I am recovering from knee surgery and am watching your video for 2021 watercoloring and then using gilded polish on my tv on youtube. Wanted you to know that you taught me something new and I so appreciate it! Planning on watching your other videos!!
I'm recovering from a total knee replacement too! Thanks so much for taking the time to make a comment. I really appreciate it! ❤️
Thank you for this! You’re a great teacher. I notice this is from 2 years ago. Glad I found you. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos.
Thank you for your video and your patience in "instructing for beginners". As a newly retired middle school math teacher (41 years), I'm just starting to learn new techniques for card making. Now I need to check out some of your other videos to help up my game. :)
Hi Sandi! Thank you so much for your kind comments! I really appreciate them. I would love to have you join my Facebook Cardmaking Community. It's a great place where you can learn, make new retirement friends, and get encouragement and support as you grow in your skills. Plus you can pre-register for any of my workshops. My next one is about using Alcohol Markers (perfect for beginners). It is on 5/15 and it's FREE..... One friend I've met in my FB group is also a retired middle school teacher from WA. I think she taught 38 years! You can find us at: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema
So glad to meet you! I would love to help in any way I can. :-)
Your years of being an educator have served you well, great tutorial and tips/techniques you have learned! Kudos to launching your channel and sharing your love of card making with us!
Thanks so much! I am so blessed by your comments! 💜
Thanks so much for showing the coloring in real time instead of speeding it up. How else can a person learn if not in really time. I am the same age as you, and also a teacher. You are really good! Thank you for the efforts in creating for everyone out there!😘
Hi Sharon. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I'm so sorry for my delayed response. I have been facing some health challenges that have kept me behind and behinder these days... I completely agree with you! (As I think any teacher would.) But unfortunately 90+% of those who make video tutorials have no teaching background. You CAN watch the videos in slow speed, but you lose the audio narration with that choice. I really appreciate your encouragement so much! ❤️
I’m 76 and so glad to have come across your very “understandable and instructive” video. I hope you will post many more, as you are very informative, creative, and enjoyable to watch! Thanks so much for sharing your know and displaying your lovely works of art!
Oh Diane, that is such a kind thing to say! I really appreciate it so much! Blessings to you ~
I love gilding polish, glad it's getting recognition!
Me too! Thanks so much for leaving a comment, Carrie! :-)
I am not surprised that you were a teacher - it shows! Wonderful presentation!
Thanks so much for your kind comment! I really appreciate it so much!
This is one of the prettiest cards. It reminded me of my Grandmothers Vintage Hull Vase. So feminine and vintage. I even liked it with just the ink before the water coloring. It looked like antique plaster molding. I love your technique and teaching style. Just wonderful.
Elisa, now that you mention it, it DOES look like that plaster molding! I never thought of that before! Thanks so much for your kind comments. I'm sorry that I haven't responded to you before this. I have had some health challenges that are making me run behind...
If you are on FB, I would love to have you join my card making community. It is a wonderful environment full of encouragement and inspiration! You can find us here: facebook.com/groups/sandespoema
Watched this again and am happy I did. One forgets when there is so much to learn. Thanks. Eudice
Thanks for the comment, Eudice. I hope you're doing well! :-)
This one of the best teaching videos I have ever seen. I agree with you when you say that for some people it is important to see every step of the process. I am one of those people.
I am a perfectionist too.
Sounds like you and I have a lot in common, Dede! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. :-)
If you are on Facebook, I'd like to invite you to join my Cardmaking Community. I try to make it a "community," and not just another group. We have a lot of positive affirmation, encouragement, and inspiration!

I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone using watercolor pencils to color an embossed paper before. It is a much neater and better way than using any inks or watercolor paints! I’ve never liked how it looks using those techniques. Thank you for the good idea!
Thanks so much for your comment, Julie! To tell the truth, I wasn't sure that it would work... but I experimented and it did! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Blessings to you! 💗
Watching your video with the gilding polish has surely sent me into unknown waters! I have never used the polish, and once I saw your video, ordered a bottle and tried it, I was amazed at how beautiful it is…and now have several more colors of it and have learned even more methods for using it. Thank you!
That looks so pretty ! I know about Denali. I lived in Anchorage in 1964 when we had the big earthquake. My high school...West Anchorage High fell into the ocean and we had to double up with East Anchorage High for many months. We lived on Government Hill.
Wow! We have lived here almost 4 years. We retired here from CA. We've had one big earthquake since we've been here, but we're used to them in CA too. :-)
I'm so glad I found your videos I've been crafting for quite a few years BUT not done any for almost a year and was ready to give all my craft stash away my mojo just wouldn't work for me but you and your videos have inspired me try again THANK YOU ❤❤❤
Oh Jean, your comment blesses me so much! I am so glad that something I have done would help you feel motivated and inspired! My own card making journey has taken a different direction than I thought in the past year. Due to some health challenges I haven't been able to actually make physical cards.... so after truly completely losing my own mojo and feeling useless, I have chosen to delve into the world of digital card making... as a friend says, "Making lemonade from the lemons I've been given." So I am moving forward in a new way to express my creativity. I just posted my first tutorial along those lines last week. All that to say that I totally "get" where you have been, and to know that I have helped in some way to motivate you is really meaningful to me. Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment. ❤️❤️❤️

