But that's not how you should work a match. Can anyone do a 60 min Ironman match like that? People should get out of their seats because of the wrestling. You can perform high risk stuff IN ADDITION. That's the art of it. And in the end people should say that the match had everything. Who can do that today?

He was on a level very few wrestlers have ever achieved and that is undeniable. If he really did murder his family remember this : 😓
Posthumous tests performed on his body determined that, “Benoit’s brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer’s patient.” CTE is a serious brain disease that can cause memory loss, trouble thinking clearly, mood swings, dizziness, trouble speaking, trouble with balance, dementia and suicide.

Chris Benoit isn't my favorite, but I do give him respect for his abilities and talent in and around the ring. He was a great performer. I'm not overlooking at his mental state of final days of existence, but it goes to show that traumatic brain injuries are no joke!!! Any injury to the delicate brain of a human being needs therapy, both physical and mental therapy to overcome. Unfortunately, because of societys' sexist views towards mens' physical and mental health aren't being addressed, especially in impact professions, like those in sports entertainment. Yes, men are stronger than women physiologically, but mens' health aren't less important when it comes to physical injuries, especially those around the head. Chris Benoit should be a cautionary tale, not something to exploit for personal agenda nonsense. Jordyyne Grace was focused more on tarnishing Benoit, rather than looking up to him as a cautionary tale to those who want to enter this profession to take care of ones' health and to always use safety first. Look up to his abilities, but also acknowledge the negative side the the injuries this form of entertainment can bring to peoples' lives and their families... there are always risks. She didn't do that. This is why there was so much backlash towards her comment. With Benoit it is a touchy subject, because yes he was a great athlete, but let us not forget that he took the lives of his wife and kids and then himself (murder/suicide). Mrs. Grace just went at it all in the wrong way.
BTW, I actually made a PPT presentation in 2006 and I used Chris Benoit and a few football players as example of what Traumatic Brain Injury does. He was also included in my final thesis paper on the importance of acknowledging what trauma does to the brain and how educators should factor that in when interacting with students with this type of disabilities. Even now in 2022 we know very little about Traumatic Brain Injury and how even a slight trauma in life can negatively effect how humans rationalize. Rather than demonize the man, he needed help!
I never understood the whole Old Gen Vs New Gen mentality... Every generation has its flaws. No one is perfect. We can learn from each other. I ask young students to help me, because I see it in their eyes that they take great pride in helping others and being able to demonstrate their strengths. Rather than see that as a threat, use it to better the situation.

    Dupree is 100% correct.
Thicc Mamma Pump should never be allowed to mention Benoit's name again. I cannot name a wrestler today Benoit could not hang with. Her comment was absurd.
Benoit v Gresham, Omega, Naito, Cody Rhodes, AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Ishii, Claudio Castagnoli, Okada, Tanahashi, Josh Alexander, Moxley, Jay White, WIll Osprey, etc?
Yes, Benoit could have done well sharing the ring with any of them and more.

The complete self-delusion of these types of wrestlers who think they're the GOAT just because Dave Meltzer says so is comical. Benoit and Angle couldn't hang with today's stars? I think you'll find it's the other way around. Imagine the primadonnas of today trying to call a match in the ring with Benoit or Angle 😂

Benoit was and still is my all time favorite wrestler. People want to act like he was a bad person..nah. he had severe brain damage. It's a fact that brain damage can alter one's personality, even causing them to be more aggressive and violent. The information is out there. People need to educate themselves.

He was murdered I truly believe this read the police reports and the autopsy reports. Hear chavo statements about what Benoit was saying and acting like he was paranoid someone was coming for him the cops say he was in the house alive for a day when the autopsy showed he died at the same time. Alcohol was next to his body and pills when he tested negative for both

Which would be Chavo Guerrero, Chris Jericho, and his son. So, I think there's a lesson to be learned there.

While Chris asked to work in with my brothers deadlifts. He got so hyped and happy how he kept up with him as he knew he was young. Said hi to me and shakes my hand. I just feel like he was no longer Chris when he did what he did.
Not to make excuses but, he was a very sweet man when I met him.

This is so wild of a comment to make. A man who never held a profession other than being a professional wrestler and was insanely passionate about his craft to the extent that he punished himself with squats for even innocuous mistakes that nobody besides him even noticed not being able to hang with the wrestlers of today is ignorance to another level. And obviously it’s best expressed in her take that being unable to memorize a pre arranged match means he couldn’t hang since he had the skill that he didn’t pre plan his match’s and instead called it as they went based on the crowd. And then of course the fact that he’s widely regarded as one of the best to have ever done it. I can see why so many vets have disdain for some of the younger wrestlers

Do I think the cross face is over rated? Yes. But he wore them down for it. He could also apply 10 other submission holds if needed to win. Not counting pin combos.
