It’s a older version of the OVS so I don’t believe it has any of those categories associated with

in your experience, can you mount the bracket upside down for a lower awning posture on the rack?

You can totally mount the bracket upside down. When I tried this method, I noticed two downsides, one being how close it was to the body of the truck and two how low the awning is when you deploy it.

Got an UpTop roof rack on mine and the same thing happened, the mounting bracket and hardware from OVS does not fit the UpTop roof rack. I went ghetto and used (8) 1/4” bolt carriage per mounting bracket along with its complimentary washers, lock washer and nuts.
