I’m so glad I got the F out of trucking after my 23 year run
31 years here, doing contract work for another railroad
@@kingjehukhan8541
I’m a trash man now
Recession proof
in your opinion, what's the best/most profitable sector/niche in trucking right now??
@ssingh8166 if you don't know that basic stuff you won't make it.get a real job and stop pipe dreaming. Stop voting biden too.
Good you old fucks giv is a bad name all beat up dirty uses and abused by the road all they do is complain but never owned they own rig nothing just compwny drivers
Then how does the government keep pushing that the economy is booming when all these trucking companies keep going out of business
There’s a lot of volume but capacity is still too high. The companies that are surviving with these rates are the single owner operators. Big companies have too much overhead to cover the small profits . Insurance just went up too.
Democrats lie,always.
The government is lying. Railroads are laying off and trucking is receding. The government has been masking recession with deficit spending - its fake.
Peeing on our heads and calling it rain
Hmmm
I mention the government is lying and got censored. Love truth social
Damn it man it's getting crazy
agreed
Become a millionaire
Everything in trucking is going down the tubes… Limited cheap freight in a lot of places, parts prices through the roof, shop rates over $200 an hour, insurance costs skyrocketing, brokers taking too much, migrant under cutting American truckers, no parking, DOT & police harassment of truck drivers, and restaurants few and far. Doesn’t look good fellas…..
I haul cows and the freight rates are a little soft. Mascaro trucks are rate cutting for loads.
I am so tired of hearing “ NO PARKING” old truck driver’s could have told u this YEARS AGO!!! filthy drivers, who piss and shit in the parking lot, everyone wanting to drive only in DAYTIME hours!! Well guess what??
Hey don't forget the towing rates coupled by unreliable trucks that regen, and reduce speed @ the worst times.
Just look at all the small towing companies that are now big towing companies now.
Wait till the 2012-2024's are 25 years old and worthless!
Won't have a big used market then.
I thought their was a Trucker shortage? I'm confused😂
There was never a shortage!!!!!!
Companies don’t respect the people employed!!!!
@@MrSip4life some cant be helped let it go
There's a $400. a week driver shortage!
Tant no driver shortage, it's a low paid driver shortage!
Nothing new bout that.
That was true 5 years ago 😂 where have you been living until now
I don’t understand how the US unemployment rate is 3.8%? With all the job layoffs with all these trucking companies and even Tesla. It doesn’t add up? 😮
yes seems kinda fishy that everything is so great but the company I work for is shedding runs and other jobs but stop noticing. Everything is fine.
seems kinda fishy to me. even the company I work for is shedding jobs in many areas and that's bad news. But everything is great. Stop noticing
Democrat lies of course
Any government statistics you hear are lies to fit their game plan. They want all employees to make $ 15 an hour and they will keep everyone broke.
Cooking the books. Fired from a Full time job & get 2 part time jobs. Looks good on paper.
Raven got crushed after those tornadoes hit Albany Ga and destroys a lot of their trailers. They couldn’t get the insurance to cover them I think. They lost their main accounts with P&G and Miller Brewing in Albany to JTruckingCompany in Albany. The Albany freight got them up into Ohio and Pennsylvania but those died and they closed the Ohio and NC yards to stay near FL for the rail yard. Their OTR fleet is a ghost of what it was and the dedicated was going back and forth to Atlanta from Albany. It was a good company to work for but the original owner sold it and Grupo Mexico bought it and killed it.
Wow! I was just about to mention their miller account, but I had no idea that it had stopped before this.
Facts
😢P&g did rebound, Groupon Mexico did not want the equipment that's why everything was shutdown , started getting rid of overhead , selling equipment and downsizing. Raven was told a year ago if they did not start showing a profit they wouldbe shut down. It hard to show a profit if no one out looking or getting for new customers. Brokage companies are killing trucking companies they take a large percentage of load and leave little to the truckers and companies, owner operators just end paying the truck and not profit from loads
Been stuck this week twice for 30 hours waiting for reloads. Flatbed
Where at, what lanes?
Livestock is the same right now. Sitting a day or two waiting for loads. I think its industry wide. Everyone Sitting. No matter what you haul.
Another one bites the dust! Who's next? 😮😮😮
Titanium
Great interview! Love seeing next generation passion for building out the truck!
Damn, they’re dropping like flies.
2008 all over again.
I'm tellin you we'll all be driving for Swift, Schneider and JB Hunt pretty soon 😁
33 years last 15 as a independent owner operator with my own authority. Hanging on by my fingertips. Have a pending offer on my trailer. Truck is paid for . Could be my last week if it sells . Then i might do a power only until the truck sells. Then unfortunately the house will go next .
Wait the start of summer higher gas prices
I work at Raven and its all over with.
I’m sorry man. My dad worked for Raven back in the 90’s. I used to ride with him. Fun times
@@leir2005 Found out while on the crapper .
Raven Transport holding was bought by Florida East Coast Rail and Groupo Mexico bought FEC and Raven Transport was part of the package. Groupon Mexico investors decided to down size Raven closing terminals getting rid of trucks and tailors. They started shutdown lanes that were not showing a profit. Now decided to shutdown Raven Transport Holdings because it was not showing a profit for the elgroupo Mexico investors.
Raven transport never gave me a job and always rejected my applications for employment
Arnold transportation services out paire view TX just shut down.
I thought they sold out to Hearland Express years ago?
Raven is owned by Florida East Coast Railroad Interstate out of Seattle WA sold to Heartland
Heartland also owns CFI ,Millis transfer and Smith transport
They acquired Raven in early 2000 when I drove for Heartland.
