that I feel we get into our routines and don't realize everything we can do. I am on a quest to make these discoveries and share them with others! :)
THIS IS FABULOUS!! I made greeting cards for many years, then stopped because my hands were shaking and my coordination was bad (multiple sclerosis). I honestly thought there would be no way I could continue with the hobby I had come to love so much. After reading some of your user's comments, I realize I am not alone and that there is hope for me yet! This site is a major inspiration to me. Thank you.
There is always HOPE! Susan, I am SO SORRY that it's taken me this long to respond to you... I have had several months (almost a year) fighting new health challenges, so I am WAY behind! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to leave your comment. It means so much to me! I hope you are feeling well yourself.... I don't know if you're on Facebook or not, but if you are, I would love to have you join my Card Making Community. Sande, thank you so much for sharing this video with us. I just found your channel and subscribed as soon as I finished watching you. 8i was a good student today, didn't chew gum or talk in class or didn't disrupt the class in any way, lol. You sound like a hoot to be around. I'm 72 yrs. Young and still love to learn so thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh, Marguerite, thanks so much for your kind comment! I also am 72, and I would say the same to you -- you sound like a hoot to be around! I'm so glad that you enjoyed my tutorial. Thank you! I am coming up on 67 in October and just started on this journey also! I was a jewelry (bead) maker and can no longer do that fine work with teeny tiny beads, LOL. But card and journal making has become my new muse and I love it! I do not have the wide washi tape, but I am off to try this concept with 3 inch, 1/2 inch, and 1/8 inch and just see how it goes! I am now a new subscriber of yours also!
Thanks so much. I really appreciate your comment, and I hope that card making will be a wonderful outlet for your creativity! Are you on Facebook? If so, I would love to have you join my community there. You can find us at: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema. I'm so sorry for my delayed response. Hi Sande, greetings from Australia, ❤ love your video. Lovely cards. I am 78 and have been still teaching classes and loving making cards no matter the physical challenges.
I think you are just amazing!! I found your channel recently after I purchased a bunch of Altenew alcohol markers and needed a starting point to use them. You do such a fantastic job and I appreciate how thorough you are in describing your process. This video is great because I have a ton of washi tape from Altenew just begging to be used up. Thank you!!!
Oh my gosh, Tara, thank so very much for your kind comment! I guess my thoroughness comes from being an educator for 50+ years. LOL! I would love to see your cards as you make them. I'd like to invite you to my Facebook Card Making Community where you can post your creations... I love seeing everyone's posts and I comment on every one of them. [Well, that is my normal process.... right now I am trying to recover from falling last week and I am fighting concussion symptoms. Ugh.] Anyway, I'd love to have you join, if you are on FB. Hi Sandy, I just stumbled across your video. Thank you for giving us another way of doing beautiful easy cards. I haven’t seen any wide washi tape when shopping for craft items, but I will now definitely keep my eye out for them to try this😂 method. I am also 70 and only started card making last year, but enjoying this new hobby.
Gai, thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I hope you've tried out this technique by now. I'm sorry for the delay in responding... I've been facing some health challenges that have me moving slower than usual. There are several companies that offer wide washi tape, but check out Altenew. They have several different beautiful choices. Also, if you are on Facebook, I would love to have you join my Card Making Community. It's a great place to get inspired and learn more about card making. If you're interested, you can find us here: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema ❤️

Hi Sande, your video came up on my feed a year later (better late than never), and I truly love the way that you used washi tape to on your cards! The only thing different I would of done on the last card (For You), I would of matched my half-back pearls with the main color of the card (purple) so that they would show up better. And if I didn't have any colored pearls I often color my white pearl using copic or whatever brand of markers on them, I rarely buy colored gems/pearls anymore. New subbie here ! May your coming week be full of blessings for you. Carol-Lynn
Thanks so much for your comments, Carol-Lynn. I really appreciate them! I am sorry it's taken me so long to respond to you. I'm still trying to catch up after some health challenges...

I hope you do try it! And, if you are on Facebook, I would love for you to join my card making community and post your cards so I can see them! If you're interested, you can find us here: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema ❤️
You are awesome, great detail
Oh my gosh, I just realized that I never responded to you! Thanks so very much Dawn! :-)
Hi Sandra I'm 70 now and made cards for years but never thought of using washing like this thank you so much Marilyn ( England) X sorry washi tape
That was a great video. I love all the cards you created. I reaaly adore washi tape and have a collection. I am very excited to use my stash trying these ideas. Using washi tape to create the die cut words is brilliant! Thank you
Thanks so much for your kind comments, Nancy! They mean so much to me. :-)
Wow! These are so lovely! Who knew! Fabulous cards. And with washi tape! Love them. I now blame you for having spent all my money on wide washi and velum! 😂
Thank you, great inspiring video.
LOL - I guess I will take that blame! I just hope it inspires you to make some lovely cards to bless others! :-)
Hi. Great video, the cards are beautiful. Your an awesome teacher, taking the time to show us each step. Tfs. All the best to you. Sherry 🇨🇦.
@@sandespoema oh no worries, I hope you are better now, blessings to you
Dear Sande, I was never a big washi fan, but you have made me reconsider. Love your cards, and your way of demonstrating. Thank you. 🦋🦋
Thanks so very much! I'm so sorry for the late reply. I've had to take time off due to some health challenges, so I'm trying to catch up!
I imagine the learning curve for making videos is steep. Good for you for taking on the challenge! The cards are beautiful.
It IS difficult! But I am learning and moving forward... Thanks so much Betty. :)
Oh my, Yelena, this is the third comment I've seen from you! THANK YOU SO MUCH! [Please see my replies on the others.} ❤️
I’ve watched both videos! Thank you very much something new to try!😍❤️👵🏻
Lovely cards. I haven't used washi Tape either. I think I need to try these techniques. Thanks for sharing ❤
Hello Sande, thank you for showing us how to make these beautiful and easy cards!!
Thank you so much! I'm so sorry for the late reply. I've had to take time off due to some health challenges, so I'm trying to catch up!
Thank you.

Hi Sande, greetings from Australia, ❤ love your video. Lovely cards. I am 78 and have been still teaching classes and loving making cards no matter the physical challenges.
Exactly! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. :-)
I also remember wallpaper very well, brings back a lot of good memories.
Beautiful cards!
Love that first card. Never used washi tape. Gotta get some.
I love the wide washi! But you can do the same thing by putting strips of narrow washi on your card and then embossing it all together. 😊
Just came upon your channel. Thank you for sharing your creativity with me. God bless you.
Thanks so much, Stella! I truly appreciate your kind comments. :-)

Carol-Lynn
