I love the show, I just wish Season 4 was a little less rushed by the studio and they had been given a full 5 seasons to flesh out the story in a more powerful way.
im just SO glad Henry Wrinkler did not just fade into oblivion or only remembered as the Fonz. He, along with the rest of the cast set a new bar with this series, definitely.
The major parts of Henry Winkler's staying power are his talent, his work ethic, and that he never let his early fame go to his head like so many other TV stars of that era did. People have to remember that being the star of a hit network show back then was a much bigger deal than it is today.
It’s by far one of the most well crafted shows all time. Honestly! The acting, the directing choices, the sound, the filming/editing , and of course the writing!!! This show will be used for learning in drama classes for years to come!
Henry Winkler is one of the few actors who, in spite of having been in showbusiness for over five decades, is still humbled by every role he plays. I don't care for celebrity worship or culture, but I do have a huge appreciation for genuine actors who are grateful and love what they're doing.
I followed BB and BCS religiously, but I have never seen, Mr Robot, Succession or the Wire. Which one should I start first? I remember Mr Robot being.a big deal back then.
During his time as the Fonz, Henry Winkler was invited to my high school to address the students and take a tour of our classes and workshops (it was a vo-tech). He wanted to meet everyone and was so sincere and effusive that the principal didn't even flinch when he accidentally dropped an f-bomb in his speech.
SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! Loved the ending. Only the people who were fully honest with themselves survived. Sally said she'd been a bad person, Fuches said he was heartless. NoHo Hank refused to admit the truth until it was too late. Same with Barry who only decided to turn himself in after he lost his family. When Fuches saw Barry's son, he saw the young Barry he had cared for and mentored all those years ago and realized he still loved Barry. He shielded John with his own body, and then delivered him safely to Barry.
The reason Henry Winkler always looks so good even though he’s getting up there in year’s is because his heart is filled with love. He accepts love and gives it freely.
Barry stayed unpredictable to the very end... I really like the ending. Barry finally decided to redeem himself and take responsibility for his action but he was too little too late, Cousenau fell to his hubris as nobody would believe his version of events due to who he is as a person, Barry got his redemption from "God" in the form of a highly innacurate Hollywood movie and now his son will see him as hero.
but will the son see him as a hero? His mom confirmed to him that he killed people because he was a murderer not a soldier. So, it's kind of open ended as how that will play out. That was very interesting to me.
His mom didnt talk about Barry, his friend even tells us as much. He idolized his dad. Had a rockier relationship growing up with his mom. And he has to learn about Barry through the lies that tv tells. Even the parts he knows are fake are a sweet lie. In a lot of ways he will never truely know what happened to his father. Because no one who knows the truth is brave enough to say it.
@JAF729 while Sally told John that, she also described herself as a murderer too for the guy she killed. While we only see one scene between them after everything happens, their relationship appears unaffected after Sally's confession to him. Having been raised by Sally and Barry together for a while, the way he was raised he wouldn't be able to fathom his parents being evil murderers. John watching the movie at the end confirms to him what sally said about him being a murderer but also confirms that he wasn't a bad guy because the movie portrays Barry as being manipulated by Gene, which is untrue but he would never know that unless Sally told him the truth. So John having known Barry for the little time he did plus the movie portrayal of him, I think it's safe to say John sees his father in a positive light/hero
Whatever Barry had in seasons 1 + 2 was lost in 3 + 4 it went from that perfect blend of comedy and drama in the first 2 seasons to just straight-up serious drama in 3 + 4
what a finale. the show time and time again really did always do stuff I never saw coming and I loved that. Will really miss it. And all the characters. ESPECIALLY HANK! THE GREATEST MAN TO EVER LIVE!
Few days later and im still in a state of shock.. they all gave award winning worthy performances.. Henry also said in another interview he had to change underwear when he found out.😂😂
The ending was tragic, and most of all for Winkler's character. The completely unceremonial deaths of major characters. The injustice in the ending narrative. Just... Shocking. And kind of deflating.
This ending makes us think about movies that “true stories” and also history in general. How do we know what happened in the past? It’s just twisted mess written by either the victor or just misinterpretation of facts.
I was born way after Happy Days had it's run back in 87. But I caught tons of reruns. It's been very nice watching "The Fonz" grow up and mature and become such an awesome actor. He simply doesn't get enough credit.
Spoiler alert.... The show got much better, once it was clear, Barry was not a good guy. That seems like a superfluous statement, but media is littered with 100's of stories of "good guy assassins".
@@RandoLePerson being a victim doesn't absolve one of all their sins, if Barry had a sliver of selflessness he would have turned himself in, among other moments where Barry chooses things best for him and no one else

He is Still probably one of the Sexiest Men Alive to Me. Before Magazines even came out with the title. I loved him in Happy Days. I was a little Black girl admiring him ( A Crush, just as young girls have). But as I got older I followed his career and his humanity towards everyone. That is really what touched my heart about this man❤. Still Beautiful! Henry is Everything! Much Respect!
Henry Winkler is so ridiculously humble as an icon
How can u not love him ?
Barry is a masterpiece show
After seeing him as Gene, it’s so weird the actual actor be so modest lol
@@comicalcosmonaut959 But then EVERYTHING ELSE about them are exactly the same. It's like Gene is dark universe Henry Winkler
@@chrisleebowers that was corny. He's an actor it's called playing a character

Whatever you thought about the ending, i think we can all agree that Stephen Root absolutely killed it in the last episode
he stole the show in the last season along w sally amazing acting
All of them! Anthony, Sarah, Stephen, Henry, Bill...
Stephen Root makes everything better, but so does Mr. Winkler. He doesn't show up as much but he always kills it.
@@scottystcloud7086 lol yes in this case.
"Stephen Root absolutely killed it in [insert anything he does]."

Absolutely. I’ll miss it, but in a way, it’ll remain with me forever, it’s never really gone :)
Could not agree more, the ending still hits like a bag of bricks
I'm really glad to see this sentiment articulated. I couldn't agree more.

Series finale definitely was mind blowing, such a great show and ending
"Oh, wow"
Literally mind blowing
I see what you did there🤌🏼
The ending was crap.

Barry is easily the best show to ever grace television since BB/BCS

Mr Robot and Succession
Can't forget about The Wire

Just finished watching the finale. Devastating.
Wasn’t it fantastic though. The final ending scene was the perfect send off to a fantastic series.
I'll need a long time to recover after this finale. Farewell, Barry, you'll be remembered as one of the greatest TV series.

yea. when you realize what fughs really did... redemption!
But, ultimately, was at peace with the fact he was a bit of a POS. The rest of them kept trying to insist they were good people.
I am so exited for the finale and so frightened that it will end

yo i asked a medical professional and they said that's basically nonsense. sorry bro
Barry is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen
Masterpiece from start to finish. Didn’t need 8 seasons to tell the story, they kept it perfect all the way through. Such a bingeable show.

2 iconic characters in his career. 2 that couldn't be more different than each other. Quite a credit to him as an actor.
3 -- The lawyer, Barry Zuckerkorn, in 'Arrested Development'.
It is one of the greatest series finales I've had the pleasure of watching in my lifetime.

Hated for Barry to end, but at least we have the brilliant mind of Bill Hader for future series... acting or directing.