@@user-to9em9ii2xwait what? When did this happen? I was thinking about working for Smith transport. I refuse to work for heartland cuz they pay their workers s***** as heck?
Gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets any better!
I bet all these ceo s shutting down are hella rich and set for life…..
More truckstop spots open.
I’ve seen more open spots
I will pray for the truckers who lost their job that they find a new job real soon I will pray for all truckers on the roads to be safe so they can go home to their family and love ones may God bless all truckers thank you all truckers keep the human race alive
The dominoes continue to fall.
Unless a business is run efficiently with the rates the way they are companies will continue to go under. It takes all you got to stay above water. So all these poorly run businesses. They have two ends bankruptcy or bought out
Agreed
Who is going to buy them out. Yes they can sell of equipment that's it.
What you just described is happening and it makes no sense for these companies to be in business like that
Mother trucker I always appreciate your informations. Thank you sir
Another one bits the dust! Must be the contract freight rates. Even Knight is suffering from lower contracts rates. Lots of carriers are going to the spot market. Which are already low.
Yall should find companies that have their own loads
If both otr and dedicated are gone whats left?
That kid is cool 😎. Killer truck.
I’m honestly surprised that more companies haven’t phased out OTR operations and move to a relay network.
Trucking going to be crazy good in couple years. Hopefully owner operator can get some of it. This game is all about low debt
Alex!!! The dumpster fire continues.....
I wonder how long it will be before used trucks will just be given away.
How do i send a video to you to post?
No trucker shortage just ah money shortage companies going belly up. They need to make trucking great again paper logs lot lizards and no government oversight wild Wild West days
I never see the lizards 🦎 around anymore, at least where I happen to be 😂
More work for owner operators that have their truck paid for
Every day another one bites the dust.
I feel like all of these companies are closing down to plan out a monopoly system… they will all joint together to make one huge company to provide contracts for every driver.. basically trying to pay everyone the same rate because there is just too much competition unfortunately..
Well, if you got it and you're looking for a truck the auctions gonna have alot
It’s Joever
If this keeps going rates may go back up
Everybody be an independent owner and create a National Union.
Change the whole game.

50/50 split fuel surcharge shared.
Owner operators carry all coverage freight insurance.
No more brokers, sorry, End of Era.
It’s kind of funny as Aurora announced it is taking drivers out of its autonomous trucks. The future is AI just a matter of time to replace all drivers in the industry.
This is why I chose to be an owner operator for Swift. I knew the market would be tough, but I know Swift will never go out of business.
Don't be that guy, rearranging the deck chairs while the Titanic sinks. Always have plan b, or even c. You don't know who's swimming naked until the tide goes out.
I dunno man I was company at swift up until last year. They were really struggling to keep OOs loaded. Also I heard they didn't order any new lease trucks last year.
But you will.
Owner op or lease op.just saying
@@ceelos69 bankruptcy coming either way
These companies are making way for drivers from Mexico to take over for a cheaper price!
Unfortunately all these layoffs are good news for the rebounding of freight rates
Lets Go Brandon !!
All these drivers getting let go is scary. Im glad i put $500 of my paychecks in savings. If i get let go, I'll have enough to do a new career
You are one of the smarter ones
Some of these states don't have gud unemployment u gotta watch what state ur working outta when ur otr and some states unemployment is low i know maryland unemployment is 46% maryland disability is 64% and Iowa disability is 46% of what u made but Texas doesn't require employers to have disability insurance u gotta watch what you are too 1099 sucks 😂
If you getting laid off on a 1099, then you weren't classified properly.
This makes me smile
It's FEC that's Killing Raven
Which is a good otr company?
None!
All the big companies are going to screw you til you quit. Go to welding school if you are able to work.
US Express was good when i was there years ago
im thinking of going back myself
Walmart, UPS, Old Domiom, or a private fleet
None the idea was to replace them with railroads.
As I've mentioned, many more will shut down. The cost to do business and the ever changing market conditions will worsen as 2024 continues. I've had an inside tract to this market, and we are far from the bottom of the market.
Good another flip flop fail
BIDENOMICS
Need a diaphragm pump?
I farted
I sharted 💩😂
I shart3d 💩 😂
Living in a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC you know what I'm about to say is covered by the UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION: The Supreme Law of the Land !!
Permanent ? Usually when they tell you it's temporary it's permanent; permanent it's temporary !!
Time we get done there will no trucks driving and delivering our communities this stuff need to STOP and all of this is the fault of one man and he is in DC
Cities love to vote on laws that effect others, without any thoughts to others. Cities need vast resources, but are the first to cut water off to farms. Shutting down farms is not an issue either. One day you city folks are going to go without. Your idea about electric autos is a joke also.
This guy likes to stress people out while he sits down and runs his mouth
More Bidenomics😂🎉
Every driver should be sure to thank Trump and the USMCA ! Way to protect American truckers and jobs, Donnie!
Yeah blame the guy that’s been out of office for like 3 going on 4 years lol 😂 your a joke
@yyuguy Hey, dipshit, he takes credit for it and brags about it, so yes, I WILL blame the orange LIAR, FRAUD, dictator wannabe and TRAITOR!
I blame Obama.
@teamdada2194 Blame Obama all you want! The USMCA was negotiated and signed by Trump! It has flooded our roads and freight market with Canadian and Mexican trucks causing the rate collapse! Facts Matter!
Hmm, the trucking industry seemed to be running well until Biden got into office
