New G30 LCI rear lights look so amazing, but just replacing the lights will be not enough. In addition you need to perform coding and some times even the programming of your BMW. See current video to see the full process what changes from software perspective has to be done for rear LCI lights to work perfectly. In addition to software modification rewiring of the pins is required for lights to work correctly. Process is straight forward, no rocket science needed. But there are couple things you have to know ahead to succeed.

It’s not hard for me.
Creating subs takes a lot of time. But once they are done, it’s peace of cake to add as many languages as needed. RUclips has that kind built in option.

Hi Bimmerdoc, you told in one of your former Videos that it is easy possible to upgrade the regular transmission (205) into the sports transmission (2TB). I would appreciate when you can show it us in your further videos. I have still a lot respect to doing it by my self without any help. I am driving a 12/2017 BMW G30.

Yes it’s easily doable via VO coding
You need to VO code, replace 205 with 2TB, and then with that just code a few modules, the modules are EGS and some others i forgot, check online.

Your approach should be a bit different.
Because you already have LCI you have to play with typschussel to code lights to EU specs.
Not so straight forward but doable.

Thanks for this very clear tutorial. I bought the original taillights but without those wires and pins. Please give me a link where I can see exactly which pins they are. I want to do the retrofit and I can't figure out which pins to buy or which socket to remove those four pins, which I need to use for the wires for the retrofit. Thank you!

Hi @BimmerDoc my G31 is a very early model (March 2017) but was updated to 2022-07 as part of the EGR recall in the UK. Will this have updated my BDC and if not, can you please show us how to do that? Many, many thanks for this awesome tutorial

I've installed the lights on my G31 and coded them as per your instructions., including the 2 cables to the front and changed the pins as per the BMW fitting instructions. The lights work and are flicker free, however I have only one fog light (right) and when it is switched on, the two inner brake lights don't work. Is this correct and if not, can you suggest what coding I need to alter, please?

So I watched your new video about updating the software with E-Sys and I will need to update my BDC for the retrofit to work. One last question i have tho is, will it be enough to get the lights running if I only update the BDC_GW, BDC_Body and the other prerequisites listed under the BDC Tal? Or do I need to update the whole car? Thank you!
I always recommend to update the whole car so istep will be the same across the platform.

Does this work with F generation as well? I did the retrofit on my pre LCI F22 M240i a couple of years ago and FDL coded the REM, but ISTA shows 80408F Encoding: Lamp mapping failed with LH/RH tail light 2 defective (804884/804886).
I have amended my FA offline adding HELC HO-Wort value and calculating FA completes successfully so E-Sys seems to understand what coding is required. I don't have BDC Body so would I just need to code REM instead?
I also have a set of B16 coilovers to install but ordered the car with EDC so need to FA code out 2VF to disable it but will email you separately for a couple of questions on that.

@@BimDoc I finally got round to coding this after VO coding my EDC shocks with passive coilovers and interestingly, after coding the REM, I got both brake lights failing and throwing error codes. Clearing the codes and pressing the brake peddle illuminated the brake lights once but then error on the dash and codes in the ECUs. I had to FDL code the individual brake light mappings as per the sheet sheets and forums and errors gone and brake lights working. Any idea or comment why this hasn't properly coded the FDL file correctly for the retrofit code? As I still get a coding mismatch error code for the taillights.

Hello BimmerDoc. I did all the steps you showed but unfortunately my BDC is not at the needed I-Level. Now my question is, can I update it through E-Sys with an ENET Cable? Do I need to upgrade all the ECU's or just the BDC is enough? Thank you for the help!

Лучше обновлять авто целиком. Так как иначе могут быть конфликты

I have an 2018 ISTEP version S15A-18-07-547. Can i still code in the lights manually, or do i need to upgrade all modules to latest ISTEP Version @ BMW?
On current SW level you won’t have all needed parameters for coding.
So software update is mandatory in your case.

I’ve got a G31 / 2018 and now the DDE safety recall is complete by BMW (upgrade to latest I-step), I want to code the car to display tyre temperatures, change to bowers & wilks dsp instead of logic 7 surround, and set the car to default start with adaptive drive rather than comfort mode (I already have factory 2VA).
I’m not confident because when I read VO/FA and the NBT_HU cafd into e-says (using token master 2.8.2 and e-sys 3.35.3) there is reference to “truncated” content which makes me worried that when I code the car with changed cafd I might write back to the car truncated content and destroy it. Is my fear correct? Perhaps you might cover such content in one of your excellent videos? 😊
Answer is very simple: launcher version 2.8 is too old to properly work with G series.
Use version 5.x or equivalent

I have installed and coded everything and it works on g31. Only problem I have is that the taillights are not ALWAYS on even in daylight auto mode, how can I fix that?
G30/31 do not support rear DRL

Hello, when we do g30 tail lamp lci retrofit, is it absolutely impossible to do daytime driving lights with the current technology? I wonder if it's impossible through any wiring work. I don't think it's possible in Korea, but I'm asking because this company seems to be a technologically excellent company as well as a mgu retrofit

Биммер,привет!Подскажи пожалуйста, у меня 630d стоит предпусковой подогреватель двигателя, есть DisplayKey и есть функция "Автономная система вентиляции/отопления".В руководстве написано ,что система использует имеющееся остаточное тепло двигателя,но видимо при достижении определённой температуры(улицы/салона?) забор воздуха с улицы закрывается и тепло от двигателя уже в салон не поступает(имею в виду если утром прогреть двигатель Вебастой,при включении с ключа функции Автономная система вентиляции/отопления ).Так как ты самый лучший в вопросе кодировок,подскажи,можно ли как то закодировать эти заслонки,чтобы они не закрывались?Буду благодарен за ответ.
Автономный отопитель двигатель не греет. Только салон!
Это не решается чисто кодированием.
@@BimDoc Я наверное не так объяснил. У меня стоит предпусковой подогреватель двигателя Webasto(не штатный),штатного подогревателя салона нет. Заметил что когда машина не до конца остыла, при включении "Автономная система вентиляции/отопления" с ключа,салон начинает прогреваться(в руководстве это и написано "система использует имеющееся остаточное тепло двигателя").Но утром после ночной стоянки в мороз,при прогревании двигателя Webasto,в салон тёплый воздух не идёт,только после того как включишь двигатель.

