- The Honda two-motor hybrid system is an innovative solution to the need for low-emissions and high fuel economy that doesn’t compromise packaging or performance.
Making its U.S. debut in the 2014 Accord Hybrid, the Honda two-motor hybrid system is currently available in the 2022 CR-V Hybrid and 2022 Accord Hybrid.
Fourth-generation of the Honda two-motor hybrid system debuts in the all-new 2023 Honda CR-V Sport and Sport Touring
Honda has sold about 300,000 cars and SUVs in the U.S. powered by the two-motor hybrid system.

Very little info in this music video.
Why mess with the rpm just to create fake shift noise? The battery needs a steady flow of energy and if you didnt fuck with rpm to make a car that we all know doesn't have a real transmission sound shifty then it might actually function better and use less gas.
Probably tested it and people didn’t like it. I don’t know this for sure but I can certainly surmise that the simulated shifting wasn’t implemented for no reason. Ultimately, I agree with you, maximizing efficiency is the way to go.
Honda the power of dreams❤❤❤
My biggest question to all hybrid makers is: why can't you just put that electric motor at the rear and make it all wheel drive or a rear wheel biased car instead of cramming everything at the front?
Hello Sir, I have few questions please!
I Imported a HONDA FIT 2020 EHEV HYBRID with a milage of 76,000 km from Japan.
I wanted to change the Gear Oil fluid, but am confused about multiple things;
- Which gear oil to use? HCF2 OR ATF DW1
- Are there any filters inside its gear which need to be cleaned or replaced by opening the chamber , or is its just drain and Refill?
- Beside Engine oil, gear oil, brake oil, coolant, is there any other fluid/oil which need to be replaced after specific millage?
Thanks in Advance Sir!
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video presentation
Can the ICE and the electric motor both drive the car at the same time? So both contribute to HP.
Wow, I feel like I know less than before
Seriously. I didn't think that's possible. Like exceeding the speed of light. But here we are.
I have one of these. I didn’t know about the GPS thing
If Honda is reading this
please get rid of the 4 wheels drive using axel
put electric motor in the back wheels to help pushing the CRV
and put in at least 20kw/h batteries so it can give you a good range of distance on ev mode
on highway, drive it with K20 engine
and please no pump in audio
3:09 sounds like an N64 game...
I have a CRV hybrid and you’re so right. Sport mode is awful sounding🤣
I like the car and the egineering but unfortunately these cars with their GDI is ruining all these cars with carbon buildup and oil dilution to varying extents. Frequent oil changes and Gasoline additives help before you need valve Walnut blasting inside the intake manifold.
Everything is great except for the fake noise, still I will test drive it for sure
Imo the sound is very good! The sounds shown in the video don’t justify how it actually sounds, search up Honda civic hybrid and listen to the engine “gear change”. It sounds pretty good compared to this video and it sounds much better then most CVT engines sold today. (Toyota, Subaru, Kia etc)
It sounds like heaven rolling down the road. Like a choir of angels
@@Waxxumushahaha I drove up to my brothers the other day in my new 2022 hybrid camery and he was in the garage and came out and said what’s that angelic sound lol then said it sound like they are trying to call blind people to the car with the sounds of god lmao
Nice awesome concept hybrid ev drive vehicle's like love to own
I hate to break it to them, but the 4cyl ICE is Anything but quiet. I have the 24 CR-V and everytime the ICE kicks in, it sounds like a damn 7.3 Cummins
I have a 24 accord hybrid. When the engine kicks on it sounds like a lawn mower especially at high rpm lol
My 24 CRV is very quite . I have the touring trim , I believe that trim has more sound deading
Didn't explain things much. Unlike Toyota, Honda doesn't seem to want to explain things much.
The explanation would make you think twice as the disconnect between the petrol engine and electric motor until 45 mph is quite perplexing.
Toyota/Lexus do it much better.
Just give me a k20....
what model # is this one
How much ps?
when the motor kicks in 😂😂😂😂
Can someone tell me does e:HEV contain turbo?
Turbo no, but hybrid earth dreams, yes
NICE CAR
Contentless advertorial. How does the hybrid drivetrain work? Why two engines? How long does it go pure EV?
Showing a station wagon edition? Interesting...
Ill stay w my ima
it is an EV with a gasoline range extender......I do not know why they put the clutch for towing......more complex
hey there should be no going up and down through the rpms at 3:05 we talkin about a cvt transmission!
They fake the sound for some reason so people think it's doing it
No CVT in this transmission. It has sort of two gears!
First gear is virtual through the electric motors and at 45 mph a clutch engages to connect the petrol engine to the wheels.
@@fivish The petrol engine is eCVT
A better name, one that far more people will understand, is "virtual CVT." There are no gears changing. When it is
acting as" a CVT, the engine (well, this is the 2018-2022, and there have been small changes) is running at 2000 rpm and 34 HP. It is not connected to the wheels, it drives only a generator. The car is operating as an EV riven by that generator, not a battery, at whatever speed your want. So you can calculate a "virtual gear ratio," but it is a meaningless number.
What I gather is this. Under lighter loads it's basically an EV whose battery is charge the gas engine. Under heavy loads its basically a gas powered car with battery EV supplemented torque fill ?
Close, but you make a common mistake. The generator's electricity goes to the motor first, with only the excess used to charge the battery. So, under lighter loads it *_is_* an EV, just not a *_Battery_* EV. It is a *_Battery_* and *_Generator_* EV.
(The difference is that there are losses when you charge and discharge the battery, that the actual process skips for most of the power.)
@@jeffjo8732 Thank you.
The engine charges the battery and the battery drives the wheels until 45 mph when a clutch engages to drive the wheels directly from the engine. What!!!
What with his voice? Sore throat?
This advert is all about emotion rather than explanation.
My guess is that is an Asian language speaker that has learned the English pronunciation really well but it’s still a little uncanny.
So from what I gather it's the same system as in the Toyota hybrid? Also the sport engine noise is horrible.
Nothing like the Toyota hybrid.
Basically a Honda ad.
It's like an electric car that you still have to pay servicing costs for?
I see 2023 Accord EX-L hybrid has a drive belt while looking under the hood, what is that drive belt for?
The Toyota hybrids have no drive belts.
Most likely an accessory belt.
You sure you have a hybrid ?
@@kenj.8897 Yes i have a 2019 Avalon hybrid with no belts
@@scott8919 okay, a acessory belt for what.? maybe a water pump belt????
Doesn't explain much of anything. Its an ad.
Waste of time, and annoyingly loud noise over an annoying voice.
sweet, fake engine sounds. I've always wanted to not be able hear if my car is broken.
This tells me nothing
