Omg Classic Bikini is SUCH A GREAT name for this new division! Thank you so much both for recording this last minute podcast! Super excited about this 👀👏🏼
Am all for this for three reasons 1) can remain natty 2) save $ on suit and 3) more modesty. I’ve seen all the complaints- but these are the standard gate keeping complaints we hear every time a new category is introduced. I also would have preferred “classic bikini” but have now accepted and even come to ❤ “Fit Model”. To anyone going for it right away: ignore the detractors, girl, go get it 🔥💪!! What a great Christmas present 🎁 🤩🏆!!!
Agreed! Everyone has their opinion ESPECIALLY when anything new is added. People had the same reaction when bikini was originally added and now look at the division lol!
@ Question now is... if you are bigger and have been aiming for the current bikini look, how do you downsize but not lose tone in the muscles? Would love to get your take on that 🤔
I'm definitely looking at doing fit model next year especially as a natural athlete that has a hard time putting on and keeping up the muscle for bikini. Having videos like these to reference and go over as I look at what coaching I'll need etc is super valuable! Appreciate you guys! Lexie- I'll have to pick your brain a bit ☺️
I feel like my only concern is the rule for no scrunch bottoms… I remember classic bikini from 2010 when it first came out and those bottoms are not as flattering on stage. I do wonder if that will evolve once we see it on stage a few times. But I do like the progression of natural and attainable.
@@PaulRevelia I was looking up sports models and saw ICN and they have a category with a sports bra, cheeky bottoms and white runners. I feel like that outfit would be a good look for this category. No bling. But would be a throwback to the fitness magazine look they are going for. Lots of marketing/sponsorship opportunities I would think as well.
I love the OG bikini look and I am so excited! I compete in natural organizations and I never competed with NPC because I don't have the desire to do PEDs OR the genetics to build naturally. However I've been liting for half my life, yet I still look tiny next to the Masters competitors. 2025 will be the first time I give NPC a try!
Lauren D was actually the first person I thought about because I remember she vlogged about bikini today being a bit too lean for her and she didn’t want to get bigger so I wonder if she will do this category
Things I’ve considered about competing or not…1) PEDs is a no for me, 2) cost is so much, 3) the amount of dieting/prep is seriously unhealthy especially with anyone with a propensity for ED. I would prefer a little bling in the suit tho!
So excited 🎉🎉🎉🎉 I am glad you mentioned how natural bikini is still the same criteria as bikini. This is more like classic look of 2015 🙌🏾 Also if a Bikini competitor has dabbled in anything… She can’t do the natural for like seven or 10 years so this is perfect for that reason as well So many good things about this
YES! Natural Bikini and Regular Bikini have the same criteria! Fit Model has a totally different criteria and posing "routine" and I think it will serve as a great introductory division for this sport and for those wanting to get started or those that just don't want to have to put on a ton of muscle as required by regular bikini.
This is great. Classic bikini would have been a good name . The word model suggest that one would need to be stunningly beautiful to compete? Or to be competitive?
What is considered ‘natural’. I’m on doctor prescribed hormone replacement therapy for menopause and my levels are within physiological range. Am I considered ‘natural’?
I'll have to find out about this for you guys! I expect to learn even more at the NPC Women's Workshop here in a month, so I will confirm and share what I learn on here!
I am not a fan of the labeling.... Doesn't sound body builderish. Also this is the very reason why I moved away from WBFF to IFBB as I dislike the modelish concept and now I am afraid IFBB is beginning to adopt this concept. Classic bikini would be more appropriate in my humble opinion

@ I’m just old enough to remember for people hating on figure 🤣
They should call it "Classic Bikini" but "Fit Model" is fine too. 🎉
That was my thought as well!

Perhaps to remove the stigma of the bikini division.

Do you think they will have a masters in this new division?
yes!
I take it no bling on the shoes?
I think they mentionned jewelry is ok, so I'd think shoes too? We need more details :)

For the suit they want it so athletes are able to buy the bikini off the rack/retail like Walmart
