It was the soundtrack to the film 'Mannequin' (1987) about a guy who falls in love with a shop mannequin. It starred Kim Catrall (later seen as Samantha in Sex & the City), and Andrew McCarthy. The two Starship members essentially did a parallel to the story, in this video. While the song sounds very dated now, it's still a great song and a real classic from that time. The film itself, although successful - wasn't really huge; but this song was....both in America and internationally. Think it was the second biggest selling single of 1987.
Every single celebrity in the 80s and 90s had their own unique style and voice. Starship, wet wet wet, simple minds and tears for fears are just a few of my favourites.
Hi! I love '80s music! Your hair is lovely the way it is!❤🥰 No need to change it! In the '60s, this band was known as Jefferson Airplane & played a different kind of music: psychedelic rock. In the '70s they changed their name to Jefferson Starship & changed their style of music. In the '80s, they changed their name to Starship
The 80's was the greatest music decade! Then 84, 85, and 86 was our favorite! My wife and I married in 1984! It was an awesome decade to be a young adult. Great times. We have been married 40 years now, are more in love than ever. This music is played during our "over the road tours" around the US. We have 7 adult children and 5 grandchildren spread out around the country. Our primary residence is in Eastern Long Island, and have secondary residence in Naples Fla. So, we tour across the country in our plush touring bus. The custom AV system is crazy and makes cruising over the road like being at a concert. My wife gets the design credit. It's so wonderful when we can schedule some touring time. It's so nice to have us time. We love being together. We try to get to as many of the kids as possible on a tour. We also tow our enclosed car trailer, so we can either take my wife's 2022 C8 Corvette, or 2021 Ferrari F488 Spider on the journey! Just two of many toys in our garages. We are truly living the American Dream!!! While living our blessed life now!
This video is from the film Mannequin About a woman from the ancient Egypt who has to be a mannequin until somebody loves her.

The scenes are from _Mannequin_ from 1987 with Kim Cattrall and Andrew McCarthy, a classic comedy from the late '80s. 4:10 What defines this fashion is that it is extravagant. 😂
5:45.....Yes...back in the 80's, YOU'RE. RIGHT IRINA....Every song back then, All singers had TALENT. (Not so much the past few years) and back then, that was NORMAL, talent required.
Curitiba/Brasil
Great reaction Irina to an interesting choice. The band Starship was originally called Jefferson Starship and dates back to the 1960’s. The Mannequin was actress Kim Cattral more famous for the TV series Sex and The City. I believe the word you were looking for concerning fashion is cyclical. That is it comes back around to itself like a wheel. Loved to see your smile while enjoying the song! As far as singing talent vs looks that all started when music videos and MTV first came out. In fact the first music video on MTV was titled “Video Killed the Radio Star” by the group called The Buggles ( link here to Official Video: ruclips.net/video/W8r-tXRLazs/видео.htmlsi=uQRX8Gh2pRkvrfoq ). Before the internet or MTV people heard the song on the radio or played the recording with little idea what the band looked like unless you saw them live in concert. Kudos to your mom if she exposed you to 1980’s music and fashion! Хорошо. Спасибо большое.
Love your channel. You're so young. We were under a brainwash here in America, life was amazing but not so much now We still have music as I drive truck around this beautiful country I always wondered what it would be to drive Russia
I enjoy your reaction to our music of the past. You are a breath of fresh air.. If I may suggest... "Sultans of Swing " by Dire Straits And Against all Odds... by Phil Collins All the best from Thailand...
In case of talent I would say with social media it's easier today to get uncovered as a talent. You need a lots of luck back those days to get uncovered.
You should listen to the song 'Miracles'. The psychedelic "White Rabbit" is a classic. The '60's and '70's has been voted the best music ever by Rolling Stone's readers. Record sales also prove it.
This was the theme song from the movie Mannequin, and the scenes from the movie are in the video. Next you should try "Surrender To Me" by Ann Wilson and Robin Zander, theme song from the movie Tequila Sunrise.
I loved your reaction.AGAIN. And I also loved Montana's reaction at the end of the song.❤😅. Can you please react to any song from THE WARNING? They are a great rock band from Monterrey Mexico. 3 sisters with so much talent they will blow your mind. Thank you Irina.🤍💙❤.
ICYMI : there's a canine pneumonia-producing respiratory virus going around. Bull dog species seem to be particularly susceptible, as they are to breathing problems in general. Say hi to Monty for me.
I know some, or even many, didn't like the Mannequin movie, but I did, and still do. The sequel isn't as good, though, but still okay. The guy with the weird glasses was playing the stereotypical gay character from back then. Probably considered an offensive stereotype, these days.
Please, for the love of God, don't try to imitate the 80's hairstyles. Just don't. I would recommend some Def Leppard if you haven't already checked them out.

