    We noticed we get the best fuel mpg in drive “B”

    Thank you it’s about time. Somebody explains about that. I need a little bit more information though on that B.

    I guess I would have to drive one and experience it first hand because I do not understand this concept.

      It just slows you down, and then uses that energy to recharge your battery. You can either manually slow down with the paddles or have the car do it in “B” mode.

    Wow. Good to know! I thought it was for downhill braking like a truck!

    • @RX-hb3np
      @RX-hb3np Год назад +2

      I think there is a button for that, look around the middle console. I think it maintains your cruising speed and applies the brakes on it's own when you go downhill.

    I work at a Honda dealership as a detailer, crvs aren't my favorite but they're much better then pilots and passports

    • @RX-hb3np
      @RX-hb3np Год назад

      I would not buy the Pilot simply based on the reason that the emergency brake in placed right on top of resting area for the left leg. What designer thought that was a good idea?!

    2 questions… 1) in B mode, does your brake light come on when your foot is off the gas? 2) I’ve heard many people report they don’t see better (maybe worse) gas mileage.

    • @johns6704
      @johns6704 5 месяцев назад +1

      In B mode it automatically uses a paddle setting every time you lift your foot off the gas. I'm not sure if you can set the paddle level or not. I think in sport mode you can. Not sure about the other drive modes.
      So you are trying to recycle (capture) as much energy that would ordinarily be lost when braking. When you use the paddle or B mode the electric motors resistance is used to slow the car down instead of the brakes and more energy is captured and recycled this way. If you are in D mode the engagement with the electric engine is minimal and you coast the way you would in a standard car that has disengaged from the motor. While coasting or breaking you only capture a small fraction that you would otherwise capture if using the engine to stop the car for you.

    • @johns6704
      @johns6704 5 месяцев назад +2

      The problem with driving in "B" mode is that you have to stay on the gas because every time you lift your foot off the gas the engine starts to slow the car down. So if you slow it down when you don't mean to then you have to accelerate again. And since the capture and recycle is only a percentage you could be burning more energy. If you are using "B" mode then you need to stay on the gas except when you need to slow down to stop. Or set the paddle level to the lowest level. That way you could coast for a second or two at the time without losing too much speed. I haven't played around with it yet. Depending on whether you are driving in D mode or B mode there would be different ways to drive it.

      1) I believe so, yes. I couldn't find definitive proof, but this video demonstrates it on another Honda hybrid: ruclips.net/video/1fcLqR0DSAs/видео.htmlsi=KFYfl8sAU3Hbo0KG 2)The gas mileage greatly depends on your driving style. Generally speaking, in B mode, the hybrid system should be able to capture a tiny bit more regen than in drive and, as a result, be a touch more efficient. But it's not a big difference one way or the other.

  • @Andrew54123
    @Andrew54123 Год назад +3

    Is it more efficient then to just use B mode while doing city driving, since you won’t be using cruise control anyways?

    • @viewsonvehicles
      @viewsonvehicles  Год назад

      It's probably a bit more efficient, yes, because more battery regen occurs the moment you lift off the throttle, as opposed to waiting to your foot to apply brake. Those few hundred milliseconds actually add up to a lot.

    I thought my transmission was bad. Good to know the car is braking in its own. I have a 2018 accord btw. Any way to turn it off? Intel it makes the ride less smooth.

    • @viewsonvehicles
      @viewsonvehicles  11 месяцев назад +1

      There is not a way to turn it off that I am aware of. But I also do not think it hurts the ride in anyway. I hope that helps.

  • @DStripeM

    It's normal for the cruise controle since the B regen is made in the same process as cruise.

      First month I drove 2000 km driven on B mode. But darn I used to burned between 400 to 550 on gas, on the crv hybrid $250 I've for 2000km. Am happy with it, just don't know anything about cars 😅

    • @viewsonvehicles
      @viewsonvehicles  7 месяцев назад

      As I understand it, it's totally fine to drive in B on a regular basis. I do not see any reason why not. But, just in case, it's worth looking in the owner's manual, just in case it includes any warnings.

    i've tried regen braking but the car does not come to a complete stop, is there a way to do that? and do brake lights turn on when using? sorry if they're silly questions I am super new to this.

    • @viewsonvehicles
      @viewsonvehicles  Год назад

      I do not believe so, no. Honda wants you to still use the brake once you get below 5 mph. I wish it came to a complete stop as well.

      Driver awareness. If you’re crossing lines on either side of your lane or not reacting to turns very well (as a result of distractions), it will turn red and tell you that you should pull over and take a break from driving.

      And also, when I press the left-hand paddle, do I have hit the right-hand paddled to bring it back to normal, or does hitting the accelerator reset everything back to normal?

    • @viewsonvehicles

      @@yukidear8424 yes, you can shift between B and D while driving. And yes, when you’re in B mode it stays at the same level unless you use the right hand paddle. When you’re in D, yes, it resets once you accelerate. Hope that helps.
