    Nobody seems to appreciate how little guys like Stevie got to work with, and how respected and memorable these guys are to the people that paid attention.
    Stevie had a ton of talent. Wasn't a diva and showed up to work. People have remembered this guy for decades, he was that good

    It seems Dean Malenko is not great. Shane Douglas confirmed it for me when he told the “calling the hotel story” about Malenko and the radicalz.

    I always felt like a major league dumbass because I always thought Stevie Richards had that Jerry Lynn type potential to him.
    I always said if ECW continued or some of those dudes went to ROH you could have built an amazing roster around Stevie Richards, Jerry Lynn, Steve Corino, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Nova…
    Would have been fucking phenomenal, it’s the same thing I say about Harry Smith and Rene now, if you wanted to make an American King’s Road promotion with those two, Joe Doering, The Briscoes, Eddie Kingston, and Eddie Edwards suddenly you have just have a monster of a roster with the right product.

    After seeing so many wrestlers say similar things about Dean changes my opinion on the guy . I always LOVED him in the ring but hearing all this stuff is disheartening . I wouldnt have pictured him to be that way . Oh well ...is what it is .

    I was a fan of Dean Malenko in WCW, but he was a guy that never had any personality whatsoever. You'd think for a guy that was the son of a wrestler, he'd have more respect for his fellow wrestlers. Especially since in WWE he was mostly a job guy.

      Bigger mark for himself than Bret Hart, Jim Cornette, and Triple H combined. The difference is that those 3 drew more each year of their career than Dean did his entire career. All he did was inspire an entire generation of jobbers

      He was a product of his environment. His father was a legit catch wrestler, but had a gimmick. However, Boris was friends with Karl Gotch and had him around his gym a lot. Dean was influenced by Gotch's no-nonsense approach to wrestling. That's why Dean was a much better fit in Japan.

    I was in Stevie's position at work too and yeah, it sucks if you get treated like a doormat. But I sense this a lot in Stevie's interviews and podcasts - like Shawn shunned him, Malenko shunned him, Arn Anderson saying "it's only Stevie" when Masters busted him up, Noble threw him under the bus.
    Honestly, it seems to me Stevie wasn't exactly cut out for the wrestling business, or WWE and everyone in WWE clearly didn't give a fuck about him beyond just using him as a jobber/rag doll.
    If he had an issue with it, he should've left and looked for another job, honestly, because when they don't care about you to this degree - that you're treated like complete shit all the time - I think it's time to quit and look for other things in life, even if it means you lose the glamorous platform.

    Dean Malenko, what a Charisma this guy had, when somebody ask me who is his older Brother i would point at Steve Blackman, and his Son i point at same Face Gargano . Malenko was at a HoF , which The Rock was the Host, everbody laughed, not Malenko , he was Stone Cold .

    Dean Malenko to me is any “Great Value” Walmart product. It gets the job done to a mediocrely satisfactory level and that’s it. It’s not flashy and nothing draws you to it other than that great low price. Jokes aside, I really want to like Dean for his mat work, but the more I hear about him as a person, he sounds like human sludge.

    I don’t get. They were all trained. They all broke in. They get dressed in the same room. They walk through the same curtain, down the same aisle, through the same ropes, and they work in the same ring. One guy wins and one guy loses and it’s not real.     Dean malenko was very underrated! Tremendous wrestler, his gimmick was to be ice cold. What charisma would you want him to have? His charisma fit him perfectly. Tony schiavone amongst many others have said backstage hes very charismatic and funny.

    Bret being ‘over’ as much as recalled is the biggest revisionist history angle anyone calling themselves a fan ever fell for
    He went wcw…didn’t get over/wasn’t given a chance…either way…him being there breathing the air didn’t make a difference
    Look at Kurt, look at Eddie…character work, promo…in ring work to back it up…not the other way around