How are you Irina?😍😘
Autotune killed off real music, commercially.
You looking like a doll ❤️❤️❤️
In the 80's to me everyone had their own unique voice and style. Now everyone sounds the same...
true that
The video is actually film clips from the movie "Mannequin", which used this song. :)
Very good movie 📽️
I grew up in the 80's and it was a great time! There was so much you didn't have to worry about like you do now!
Ohh I can imagine. I was born in 1990 so I just missed it! But I think even the 90s was an easier time than it is now.
From the the mid 1960's through mid 1980's were like that. But today, forget it.

Great song choice Irina! I loved it when Montana looked into the camera at the end of the song.
This is a good group, every song they make sounds awesome!

I have no idea that song was from the 80's and it was lovely song. I can't help but smile ☺ ❤
That is because Back that every song had its own personality back than it was unique in each way unlike today

this song is cult from 1987 top song which has 500 million views on youtube to this day cool...
They started as jefferson Airplane (Grace SlickWhite Rabbit & Someone to love ) around the time of Woodstock in which they played!!
"when I look at my hair, I don't know how to get this effect"
Lots of hair spray. :)
This is also the soundtrack of the film "The Manequin" starring Kim Cartral, back in the 1984. The scenes in the video-clip derive from the film.
I think it was part of the soundtrack for a movie called Mannequin.
It's Kim Cattrall, as the mannequin.
Love love love Starship! Amazing track. You need to listen to Starship - Sara. I'm a massive 80s fan. BEST DECADE OF MUSIC EVER! :)

Anyone today who is famous gets it because people like them. Not because of talent
Love you're reaction

Mannequin reference was unexpected.
It was from the movie mannequin
@@adamclark9004 Even more unexpected.
Your really a doll
Cool dog!
Love your dog
Great song. Reminds me of junior high 🙈
It’s from the movie mannequin in the 80s
That's true... 80% singers today are not proffesionals, that's why music today is total disaster, in last 5 years I don't know 10 good songs😢😢😢
You should listen to the song 'Miracles'.
The psychedelic "White Rabbit" is a classic.
The '60's and '70's has been voted the best music

Viva la madre Rusia
Hollywood (the guy with glasses) is the best character of that movie
Irina ~ You should do a reaction video on the movie *Mannequin*
Ирина ~ Вы должны сделать видео с реакцией на фильм Манекен
Irina, you are correct that back in that time you needed talent to become a star. Today talent is secondary to image. It's a shame.
Starship band, look for Jefferson aeroplane, Jefferson starship, Gracie slics she is the vocal since 196O ages. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was the theme song from the movie Mannequin, and the scenes from the movie are in the video. Next you should try "Surrender To Me" by Ann Wilson and Robin Zander, theme song from the movie Tequila Sunrise.

Why is the puppy dog grumbling?
Fashion you either follow it or... YOU make fasion.
This is Fromage. Super cheezy. Had its moment but not on my playlist. It was on the Mannequin soundtrack.
Weren't you born in 2000 plus or minus 2 years?
Please, for the love of God, don't try to imitate the 80's hairstyles. Just don't. I would recommend some Def Leppard if you haven't already checked them out.
😆 She could rock out some of the hairband styles for sure but not in public. Lol
Jefferson Airplane
