Fantastic fun video and great personal backstory. My godfather's son (who I saw infrequently) had a '71 Torino with a 351C and a Hurst 4-speed. I was 13, he was probably 26. He gave me a ride in it, tires smoking and sideways as he made a left hand turn/merge onto a 55 mile an hour road. Made me a car fan for life! By the way, I could feel the cold watching y'all work.

NOT a 429 cobra jet,the CJ and SCJ have finned aluminum valve covers and D00E-R heads. The intake in the CJ is a spread bore with a GM carb while the SCJ is a square bore with a Holley carb. That appears to be a regular 429 with a Ford 4300 (junk) they run much better with an earlier 4100 or even a 2100 like the 1970 429 2V. The 429 "Thunderjet" is the basic 429 that was in the thunderbirds from 68-71 with the high compression heads.
