Yeah, super cool to see it progress towards being a perfectly normal phone that also just happens to be able to fold in half.
They should fold to become tablet sized. They keep folding them the wrong way.
@@jacobnunya808 If that folding phone can also detach itself to become a phone and a tablet, I'd consider it. Personally, I want the option to have them separate, which I already have.
If the tablet's screen size doesn't depend on the phone's, I'd consider it too.

Tecno has really pushed their limits on their first fold phone. I can't imagine what the future holds for them

0:07 That was smooth.
“Back in my day when i was your age, all I had was a flip phone.”
The technology to make a folding phone has been around for several decades, even without flexible OLED screens.
It's just that no manufacturer (or, none that I've heard of) wanted to build a phone with two screens, usually opting for a screen in the top half and keyboard or numberpad in the lower half, rather than two capacitive touch screens separated by a hinge. Some did put a tiny secondary LCD on the outside/back of their phone, but they were mostly just glorified status lights.

The fact that today’s world has changed to say that “$700 is affordable” is crazy.

There's something extremely odd about this video. For instance, at 4:03 he's praising the Tecno phone for not having a noticible crease, but in every other shot there's a huge dent. Also, he's only complimenting it, with no downsides. Almost as if he's secretly paid for it.
It is a sponsored vid. Check the description.
Corporate espionage is how tecno must have got the technology to build this phone.
Yeah. There's nothing wrong with doing sponsored content, but being sneaky about it, merely implying it in the video and only explicitly stating it in the description, and presenting the video as an honest review whilst lying and making stuff up is not good. Marques Brownlee wouldn't do this.
But it's still an impressive phone.

I wouldn’t call it an affordable flip phone, but I’m really glad that a different company jumped into this category of smartphones. This will eventually force big companies to make much better flip phones or at least lower their price points. Good job.
It is affordable. And "affordable" is a relative term here.

This is the innovation the industry needs.
Tho I'm genuinely happy that more companies are jumping into foldable phone train, it's not something new that some new, small companies starting with a blast and then starting to feel the crunch in the market that is dominated by mobile giants. So they start with an acceptable phone but then they'll start to degrade in quality once they gain enough attention and i hope that's not the case here. Also one thing that arun forgot to mention was how long the company is able to support its products software wise and how much they're able to optimize their hardware to keep up with the competitors in a long run.
Good point! 💯

Absolutely!!!!
If tecno starts making phones better (just slow down with making random ahh phones) it would be mainstream phone brand.
Yes totally agreed...
bro just ignored their 100$-250$ phones bruh. They are absolutely king in value per price and I think they have the same software features as this one. Their $1000 fold is pretty good too
@@kklc5477 their 100-200$ phones are bad (source: buy used phone)
I would love to see more companies do this. I can see a possibility of more innovation coming in. The cover screen is the highlight for me. If for a smaller form factor, you sacrifice the steps it takes to check it or things like quick actions then there's no point. Samsung's lineup with their small fromt panel is still good but theres definitely room for improvement after watching this. And i would think that they were smart to include many of essential accessories inside the box. That plus the price seems like a good selling point.
Nice!! Now that's how you enter competition.

broski puts more effort into these vids then we even deserve
Before smartphones flip phones were quite common. They didn't take up so much space in pocket or purse which was good. That's still the only benefit I can see in these new flip smartphones so I probably wouldn't spend more to get one.
makes sense
I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought this. But actually, it made more sense with a phone with a plastic screen and physical buttons because it would help reduce the amount of dirt making contact with it. Modern phones have glass screens and no buttons. They are small enough to fit in most pockets so the size reduction won't matter unless it is tablet sized. Those are the foldables that make some sense.
@@jacobnunya808 Most mens' pockets. I rarely have a pocket that fits my phone as a woman. So having it be shorter like in a flip phone would help a bit with not needing an extra purse that could be stolen.
HOW IS THIS MAN PUTTING UP A VIDEO LIKE EVERY OTHER DAY

They don't need more innovation. They should fold to become tablet sized and have software built around that. If they could do that at a low price they will have made progress.
@@jacobnunya808 ?? Then look for the Samsung fold series that's what your looking for. @@termin29671 I should say they don't need innovation in this direction. Think of what is needed to make this design work.
