This was a very talented lady. Her music makes sense from beginning to end. She needs to be brought out of the shadows.

I'm currently writing a story where the main characters possess the three instruments in this song as their motifs, and this music has been helping me write their scenes in a way I feel comfortable with.
Full on masterpiece is what this serenade is

I'm so glad I found this piece. A real pity I had never heard of this composer before, because I think she had a lot of musicality and some original ideas that deserve recognition.

Mel Bonis' music has often something nostalgic or melancholic or something like that, for me...I don't know why I have often this impression...

This is my first exposure to Bonis and I don’t think I’ve heard another composers music that’s so similar in style to my own compositions

🤣🤣 perhaps your own composition is very close to hers, in style.... in according to the time....

Reminds me of Debussy's early Piano trio. Very, very nice!

There are quite a few changes to the score such as the end of the second and last movement. It’s a shame but it was nevertheless beautifully played and composed!