Those are not included in the kit by default.
You can buy those pins separately or sometimes they are sold already clamped to a small piece of wire.

Здравствуй Володя! Подскажи пж такой вопрос подготовился к зиме поставил новое эбу свечей Beru , а свечи denso думал все норм будет короче в мороз индикатор накала не загорается на панеле, что делать?бмв ф10n57
Если ISTA+ ошибок не выдаёт и запуск двс проходит через успешно, то все работает )
индиктор накала может кратковременно включится при температурах ниже -10 гр
Добрый день столкнулся с проблемой на g30 может знаете и подскажите , сенсор работает а на экране климата рябь вместо цифр и прочего , так стало после мойки ,если получиться скину видео
Повреждение из-за воды.
Либо замена экрана в панели либо замена самой панели климата

Very good Video! i have an G30 05/2017 and i bought the LCI Taillights from Bmw. They sent me 4 Crimpcontacts and a thin grey wire. How can i update my BDC? And if i update this my Software Tuning will be erased? Should i flash it to stock before i start this whole installation? greetings
If you update only BDC then Chiptuning will not be erased.

Всем привет. Нужна помощь. У знакомого М5 f90. Пытаюсь биммеркодом отключить или сделать память на старт стоп и ничего не получается( Вернее в блоки все прописывается, что память актив и функция старт стоп нот актив, а когда машину открываешь и заводишь все равно старт стоп активен. Только в режиме М1 и М2 старт стоп отключается, но это уже через меню самой машины. Может подскажет кто нибудь что нибудь?
Where are you getting the official retrofit documents?
It is possible to find those in official AOS portal for dealers. But not all of those.
It depends on your access level to official bmw documentation.
So best bet is to use google and see if someone has published smth for public use.

Привет, у меня возникла проблема после установки на LCI всё было нормально. Потом выскачила ошибка задний левый сигнал тормоза. Посмотрел, да не работает. Искали ошибку через ista чтоб исправить, но ни чего сделать не смогли. Хочу проверить предохранители, но инфу где именно они находятся найти не могу. Если ты знаешь то можешь подсказать пожалуйста где их искать
Эти стопы напрямую запитаны с BDC без предохранителей.
Если не провели проводку как положено до самого BDC а запитали просто от соседнего стопа то большой шанс что можно поздравить с заменой BDC.
@@BimDoc фонарь перестал гореть, но ни какой ошибки не было пока знакомый не сказал, программист лазил потом выскочила ошибка. Стоп-сигнал не горит а в BDC нет ошибки.
Если не секрет, сколько часов потребовалось на всю работу?
Трудно оценить время работы когда снимаешь видео.
Мануал говорит что норматив 2,5 часа.
Если делать не первый раз то более менее реально. А так я бы запас часа 3-4

Было бы всё так просто если бы не пару но, если вас были какие-то дооснащения то кодировка bdc удалит все ваши кодировки которые были сделаны ранее это первый косяк, теперь как сказал наш бимер что нужно запрограмировать bdc по итогу получаем не работающие асистенты или глюки или горящий значек ручник на приборке, а все за того что g серия очень чувствительная к уровням ПО блоков, и третий косяк при такой кодировкой бывает залипает левый стоп сигнал(постоянно горит) на которой бмв придумали херовину которая в розрез розьема стопа ставится ) и вроде как пофиксили этот прикол на версии 21.03 но глюки бывают, и 4 косяк если машина с Америка то для неё такое дооснащения будет геморным так как на Америке HELC не работает, и нужно менять признак на Европу а конечным результатом будут не работающие асистенты! Так вот перед тем как самим лезть в дооснащения подумайте стоил ли самому туда лезть или отдать профи
Дооснащения это всегда не просто! Там действительно есть много нюансов. Беретесь за дело, будьте готовы к сюрпризам!
Да ладно😀 Главное желание, цель и мотивация. Я тоже ни хрена не понимал, за 2 месяца сломал себе мозг. Могу теперь делать с кодировками такое, что у профи глаза на лоб лезут

Док, у меня на F25 2015 года , американка фонари задние не лед и у меня на багажнике вообще не говрят фонари только задний ход, какие кодировки нужны чтобы они при включеном свете тоже горели как у тебя в этом видео ?
Если меняли фонари с сша на Европу то надо кодировать.
Там больше чем один параметр. По удаленке решается.
@@BimDoc не не меняли, америка так и осталось, сам закодировал диодные лампочки впереди и поворотники сзади, а вот те что на багажнике не где не смог найти кодировки и решения нЭту :( чтобы они горели при ДХО, есть какие-то решения по FEM а у меня стоят FRM модуль и там таких кодировок нет какие предлагаются 🤷

If you update the software, you don't need to start the engine, just ignite the power and connect the external power supply? 😅
The operation I’ve described is a coding. And it can be done with engine ON.
SW update is another procedure. It requires additional power supply.
If it's just a software update first, I don't need to start the engine