I usually don’t watch year old videos but I am so glad I came across yours. I love what you did with the gilded wax. I have watermelon pencils but never thought to use it on the embossing for fare that it would dent. I love the way you teach. You have a way of grabbing ones attention . The cards are lovely
Thanks so much for your kind comment! I really appreciate it so much...
Love this card. Using the lavender strips on the sides is a great idea. I have wasted so much of my good Pearl paper using it to make the whole card with it. Thank you.
Your welcome, Suzy! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Thank you for a beautiful card! I too am nearing 70-but love my cards!
Oh thank you, Sherry! I feel the same way! :)
Me too! 71 yrs young next birthday.
I also love my crafts, mainly scrapbooking but I love the card tutorials as well.
I have learned many new techniques by watching card tutorials. 🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘
Beautiful card and great use of Gilding Polish. Keep teaching.
Oh my gosh, I just realized that I never responded to you! Thanks so very much Marcy! :-)
Both cards are just gorgeous. Thanks for not speeding up the coloring, but rather talking us through your process. Truly appreciate the teacher in you. Please continue to post.
Thank you so much Teresa! I truly appreciate your comments so much! :)
I've learned to cut my paper to the size I need for my card before embossing it! I've had to many tears!
I get it! Sorry I haven't responded before this, Jo. I'm still catching up after some health challenges. Blessings to you ~
You are amazing 😮 I have been trying to find a video to show me how to figure out what the side I want to emboss 😊 Thank you for sharing.
Beautiful card.
Great video and exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to try it. I love putting flowers on cards. Thank you
I'm so glad that it helped you, Janet! :-)
Have just watched this video….love this idea a beautiful card.😍💕💕🐶🐶🇬🇧🇺🇦👍
Thanks so much for your kind comment, Maureen!
I've watched three of your videos and enjoyed all. Thanks
Thanks so much, Pam! I'm glad you've enjoyed them!
I was just viewing different videos & I'm so glad I came upon your video... I'm fairly new to card making & you're right... newbies like myself need detailed explanations. Love your way of "teaching " So Wonderful! I am in no way near being an artist & will never be. I do however want to learn how to color enough. Your video encourages me to keep practicing. Your coloring just convinced me to buy Altenews woodless watercolor pencils & the gilding polish. I don't have to procrastinate any longer. Thank you!
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment, RJ! I apologize that it took me this long to respond. We've had family visiting and I've gotten behind and "behinder"! LOL If you are on Facebook, I would love to have you join my Cardmaking Community. It's a wonderful place to receive encouragement and inspiration! facebook.com/groups/sandespoema
What a wonderful video tutorial. Thanks so much Sande for sharing your talents! You are very pleasant to listen to which makes it even more enjoyable. 😊
Thanks so very much, Oralee! I appreciate your kind comments so very much! I am sorry that I haven't gotten back to you before this. Some health challenges have me running behind! Many blessings to you ~
Excellent video Sande, well planned and clearly explained. I love the overall effect. If you lightly mist the back of the card with water first, you will find it helps the embossing.
Hi Linda. Yes, this is an older video, so I didn't include that. Now I actually gently wipe with a baby wipe on the reverse side! I tend to either get it too wet or not wet enough when I try to spray! LOL
Both cards are lovely! I just ordered the gilding polish. God bless you, too!
Thanks so much, LeAnn!
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much!
Sande!!! Both cards are gorgeous. Thanks so much for the tutorial. I am subscribed, and eagerly awaiting your next entry. Thanks so much.
Thank you so much, Roberta! I appreciate it! I hope you will try it and see how it goes for you. :)

Great lesson. Your cards looks spectacular! You have inspired & motivated me to try these techniques!
Hi again, Barbara ~ These replies show up for me in reverse order, so I already read about your paper getting too wet. No biggie - just try again! I hope you have by now... 😘 If so, post your results in our FB group!
Gorgeous. Thank u for sharing
Thanks so much, Mariana! :-)
Thank you for going slow n explaining it so nicely. I enjoyed your presentation and can’t wait to try this. I just got some polish today and now I know how to use it. 👏👏👍👍🤩
Awesome! Thanks for your kind comments. :-)
Beautiful card! Thank you!!!
Thanks Dea. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :-)
I've just now found your video so this comment is WAY past your post date but...... better late than never! This card is BEAUTIFUL. The light layer of gilding polish makes a huge difference. The card was pretty before but adding the polish added a whole new "flavor"! I've not been a big fan of gilding polishes (other polishes as well) but after watching this video and seeing the difference it made on your card, I knew I couldn't live another day without it so I ordered a jar of the same color! I'm anxious to try the technique you demonstrated with some of my embossing folders! TFS!
Oh I'd love to see your card when you make it, Gayle! It would be good to have you join my Facebook Cardmaking Community, where you can post it and your other cards. A most informative and interesting presentation. I love the way you play your skills down. Thank you.
Thanks! LOL - not sure what you mean by "play your skills down." It's true that I have learned a lot, but I've only been cardmaking for 2 years, so I there are so many skills that I still need to absorb and grow in! :-)
Beautiful card and great ideas. Thank you. I’m going to try this today.
Great! I'm glad you were inspired! :-)
So beautiful 👏👏

Lovely video. What kind of paper did you use? Cardstock? Watercolor paper? Thanks!
Hi Ramona. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have been facing some medical challenges.... I used just heavyweight cardstock for this project, but I think watercolor paper would also be a great choice. :-)
Can you tell me what kind of paper you used for these cards? Great video btw!
Hi Jane. I'll have to check. These videos are a year old, or so. It was right when I started my channel. I would think either watercolor paper or heavier cardstock. Sorry I can't be more specific! :(
Was this done using regular cardstock, or with watercolor paper? I'm curious whether ordinary cardstock would handle the water OK.
I honestly don't remember on this exact card, but I think it was on regular heavy cardstock. The technique doesn't require a lot of water, so I think it should be fine. :-)
Where can we find the products used in this video?
If you click on the video description (below the actual video), there is a clickable list of all of the supplies there....
Is this watercolor paper
I don't actually remember, but yes, I think it is smooth watercolor paper. I'm so sorry for my delayed response. I have been facing some health challenges that have kept me behind and behinder these days!
