  • In this episode of Building a Barndominium, we finally started hanging drywall. We also ended up installing a bunch of noise suppression insulation in key walls throughout the house.
If you'd like a plan for a barndominium like this, check out my plan page. There are a few highly detailed plans so you can build with out details.

Also, to support the trades and kids looking to become tradespeople, if you buy a RR hat $12 will go directly to a non for profit. Thanks in advance for helping me support the future trades

I read the entire Ryan's ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan's Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan's Shed Plans.

Post to beam connector under floor for the post. You’d have to check on the sizes of them. If they don’t have the right size, you can pad out the floor joist to whatever size the connector is. Much stronger connection

If your posts are long enough, I cut the to so the lvl can sit basically inside the post. Grk through post through lvl back through post. Should keep it from twisting and drywall will hide any cut that isn’t exactly perfect.

At 20:30 is an example of people who do not install it well. Some people tuck it in by the studs with their finger tips, which is doesn't the best way by crushing it. The friction of the studs is the problem. You can use a piece of sheet metal on one side and push the rock with your palm flat. Then repeat the same move on the other side.

the connector you used to attach the post to the floor, use one of them in the ceiling, block out the ceiling to accept the fasteners for the connector. may need to jack lift the floor just a touch to get the bolt heads in the top of post or use the kind with a plate over the fasteners. trim around the post to suit, perhaps extend your blocking for the trim.
